Jess for an extractor you can use 4.5 Ridgid vac with a wet filter and there is a company called Rip clean that sell a kit something to think about. That’s what I did.
Thanks! My little system and extractor had has been working awesome so far!
Keep up the great work and I’m a detailer from Virginia and I have been detailing for 27 years but I have been detailing for dealerships and Bodyshop’s
Love it, keep up the good work!!
Which Predator generator are you using? Great and super helpful video.
Thank u great video and great farm it looks so relaxing.
Thanks for watching! Haha well, it’s relaxing when you’re not trying to keep up on 10 acres of grass 😅 I try to stay grateful and enjoy it as much as I can though!
I bought the foam cannon from Harbor Freight and changed out the orifice for a 1.1 and it works well, good price and if it breaks you can return it.
I heard it was decent but when I went there they only had one that attached to a garden hose and it didn’t look like it’d work for my gun
you should try putting a pool filter sock over your vacuum filter. They are breathable and fit over your vacuum filter and keeps all the bigger particles & hair from the filter itself. You can clean these socks and replace as necessary. They are very cheap. Good Investment as well as a time saver.
Like that idea, thank you!
@@DetailWithJess
The pool filter sock is a good hack, just not designed to be used that way.
Go with rigid’s shop vac liner.
It’s a 3 pack, each bag could do 20+ cars I bet.
The liner bags ensures little to no cross contaminate of dry soil onto the filter. Looks like your vac is a 3 gallon, try searching Rigid 3 gallon liner bag
Sometimes the dirty ones are the easiest in a way. No mistaking what you have already cleaned!!
The choir I dread is cleaning my detail truck. Love cleaning everyone’s but my own. 😂😂
I just did the interior of my van last week and dreaded that…still need to do that outside. Ugh! Haha But yes, the dirtier, the easier typically! :)
1.1 orifice because you have a Ryobi electric pressure washer.depending how much you want to spend on a foam cannon. MJJC or Adam’s pro foam cannon is good less expensive. MJJC is going to give you mega foam. I myself had upgraded to Ridgid detailing hose kit longer better hose and attachments. And a yellow drill brush for your floor mats will save you more time than using a hand brush.
I have a 1.1 orifice in there, I think this foam cannon just doesn’t work with electric pressure washers…but the MJJC sounds like it’s the top recommended! I do have drill brushes that I typically use but this floor mats had so many crevices so I like the nail brush to really get in there 😊
Hey Jess, great video. Before you buy another foam cannon, try changing the orifice to a 1.1mm (if you haven't already). If you already have, I would suggest the MJJC Foam Cannon Pro v2 or the S V3.0. Either of these will come with the 1.25mm installed in the foam cannon, but a 1.1mm orifice will be included in the box You won't regret the purchase!!
Thanks so much! I had changed the orifice out a while back and was hoping that that would solve my problem but it did not. Thanks so much for the suggestions!
Hello :) I’m also a detailer from canada. Currently saving up for a caravan to run a business out of :) takes time tho. Anyways love your set up 😊please go live today when you clean the vehicle
So awesome to hear!! I didn’t go live on this one - that might have been a long grueling video 😆 but I did make a video that I’m uploading today!
Hey Jess, thanks so much for your content. Nobody has really done videos while they are just starting out, which is what I am doing at the end of the month hopefully. Very helpful and relatable. I was just wondering what size the rail slides are for the Predator 3500? I did not realize that thing was 100 lbs until I tried to pick it up at Harbor Freight lol. I'm gonna be detailing out of a Honda Element to get started
Good for you! I can’t remember off the top of my head but they are for 100lbs, I believe. They are linked in the description but I’ll leave the link here as well for ya! amzn.to/3QEJoPm
That is a really nice set up. I have enjoyed your videos so far and they inspire me to get my own business up and running. Good luck with your future details and can’t wait until the next video!
That is awesome! Go for it! It took me two months from concept to reality. You’ve totally got it!
Hi Jess, I'm Jose from California and I'm a auto detailer enthusiast. I'm not a pro, ( just a hobby that gets out of control some times) I learned on my own, I've been doing this for about four and a half years but, I really enjoy detailing cars. I have watched a few detailers star their journey in detailing and it's been a lot of fun. I hope to see more of your videos, your doing a great job. Wish you all the best.
Thanks so much! I’m no pro either but there’s nothing better than learning and pushing yourself to new limits. Keep at it and chase whatever opportunities come your way!
Hi Jess, watched 3 videos so far and am enjoying your content! Is your water tank strapped down? If not I would seriously consider getting some ratchet straps and attaching it to the frame of the vehicle. You don’t want to worry about a 500+ lb water tank moving in the event of a collision. Keep the videos coming, it seems people are enjoying them!
Thanks so much!!
Woo nice very good video good luck 🍀
Thank you!
Great video
Thanks!
Everyone always recommends the MTM or MJJC. I went with the Griots Boss Foam Cannon. I wanted something I didn't have to mix water in. It has a metering system that mixes with the water as you spray. That way you can pour whatever you use back in the bottle and then rinse out the foam canon without wasting product.
Oooh nice, I like that! Thanks so much!
Go Care Detailing from the island of JAMAICA 🇯🇲 🙌
Love it!
This is why we charge a pretty penny for mobile jobs, prepping alone is half the job.
Not to mention the massive loads of laundry!! People have no idea! Not to say that those with garages don’t have to do the same work, but it is a luxury service for sure.
Good luck.
Thanks!
Mjjc foam canon. The best
Awesome, and works good with an electric pressure washer?
Awesome my setup is going to be something like yours.
Awesome! Much luck!
@@DetailWithJess Thanks for responding back good luck into your journey.
New subscriber here very nice work 🎉
You’re the best, thanks so much!
mjjc 3.0 works perfect
That seems to be the one and only recommendation! Thanks!
As far as spray bottles, a better bargain is at Walmart, they are called "Master Blaster". They do make bags for your vacuum. I don't believe the interior express contains protectants?
I’ll have to check those bottles out!! I get this 3 pack online at Lowe’s for $8..I think they sell them individually for almost $5. Such a difference in price! I commented above but the Xpress definitely does not include protectants and I’m assuming the Swift does not either. I have protectants in my Aqua Gloss finish though that I always finish my surfaces with 😄
Need to make videos of your car detailing your channel will grow quickly
Thank you! That’s my next video, just recorded my entire interior process :)
Get a cigarette lighter charger for your drill batteries works great
Thanks for the suggestion!
Thank you for showing the prepping process 🙏🏼 Do you use some sort of ladder for big SUVS/Trucks?😅
Yes, I do have a 4 or 5’ ladder that fits right in the back of my van behind my seats there. Everyone always comments that I need to get a bench ladder but this is what I’m working with at the moment and have no complaints. :)
I’m not sure what year your van is but most vehicles have a regular outlet hidden in or around the dash area. I heard you say your charger melted when powered by the generator. The plug (if you have one) fixes that problem. Keep up the good work.👊🏻
I know a lot of trucks and newer cars have 12v outlets but I’ve never seen vans with them…
Thank you though! :)
Have fun tomorrow
Thanks!
Do the spray bottles look like ducks on purpose lol I have the same bottles, but seen them in a new light when you had them grouped together HaHa
Haha too funny
Hey Jess, did your fiam cannon come with different orfices? Itsblike a little round screen. They usually come with larger ones for gas pressure washers, but you need the smaller ones for electric pressure washers. Fiam cannons usually come with both in rhe box. If you put the right one in for an electric pressure washer it should make more foam for you
I had replaced it with a smaller one and it’s still no good! It just doesn’t create a thick foam. I think this one only works well with gas pressure washers based upon what I’ve seen. Thanks so much though!
@@DetailWithJess Oh ok, I have the MTM PF22.2 and it works great with both my gas and electric (Ryobi 1800psi 1.2gpm) pressure washers. I highly recommend it if your looking to switch yours. Keep up the great work!!
Madame, Hope you get ready to save more and be more efficient with Rinseless instead of foam. You can learn how it is with Yvan Lacroix, many, many videos on it on the Rag Company and DIY Detail and others he had helped.
Something with foam cannons is if you are using an electric pressure washer or a gasoline one, for an electric one you have to change the orifice on the foam cannon from 1.25 to 1.1. One of the best ones is MJJC v2, then the Griot's Garage Boss foam cannon. Also, maintenance for it on checking out its filter so it isn't clogged else you lose the foaming.
You are the second to mention the MJJC, awesome! I already changed out the orifice to a 1.1 and it still doesn’t create foam. JoshV had done a video on this cannon and got the same results. I actually rarely use my foam cannon to be honest and do a two bucket method 90% of the time, but will definitely look into a rinseless wash. I just don’t know if they’ll suit the vehicles I work on most of the time…I live in the country and most of my clients are getting their vehicles done once, maybe twice a year so they are not clean vehicles. Thanks so much!
Always wear a dust mask when using a compressor, you don’t want that stuff in your lungs.
I know I 100% should!! but my glasses get fogged up and I can’t see anything every time I try to wear a mask! So I just hold my breath and step away. NOT the best solution but I gotta figure that out.
@@DetailWithJess try Acuvue Oasis contacts, you’ll never go back to glasses! Zero downside and massive upside in terms of field of view, no fogging, not having to constantly wipe glasses, VR and helmet use, and much more.
Hi Jess what you choose a Ford Transit Connect than a Nissan or a Ram ?
Personally, my husband and I have just always been van people. We’ve lived/traveled in and built vans for the last 7 years and we’ve owned 2 Ford Transit 250’s in the past. We have never ever had an issue with any of our vans. Last year we started looking into ProMaster’s and they seem to have had a lot more mechanical issues which I want nothing to do with. I don’t know anything about Nissan’s but they’ve just never been a brand I’ve gravitated to. So it could be a bit of brand loyalty in my opinion but that brand loyalty has come from a background of 3 positive experiences of driving across the country over 20 times, over the span of 7 years with absolutely zero issues….and that’s the kind of reliability I want in my business. Hope that helps! :)
Will you be doing this long term as in year's or switching from job to job when things suit you.
Do you have insurance in case you damaged a client's car.
I absolutely have insurance. And I am on a 5 year plan at the moment. Physically I’m not sure I could sustain longer, but I’m also expanding my skills and will see what kind of toll that take on my body. I think people think I’m younger than I am, but I’m 38 and my wrists and shoulders have already been destroyed from years of waitressing, dirt biking and horseback riding…which is the only reason I feel limited in this industry on this particular path..but we’ll see what happens!! :)
Jess, I have the same Trinova foam cannon you have, it's decent, but here's a link to a vid I shot comparing my MJJC Pro V2 foam cannon(~$80) to a Feng Pai (~$20). The MJJC is really good, but the Feng Pai performs really well for the price. Both are better than the Trinova.
czcams.com/video/dEGKrav0jDg/video.html
Lots of comments on the MJCC! Thanks so much, I’ll give it a watch :)
