The re edit of bird passing is better
It would be great if, at least for basketball reactions (and esp. with these antique vids) you could (no offense, but) make yourself the small inset, so the blurry play would be easier to follow. Larry's passes are so quick-release and sometimes so unexpected, it's sometimes easy to miss them.

I watched basketball with my Dad growing up, & Bird was our favorite player! My Dad used to say, Bird didn't only have eyes in the back of his head, he had them in his kneecaps too 🤣😂🤣
The 5 times Larry Bird was injured but refused to quit. The 4 times Larry Bird was hurt but showed male toughness. Both are mind blowing.

Funny how alike we think. I just had rodman instead of wilt and Miller instead of Kobe. But I did consider Kobe, but for some reason I think Miller's style would just fit better with the dominance of the starting 3.
Glad to see you as you've been feeling the first touches of Bird Fever, and getting a clearer understanding of why we Bird Nuts are so high on Bird's game.
But this is just the beginning. If you watch the commenters' suggested videos-- including the re-edit of this one, which has at least one surprising series of passes: Larry Bird Greatest Passer of All Time (Re edit w: New Footage))and the ones about him and Magic -- I'm betting you'll fall deeper and deeper in love with Bird.
You still haven't seen the features emphasizing his unselfishness (and you talked through the mention of it in this vid-- which I understand, because you were jumping around with excitement over his passing. I was too, and this ain't exactly the first time I've seen it, or even the first time I've seen this video), or his toughness (twb the "5 times Bird was injured and refused to quit" one), or many of the other facets of his game and personality that make us Bird fans so committed and enraptured.
This is a great ride so far, watching you go from the common skepticism of those who didn't grow up watching Bird, to your being a dazzled believer.

I had seen Bird play live many times.....hes absolutely breathtaking. Wasnt always pleasant watching him and the Celtics beat my Milwaukee Bucks 🥴🥴🥴
Larry Bird can fit with ANY lineup.. he can pass, rebound, defend, hustle, set screens, oh yea he scored. he could score OFF ball, or in iso. he could spot up for 3, he could shoot of the dribble, he could post up low, mid, high, his jab steps and fakes were lethal, he shredded double teams with his passing. But the ULTIMATE line up would be NO BALL DOMINANT players..
Curry, Jordan (ball dominant, BUT he moved WITHOUT the ball, and was a good passer, plus its damn Jordan), Bird, Kevin Garnett and Shaq..
only jordan was ball dominant. Curry and Shaq moved off ball, shaq passed out if he didnt get good position, his moves and decision making was quick hitting, Kevin Garnett is in for Defense, he shut down the ENTIRE court (plus Jordan and Bird were great off ball defenders too, getting lots of steals, Curry too) and
Shaq to clog up the middle (I dare you to drive on him). Bird did everything, and would be the glue and leader on this team.
Did you actually see that play with Johnny most going crazy? Isaiah stupidly tried to inbound the ball and Larry tapped it on his toes right out on the line and DJ shot the ball won the game.
There really isn't another athlete like Bird. Some guys are great scorers. Some guys win alot, some guys are team players. He's the only one that had it all

He can play with anyone. He was highly adaptable to all styles and very unselfish! It doesn't have to be all time greats, he will make them into HoFers by the end. 4 halfway decent players, you will be in the running for a ring.

It's hard to make a line up because of all the decades of great players, so I'll take the easy way out. Go watch some video of the greatest collection of talent on one team. It wasn't called "The Dream Team" for no reason. And the stories from the college athletes to the teams representing their countries in the Olympics are unbelievable. Search them out and enjoy the dominant force they were and will never be matched. Epic!

Depends on the rules. But if we are talking 80-90 era rules, this would be my line-up.
Bird, Magic, Jordan, Rodman...5th is a bit hard here...for some reason Reggie Miller sounds right...maybe Kobe...Kobe is the better individual player, but Miller seems to me to be the better team player to fit into what I think the starting 3 would bring. I am thinking team cohesion here and not "star power".

Bird is actually a power forward. He only went to small forward when McHale became a starter. Best all time is Bird, Magic, MJ and the rest really doesn't matter. The 3 of them together in their prime can't be beat by anyone. You could put Russel, Wilt, Shaq, Kareem or any of at least 5 other centers. This would actually be a good spot for Bron or Kobe as they are fluid like Larry so would work well together. Sorry, bron or kobe is starting on the bench.

Larry in my opinion was the greatest to ever do it. People today think athletic=greatness. Wrong. Bird did EVERYTHING. He scored at will, he averaged double digit rebounds for his career. He was great defensively. He was unreal at the free throw line. The 3 point shot wasn’t in the NBA until Birds rookie year, so he didn’t spend a lifetime practicing it the way players do now. He played with a body that was so broken down and STILL put up ridiculous stats. Don’t forget in the playoffs he didn’t just BEAT Jordan….he SWEPT him…..TWICE. And he did all of this in an era where you could commit a felony before you got a foul called. Unlike today’s NBA where weak ass players like LeFlop James whines and cries if he gets breathed on. In today’s NBA, Larry would average 35.
