I was living/working in education in Raleigh 4 several yrs, but moved back to New York in 2016. Not a day goes by without me thinking of Raleigh and how I miss it. I suspect both beltlines have become a nightmare due to increased population and cars. What is needed is a light rail, like subway in Atlanta (above ground) that goes north/south; east/ west along say Capital Blvd to Wake Forest and New Bern ave through Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon. Another towards Cary, Apex, Holy Springs; a branch towards Garner, Fuguay& along the I-40 corridor towards I-85. I was there in Raleigh again in 2018 and the city is developing so rapidly that traffic will soon be worst than the Perimeter in Atlanta. I a planning to move back to Raleigh 4 good to enjoy the lakes, ponds, parks, rivers and wide open spaces. I love Raleigh and can't wait to return permanently.

How in the hell do you get up enough speed at that time to have a wreck is wtf I want to know. Last time I took one of those God forsaken pos stretches of hwy it was like the parking lot at the fairgrounds. Unless it's late at night I take old main hwys and back roads.

One of my best friends is buried at Oakwood (towards the very back corner of the cementary). Last time I went, was the last. I felt the need to speak out loud to my friend (apprently a no no), I was alone, it was a sunny day when I arrived.
Perhaps the neighbor spirits were feeling disturbed because out of no where it got dark in that corner. Wind was blowing, and suddenly a fowl smell crossed by my nose. I felt uneasy and like I was being told to go.
As I got in my car there was a huge gust in the opposite direction that slammed my car door the minute I sat in.
Perhaps alone I will not go again, but I have to return to see my friend.

State is definitely haunted. However I found the whole area around Dorothea Dix complex felt more so. I’ve also been to Mordecai house, and that place is very active. Growing up, my friends and I would go to Oakwood cemetery. We didn’t go in out of respect and set hours but walked around the perimeter. I’ve seen the statue and can honestly say I felt it following/tracking me. It’s a very common experience and very, very creepy. Great job with the video and thanks for covering Raleigh!

Strange the effect of the 1800's with selective prejudices of nestle/morongo sovereign nation exempt from consequences of breaking law's against humanity.

@@FrightNightScares every halloween we are always on oakwood ave, they always have a big scene gathering, I live right down from the dog park that's next to the cemetery, on Halloween night I don't know if it's spirits that we hear or people shouting. U hear running, screaming, see strange lights. It's very spooky walking down the back side of the cemetery on brookside dr. I never walk that way alone. Which I have a friend that walks through the cemetery nightly taking a short cut to work. I just don't have the nerve. Lol. But all this is very true facts. I can show you personally.
