After seeing how much work goes into making one, I can't believe the Bazaar sold it for only 80 rupees...
Seeing as it took especially wealthy families to buy something for 300 rubies, that’s pretty high if you think about it lol. It’s like a dollar back then had a lot more value than it does today

There was no inflation there
To the common Farmer, 80 rupees would be more than a years savings! Historically, knights were required to purchase their own weapons and that was a lot of why peasants were so helpless. They simply couldn't afford weapons! This just shows that weapons should be wielded with honor, so as to honor the smiths.

in skyward sword it costs 500 rupees
keep in mind irl a rupee is a stand in for emeralds and one of the size we see in the standard rupee would be abpout $50-$100 or more depending on quality so 80 of them would be well over what THIS irl shield is worth. you may be able to buy a car with that.

If this doesn't convince people to like you as much as Tony, I don't know what will. While Tony's works were amazing, his Captain America shield was easily his weakest craft, but this shield is fantastic.
My original problem with these guys, and the reason why I stopped watching was because these guys were just doing random mashups and not the true recreations. If theyve switched to recreations, I might be watching again. If this was a one off, then Im still gone.

They stopped doing the mash up nonsense a while back, I had stopped watching when they were doing that as well. After that I starting liking their works a bit more than Tony's because they are more in depth about the processes they use.

I'm surprised that I'm just finding this video, it was uploaded nearly 4 years ago, I'm obsessed with The Legend of Zelda, so would've thought after that long either it would've been recommended or I would've heard about this channel at some point, oh well better late than never, love historical weaponry, whenever I have the money I'd love to collect a lot of the cool weapons.

You guys seem to be up to trying unconventional or extreme weapons. How about attempting to make a Switch Axe from Monster Hunter? That would be the ultimate challenge.
i think i'd rather see the devastator blade from monster hunter, it's a little more simple

With the switch axe you would've to be able to change between sword mode and axe mode at will, as well as with the charge blade. Idk, its just my opinion, I would be happy if they made one of the classics like the wyvern blade ``silver´´ or the wailing cleaver, or what TheDragonflyzero said :S

RWBY- Cresent Rose. PLEASE. People have been asking for this since the start of Reforged (to my knowledge). I know that, technically, a scythe is nearly impossible to use as an effective weapon, but still, sooooooo many people have asked for it, and it'd be amaze-sauce to see it be made.

I rather much prefer the arms you build like this one that are actually practical to use in combat since it lets you get all of the details down without having to making compromises, as opposed to weapons like the Buster Sword and Tessaiga. No slight against those series, I just prefer somethin' that can actually function

The sword don't have a combat shape too. They can be used in combat, but aren't that 'pratical'

I'm aware a steel shield is heavy, but it can still be held and block attacks. You just need a pretty good arm to hold it up.

They used amber for the Triforce!! AHH!! And little tidbit here. In Lithuania, where amber is looked very highly upon, that type of amber is called "King's Amber." Only royal owned it for it was the most expensive. I don't know if they knew that but it was a great choice!

@@monkeydoespride Yeah, but the one from Majora's Mask has this screaming face embossed on it - it's so much different than the other Mirror Shields. My personal favorite is the classic one from OoT with the Crescent Moon and Star emblem.
@@hanburgundy4317 My favorite has to be Windwaker’s Mirror Shield. It’s looks like it could be a twin of the Hylian Shield but with the mirrored glass and the symbols underneath the glass. Such a cool design.

The mirror shield is from some of the other games, too. Minish cap and wind waker are some examples.

dboydev Not just a tool, it's a whole set of gear. Even still, it's doable. They could totally just do the swords if they wanted, but the rest would just be simple machining on aluminum. I've seen a bunch of people make pretty nice replicas already.
they make swords and armour, not complicated machinery, the closest they ever got to that was the hidden blade/crossbow combo which didn't pop back on it's own and I doubt there was much more anyone could've done for that.

Dave Arndt why is that lol, they made excalibur and it looked AMAZING and it was functional. Ilya would most likely make a katana with damascus and silk wrappings, maybe gemstones embossed into the hilt

If it was Medigoron's work, sure - his Giant's Knifes break if you hit something they can't cut - but Biggoron says that the broken hilt you bring him "is clearly my worrrrrrrrrk". SO, even the Biggoron Sword he crafts for you can plausibly break; unless he pulled out all the stops and made one to the best of his ability only for you for getting him eyedrops - maybe he's a bit lazy otherwise lol

Shield were used as weapons, mostly to shatter bones or to push the enemy back. Protection, and a mini weapon I guess.

Yes that is its primary purpose, I was just stating how it is considered as a weapon as well as for protection, really depending on the type of shield used as well.

Love how you guys made the LttP Master Sword a one handed sword like it's supposed to be. The Master Sword in many reproductions is done too big. The Master Sword is a one hand sword used by a teenager who is not know for being tall.
You should make Kenpachi Zaraki's zanpakuto or Ichigo's bankai from Bleach. I love the idea of a serated katana or a razor sharp black katana that isn't meant to just be hung on a wall. :)
Kenpachi's zanpakuto isn't serated it's broken and that's is the main reason why I love it so much.
Christian Henderson It is shown in the anime as serated most of the time, but on a few occasions, it was shown to actually be chipped and cut by other zanpakuto and Kenpachi just never bothered to sharpen or repair it.

His Zanpakuto looks that way as he has fought with it as an unsealed sword for centuries and hasn't bothered to clean it or look after it.
Even after one 6-10 hour battle sword will have to be re-sharpened, maybe even reforge out the breaks, dents or chips.
Kenpachi doesnt do that. His sword is one big piece of fucked up

Britt Mang What about Saber's Excalibur or Lancer's Dual Spears (Fate/Zero)? Heck, even Archer's Bow or Caladbolg II would be worth seeing.

In the movie they looked like solid bronze however the real Spartans used wood with a layer of leather and then a sheet of bronze on top.

oh i'm sorry for some reason i thought we were talking about swords. no you're right it's more likely they used wooden bases with thick bronze sheets and leather on top for shields. you can just google 'hoplite shield pylos' for a good example

I thought the shield was really amazing. Loved it, and the video. Honestly though, seeing the final product with the blue and red paint...the painting just looked amateurish, it looked slapped on. You can see all of the brush strokes, the edges aren't straight, doesn't look very symmetrical. The shield is awesome and deserved a better paint job than that.

Kevin Boyle I think they should have not painted it at all. The rough and dark texture looked beautiful, in my opinion. Also 30JinWei, blacksmithing, as demonstrated in this video, is an art.
I liked how you could see the strokes. Just me though.
Kevin Boyle I think it simply wasn't dry when the footage was taken. That's why some parts appeared darker. Maybe they didn't have time to wait for it to dry before filming it.
