Bill Burr is a champion. Through comedy, he points out the male point of view of these situations, and people listen.
Anyone else points out male issues they get automatically dismissed as "You dont know anything about problems with your privilege."
Just because another group has legitimate issues, doesn't mean that we don't also have some too.

I really only started using that phrase cuz while speaking to a women's studies professor in college, I was saying I didn't think I was a feminist but that I agreed with 95% of what the movement was about. She told me that makes me a feminist and that more men should outwardly and proudly say they are if they feel that way because it strengthens the movement.
So I rang that bell a few times and I still do consider myself one because all it means is you believe in equality but I also do believe if men are walking around saying that too much, they're probably looking for approval.
When I did it the first few times, I think I was because before that I think I came off very pigheaded a few times when I was younger and I think I wanted some female friends of mine to know I didn't think that way anymore. I don't really call myself that anymore, I just argue the views of it. Seems to be a better way to be one.

A male feminist is that, a male that supports feminism. Feminist is an idea, not genitalia, you can be a feminist if you are ok with it, this is the definition of feminism: "belief in and advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes expressed especially through organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests". Nowhere says "a belief held by women".
Edit: His analogy is also bad. Black panthers were a group of exclusively black people, organized to protect other black people from police. They didn't allow white people to join. Feminism is not a women only club.

The dictionary definition of a feminist is a person, not a woman, who believes in equal rights for women. So I guess a guy can be one. But only if we’re sticking to that definition. But if heard women say things that are just as sexist as men, and I’m not going to pretend the balance is equal. Guys can be even worse than women in a lot of ways, but it doesn’t mean that sexism can’t go both ways. I worked with someone who genuinely believed that women were a genetically superior gender to men. No joke. That’s not feminism. That’s sexism. That’s Donald Trump level sexism.
The bottom line is, asking bluntly for consent shouldn’t be necessary. We know as guys when women are into it and when they’re not. They shouldn’t have to “give consent” verbally. If you’re kissing and she’s not kissing back, there’s no consent. And you’re in a new relationship and she’s pushing you off, that’s a pretty good sign it’s a no go. And if you assume wrong, she’ll tell you. No harm no foul. But if you’re assuming that “no” when you’re in a new relationship means try harder, go directly to jail. As a guy, I’m tired of being in a relationship with someone whose last boyfriend screwed them over. And I have to be responsible to not upset someone with PTSD. I support women. We’re the ones with the problem.

It has become so tiring how hung up people are about this shit. Comment section full of people fighting over who can or can't be a feminist. I personally believe in equality for all people, which certainly includes women, but I have never identified as a feminist, because I also care if someone who isn't female is being treated unequally. Humanity needs to grow up, and get the fuck over this need to sub-divide into groups who can continue screwing with each other. It's a pointless waste of time and resources.

I dont think that being a male feminist is to claim you can fully understand what women go through etc. Perhaps a less confusing term for some would be that you support feminism? To my understanding, feminism just means equality/equity/respect among genders. That should be something men practice and advocate for surely.
The issue is that after the end of 3rd wave feminism, the movement sort of went off the rails and spiralled into various things unrelated to equality. You had groups that hijacked it or took advantage to simply profit and get power. You had groups who joined and used the movement like it was some college social club instead of something serious and important societally. Then you had people pushing the movement towards simply hating men. Some who pushed the movement to go beyond equality and into legitimate female supremacy over men. Some who didn't want supremacy but still wanted special treatment. Some used it to even attack and hate other women, especially those who still just sought equality and supported men still. The whole thing has become convoluted and messy. The fact that there are multiple "waves" even proves that. What other movement is marked like that? You have a goal and you either get it or you don't. You don't keep moving the goal post, I mean history doesn't record multiple waves of the civil rights movement does it?
Basically, yes, men should want to practice and advocate for what it as in, it's definition and for what it was when it started. But surely you wouldn't want all the garbage written above right?

Yes and no. They are not dating as much when younger is a fair assessment and certainly have moved away from marrying, but more and more men from the U.K. and U.S. where the issue is so extreme are simply choosing women from other countries more and more, not giving up on women entirely.
