I got a 9yo cat from a shelter to accompany my senior and she became the love of my life in no time. Never have I seen a more compassionate, energetic, happy and grateful cat, she would sit by my chair every evening waiting for me to go to bed with her while falling asleep sitting. Sadly, misdiagnosed lung cancer kicked in 3 years later. There's no day I don't miss her. If not for the cancer, she could easily have gotten 15+ years with how fit she was otherwise...
How horrible some people are. How could anyone just dump out onto the streets any animal, particularly an elderly one. He is asweetheart and you two are angels on earth. He have given him a second life. You are wonderful people. You have kind gentle hearts. That elderly sweet boy looking so sad, thin, thrown out. He looks happy and much younger. Bless you both for your loving, giving hearts.
He has cataracts. That red flash in his eye is a sure indicator. But he is very old , thankfully he can live out the end of his life in comfort with proper care & love. He definitely came and posted on the right doorstep.
But can't this happen to any animal (humans included)? Every now and then our eyes come out red in photos, it doesn't necessarily mean we have something
@@MCheshireIssue is, cat eyes hit by light actually shine green, due to their incredible vision and being able to see in the dark, because of this, if a cats eyes shine red, it could be a sign of cataracts

I love this comment but as a rescuer and veterinary nursing student myself, sometimes we can’t take all the sweet babies home with us I thank God that we don’t have any kill shelters in my country (may be why I’m so comfortable with dropping them off in the first place) but even taking these angels to rescues is the 2nd chance they need to find their amazing homes, there are some great people out there who actively go to shelters to help them ❤
It saddens me how some people treat animals, but then seeing that there are also such wonderful people out there that go out of their way to do beautiful things like this. Thank you for being so kind to this sweet cat!
This actually happened where I live, my friend calls me from the Sonic and says the cat's been trying to get into the Sonic every night for over a week.. they were feeding the poor guy chicken tenders every night.. I took him home and took him to the vet the next day and had him scanned for a microchip..😊 I couldn't leave him out at the Sonic, it was almost 20° outside most of those nights at that time of year and he wasn't going to make it... that's why he was trying to get inside the Sonic.. 😢 His name was Rowdy and we found out because he did indeed have a microchip! We called the owner with the information that was on the microchip.. the owner moved to Florida and left the cat with their 70 year old neighbor, basically gave the cat to the neighbor because the cat liked living with the neighbor and the neighbor liked the cat ...and they wouldn't have to take him all the way to Florida with them.. sad to me that they didn't want to bring him but I can understand them giving him to the neighbor... However the 70 year old neighbor died and Rowdy was left outside to wander the streets for weeks.. he lost 15 lb.. he was nearly skin and bones when we found him, his owner that moved to Florida told us he was 20 lbs when she gave him to the 70 year old lady neighbor. The lady from Florida had an arrangement with a cat rescue here in town, so I took him to the vet that she wanted me to and the lady from the rescue picked him up.. I really hope Rowdy has a good life for the rest of his days, he was the sweetest boy @@Steve-gx9ot
