- Never a dull moment, even when it appears to be an actual dull moment.
Although we are in our lambing reprieve, we need eyes at the back of our heads to make sure we aren't missing anyone going backwards.
And we almost did!
We've got two bottle babies who are in ROUGH SHAPE, and need to be bottle fed to be able to train on the machine again.
We had a minor breakout in the market lamb barn as yours truly forgot to lock the gate.
AND we almost had a lost lamb due to a 'snakey' situation.

I agree. I watch all the time and even do triple takes. I have learned so much from you, Sandi, and admire all you do. Please don't allow nasty comments get to you. They often are just jealous or have low self-esteem and want to bring you down so they can feel better about themselves. I am a disabled nurse and found that out the hard way. ❤❤❤

If you don't bottle feed the baby lambs will learn to suck on that machine you have for them. They will learn very quickly

I know the mother hen in you is sensing her heading back to school and out on her her own after she was dealt a very difficult chapter. You all circled your wagons around her in such a caring way that was significant to all of your healing. When my husband had cancer someone told me that when one gets cancer everyone gets cancer. My husband has been 20 years beyond his cancer and I know you will see those milestones with Jess too. You have navigated rough seas and have so much to celebrate! Merry Christmas!

My father loved puzzles. Every year my two siblings & I would trade off buying him one for our Christmas Eve family gathering. After the meal and the presents were opened, we would all start in on the puzzle. As we became adults, the unofficial rule was that nobody could leave until the puzzle was done. Over the years they got more, and more complicated. Sometimes we were still at it in the wee hours of Christmas morning and made an early Christmas Puzzle breakfast. Merry Christmas to all of you!!

In my family, after Thanksgiving and Christmas days were spent with extended family, my immediate family would work on a puzzle together. Dad wasn't very involved but would occasionally wander in and add a piece or two. It was a special time to relax after a hectic day with all the cousins.

Even though you say you show the same sheep stuff all the time I never tire of watching you do all the stuff with the barn and sheep. I grew up on a farm and miss it so I love watching you. I wish we could see a little more of the harvesting, planting and machinery but I know Mark is super busy at that time. I just really enjoy watching a working farm. You guys are absolutely amazing with all the work you do. I wish more people would understand where their food comes from and how it gets to them. It is very hard work...every day...no sick days. Also just wondering, do you note if a ewe is an amazing mum? I know you note when a mum rejects her lambs but I wonder if you note great mums too? That last mum was such a good mummy, you can see it already. I didn't know if it's something you could rate when you are ear tagging the lambs etc, ie 4/5. It might make it easier when it comes to selecting ewes for future breeding? From what I see like Ruthie etc , if you are a good mum then your lambs seem to grow to be good mums too.

Just a word. In my long experience with bookstores in both the US and Europe, I've seen many more bookstore housecats than bookstore housedogs. Nothing against dogs, you understand, just mentioning that books and contemplative cats seem to go together which is why they end up pictured in your puzzles as much as they do. Sandi, I just wanted to say thank you for continuing to make videos around Christmas, I know you say that Christmas isn’t the huge holiday for you that it is for some people at least as far as traveling is concerned because of your flock. But my name is Sheila and I have been having health issues lately. I am an archaeologist and I got Lyme disease and so I’ve been bedridden for about 2 1/2 months and the depression is sudden and honestly some days. The only thing that makes me smile are watching your videos, so thank you for taking the time and thank your family. I watch Jessica‘s videos too and I think that in January I’m going to try and read the book for your book club and join in on the discussion😮

Sheila -- I hope you feel better soon. i was bedridden for 11 months and, psychologically, it was VERY difficult. Inspiring and warm-hearted vlogs were very helpful to me. Sandi's vlogs, plus "Snake Discovery" (I have been afraid of snakes my whole life!) have helped me immensely. (Who knew that reptiles could be so lovely, and interesting? Not me.)
I hope you will be out and about very soon but, in the meantime, I hopr you find comfort in the books. (I love book clubs. Bet you will, too.) ❤️

That skinny lamb reminds me of a ferret I rescued years ago. He was emaciated when I got him. Took me three days of syringe feeding him before he finally would eat from a spoon. For the rest of his life he would go through bouts of irritable bowel disease. When he was sick, I was required to spoon feed him. If I put the same food in a dish in front of him, he would just look at me and refuse to eat it. Nope had to be from a spoon, and from me.

I found you while I was nursing my oldest daughter. Now I have a 2nd daughter and another sweet girl on the way. My oldest (4) loves watching lambs, the 2nd oldest daughters (18 months) recently learned the word "bebe lam". My girls love to snuggle up to me so we can watch you and the lambs. Thank you for giving us something special to relax with.
Oh I have a puzzle mat. I love it! It is so handy, especially for bigger puzzles (up to 3000 pieces fit on it)

When I was in my preteen-teenish years I got a reputation for caring for bummer farm animals. There were times I would have 2 or 3 of different species. Once I had a piglet, calf and lamb all at once. That was crazy. I ended up taking the piglet and lamb to school with me in my backpack for weeks. (I went to a very small farming community school). I pawned them off on teachers for the day. I never took in that many species at once again.
