We stand and support the Actors and Writers that are on strike. Without them we wouldn't have any of the films or shows we love or grew up with. They transport us to new worlds, wonder us with beautiful stories, challenge our minds, open us up to other perspectives, and allow us to reflect inward about ourselves and the world we inhabit. Without them, this channel would not exist and I will use it to help spread awareness of why they are striking, why it matters, and how you can help.

Have to thank you for the previous episode... Your confusion and hilarious reactions to certain scenes was exactly what I needed. 😂
Stregobor was talking about Falka when he showed how his hands were an illusion. She was "quarter Elven, just like Yenefer" and Istredd came to her defense. I think it was season 1 but im not certain.
Oh right!
It was indeed. S1 ep1 and s2 ep3.
I agree about the Ciri stuff, though I thought Freya Allan was terrific. The problem was that it didn't really move anything forward, and it didn't tell us anything we didn't already know.
One nice thing about this season in general is that Jaskier has gone from being an entertaining and amusing sidekick character to being as complete a person as the Big Three (who are now essentially the Big Four, as far as I'm concerned).
When you talked about a monolith in the desert scenes, I suddenly envisioned a 2001-style monolith appearing, which was amusing to imagine, but it probably shows that I wasn't totally immersed in the narrative.
Wasn't Falka the reason Stregebor (I'm sure my spelling is incorrect) hates elven blood. He told Geralt about her episode 1 of season 1...
You're right, I forgot about that.
For a last season with Henry Cavill it’s strange he’s basically a cameo in his own show.
It just what happened in the book. The more story progress, Ciri become more of the main character of the story. She is basically the 'chosen one' and center of everything in this story.
You did seem to enjoy feral Ciri! XD Her line to her mother about abandoning her and not taking her with them gets me. Because it probably had something to do with her father. Or something or other. Because they were all planning to go together that night.
A lot of people didn’t like this episode. I mean it was slower and very different than the previous one. Not that people have to watch it again, but I assume viewers would like it more after knowing what to expect. I really think it’s fine to have breathing room and more space. It’s also fine to dislike it. I don’t think Geralt is a better character than the others, and he has a lot in common with Ciri, in a way.
I’m sure that men especially would be far more positive about this episode if it were focused on Geralt. But I think guys should get used to trying to connect with, watch, and have patience for more female characters. I’m saying this as a generalization, because men frequently express annoyance and/or apathy when teenage girls in general are on screen (as a character rather than decor). They haven’t had to get used to it. Women have to get used to seeing men in every movie. Even most chick flicks.
I do understand the pacing was wild, and people are twitchy about Cavill leaving. But I liked seeing a girl struggle with these questions I’ve (personally) not seen in a show. Unspoken abandonment issues, in spite of consciously remembering her family so fondly, grappling with her female ancestors perpetuating the cycle of violence. Trying to figure out how to handle her immense sense of justice with her extraordinary power. Power is always dangerous, especially hers. But you need power to make a difference.
I mean if there’s one thing about the Witcher show which I frankly like but is disorienting… it’s going to be off balance lol. Chaotic indeed. So I understand that you miss the neatness of the trinity. And probably their happiness and teamwork. :-/ Ciri wasn’t in the dance episode I don’t think, but Geralt and Yennefer were. I guess I like the minor characters as well though. I mean sure it would be more cathartic to see more action and the violence of Nilfgaard etc. And I would have wanted to see it too if they had the time! But this show is rarely traditionally cathartic. This was about Ciri’s emotional state in the desert.
This was a good ciri episode, you can say that by the end of her experience there she to will hate sand it’s coarse rough and it get everywhere lol sorry had too!!! Also downloaded the song in the credits immediately after Watching this episode
Oh noooo rofl. “Call me… Anakin.”
Stregobor talked about falka story before
Yeah it was actually kind of neat how his conjuring of her saw her engulfed in fire, essentially like Ciri. I mean, his certainly seemed to be theatrical. But fire magic is powerful and dangerous, and we don’t see others do that, from what I recall.
I felt that in that fight the Witcher had with Vilgefortz, he didn’t seem to be fighting as the fighter he normally is. His effort and determination to win was no way near what he usually gives in a fight… Looked like he easily got beaten…🙄
Huh? I thought it looked effortless on Vilgefortz’s part, but not on Geralt’s. Geralt certainly seemed to underestimate him, understandably. He wasn’t fighting a huge monster or a bunch of people. Unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying.
@@NoelleMar Yep, you did misunderstand, as I agree with you☺️
This monolith shit is not part of the book nor the game, as well as "fire magic is forbidden" thing. Not sure what they're going with this.
When you have only eight episodes a season then the writing should be pretty tight and the story moving along at a decent pace. That desert sequence with Ciri was just too much. It was like watching a glacier move.
I’m sorry but it is frankly embarrassing how many people admit to not having the patience to sit through more meditative and thoughtful scenes but not the humility to admit its personal taste. Instead it’s “the writers.”
Don’t watch the show? It always experiments in storytelling. As well as pacing and all sorts of things.
@@NoelleMar I don't mind slow pacing or thoughtful scenes as long as they're done well. Midnight Mass is a great example of that. This wasn't.
@NoelleMar nah, it was too drawn out and unnecessary. It was redundant at best and frustrating to watch.
The way Ciri defeats that big ass monster is beyond ridicoulus.Actually I don't know whats worse in that scene the CG or the way she did it
I thought the cgi was fine lol. What shows are you watching with excellent cgi? Or am I just watching things on low def, small screens?
Idk why it was too ridiculous considering 1) it’s a monster that’s not real, 2) it might even be a vision that’s not real, 3) we see characters defeat all sorts of wild stuff. When the physics theoretically wouldn’t work at all, even with Geralt.
Surprised a sand worm didn’t show up 😂
Do you normally watch films for the first time in a lit room with pausing to speak and search the world-wide web? This was a boring episode, and the authors felt the need to spice it up with Balls of Steel, which you didn't notice.
What makes this desert scene a drag for me is that I know it or most of it is not real because we're getting these jumps to dream conversations. We hadn't seen the desert before and the whole setting looked like an illusion. And none of the action would matter once it is over.
You'd think the monster's armor would better attached the rest of him. She would have kept her mouth shut if she was thirsty. And not eat vile shit like insect that you skipped over on the first or second day. The patching up fo the horse's wound was obviously ineffective. There was an echo to her voice without any tall structures.
Her incredibly jump (without food) was to show off the strength of women, and the appearance of Falka was to give voice to people of Pakistan or whatever.
I was expecting these final episodes to be amazing, since that's what they kept hinting at. But it's not amazing at all, it's really boring. I skipped all the Ciri scenes so pretty much the entire episode because I wasn't interested in this. I knew it was coming, it's part of the books as well and it's important to Ciri's development, or at least it should be. I don't see why with the show.
You don’t see why the show included scenes from the books? You’re the one who read them! For one, you didn’t know why these scenes would be important to her development until she developed, yes? So why complain that you don’t know why the show about Ciri needed to include scenes to develop her character when time hadn’t passed yet so you literally couldn’t know why ? Lol. Or you can assume it’s for the same or similar reasons to the books.
And why do you dislike Ciri’s scenes if you slogged through all of those books, which have a good amount of Ciri in them? I get having had enough of her, or disliking part do the books, but why watch the show, expect it to be “amazing,” and then be disappointed when it adheres to the book which you didn’t expect-though you also saw it coming? Or are you just watching for the action? The books have mostly non action, yes? A lot of the show isn’t pure action also.
The Ciri stuff should have been 15 minutes tops. Very disappointed with this episode.
It was 1 of 7 chapter in the book. So its long acurate
Sometimes movies and even tv shows are slow. Just because you didn’t enjoy it or don’t have the patience for it, doesn’t mean it should have been edited down. It doesn’t mean it was bad. Again I do get being disappointed especially after last episode. But people have strange expectations for this show, a show that constantly does the unexpected.
