    Chorus:
William Zanzinger, who at twenty-four years
Owns a tobacco farm of six hundred acres
With rich wealthy parents who provide and protect him
And high office relations in the politics of Maryland
Reacted to his deed with a shrug of his shoulders
And swear words and sneering, and his tongue it was snarling

I think this version is even better than the original score. May be because I heard this before listening to the original one while watching RTR. I love the bass, I love the tune, I love Dylan's energy and the era when his voice sounded the best.

I wanted to leave home from December 1978. But I'd no idea how to do that at 15 with no money. So I quite sensibly in mho waited to pass some exams first. Then I knew I could go anywhere n the good ole British government would pay for my education. Might as well take something back after 800 years of colonisation, oppression, second class citizenship, etc. So I went on my own to a Dublin university which until the 70s Catholics were excommunicated for going to. My dad encouraged me to go there. My mum did everything in her power to stop me. So Wilde n Beckett went there as Protestant. I only went cos it was far enough away from home n the north and in the brochures in my sixth form careers service place I was astonished by the beauty of the place. Cobbled front square. Right in the heart of Dublin. Been there since 1500s when Queenie Elizabeth I started it up.

My emails, gadgets, phone all compromised. I’ve blocked and changed what I can but I want a new phone n iPad and laptop. Had to change phone and back account details. They’re all over everything and I’m having to try to stay one step ahead. I was pursued out of NI the night I left as far as The Moy by men trying to race me in fast cars. No wonder I got sick and missed my boat.

How many roads must a George Floyd walk down
Before you call him a man?.... (The answer is (still) blowing in the wind...

The kind of music that made Boston famous. Now it’s just full of greedy techies and sad little rich men with summer places on cape cod who fly in.

William Zanzinger killed poor Hattie Carroll
With a cane that he twirled around his diamond ring finger
At a Baltimore hotel, society gath'rin'
And the cops were called in, and his weapon took from him
As they rode him in custody down to the station
And booked William Zanzinger for first-degree murder
But you who philosophize, disgrace and criticize all fears
Take the rag away from your face, now ain't the time for your tears
William Zanzinger, who at 24 years, owns a tobacco farm of 600 acres
With rich wealthy parents who provide and protect him
And high office relations in the politics of Maryland
Reacted to his deed with a shrug of his shoulders
And swear words and sneering, and his tongue it was snarling
In a matter of minutes, on bail was out walkin'
But you who philosophize, disgrace and criticize all fears
Take the rag away from your face, now ain't the time for your tears
Hattie Carroll was a maid of the kitchen
She was 51 years old and gave birth to 10 children
Who carried the dishes and took out the garbage
And never sat once at the head of the table
And didn't even talk to the people at the table
Who just cleaned up all the food from the table
And emptied the ashtrays on a whole other level
Got killed by a blow, lay slain by a cane
That sailed through the air and came down through the room
Doomed and determined to destroy all the gentle
And she never done nothing to William Zanzinger
And you who philosophize, disgrace and criticize all fears
Take the rag away from your face, now ain't the time for your tears
In the courtroom of honor, the judge pounded his gavel
To show that all's equal and that the courts are on the level
And that the strings in the books ain't pulled and persuaded
And that even the nobles get properly handled
Once that the cops have chased after and caught 'em
And that the ladder of law has no top and no bottom
Stared at the person who killed for no reason
Who just happened to be feelin' that way without warnin'
And he spoke through his cloak, most deep and distinguished
And handed out strongly for penalty and repentance
William Zanzinger with a six-month sentence
Oh, but you who philosophize, disgrace and criticize all fears
Bury the rag deep in your face for now's the time for your tears
