It’s been 15 years since those days in uni lol. Like this video! Altho I do remember vividly that our pharmaceutics professor taught us in formulation class that we should always stir inward. That way we can control our energy and avoid splashes that tend to happen in outward stir movement.
You should not use glass mortar because it is too smooth to produce the proper reduction of the internal phase , you should use wedgwood or porcelain mortar
What's different between the 2 emulsions which we prepare by wet and dry gum ? The end emulsion result is a same in both I meant its different in preparation step but at end both methods produce same emulsion??!
there is no active drug or other excipients how we incorporate our drugs and colourants in this type of method ...and there is always a ratio of 4parts oil: 2parts water: 1 part emulsifying agent to form primary emulsion and then will make up final volume up to the mark...kindly answer this query i am highly thankful to you.
Looking for a natural alternative to polysorbate 80 for my facial oil cleanser than rinses off completely with only water (because the water emulsifies the mixture). Can I use a gum (like xanthan gum)? Thanks.
Hello jacob I was wondering why use wet gum/dry gum, i have an instruction were wet gum is used to produce lecithin from wet gum solvation, but i have no idea why i have to use wet gum instead of just the oil in which lecithin is in, anyhelp on why wet gum is used for purification of lecithin from soybeans? TIA
I have a question, please help me T.T With Parafilm oil emultion, why we prefer WET gum method. I got a task, and my teacher asked that. How is WET gum method better than DRY gum one? Thanks in advance.

So much better than how the RxPrep book explains it.
Yes it is! Lol

Thank you for the demonstration
Hi ! Thank u for this video
I have questions, how do we calculate the strength in dry and wet gum method ?
Thank u again 🙏
Am I mistaken or there were phase separation in the first emulsion?
Thankful for your video to be here 💗
Thank you so much 💜
Great video thanks
Thank you so much 💙
water phase should hydrate for a period before adding the oil phase
Thanks!

thank you...will it bind in vinegar ...?
How many parts of oil to gum and water?

Thank you for making these videos, they are extremely helpful

+Mads Bødker Christensen You use one over the other depending on which phase (oil or water) you want your drug to be in.
In dry gum method... Oil is first triturated with gum or Gum is first triturated with Oil
What is the correct sentence... please reply
thnx bruv
can humans consume this
what nature of oil u used to make it? fixed, mineral or volatile?
+Daim Mehmood I am pretty sure I used canola oil.
+Jacob Vogel ah so u used fixed oil thanks man!
Thanks man! Reading through the comments is the best, I didn't even know there were three types! Gon go to bed smarter tonight, 😂💯🫡

عگبيش؟! عگب ما تصفرنا بالمختبر؟ عود ليش محد دزلنا هالفيديو قبل اللاب🙂
those are the primary emulsions :) thank u
Hi, What are the ratios you are using? Or the measurements for each ingredient.
Lauren Servin since he used fixed oil it will be 4:2:1 ratio of oil to water to acacia
What exactly is gum ? gum = emulsifying agent ?
Its basically a w/o or o/w emulsion, with acacia gum. So yep, its the emulsifier.
white powder you are using tell me the name of that powder ???
Acacia gum, I think it was spray dried? From Medisca.
Acacia Gum.

Phương Võ more stable
As dry gum is more stable and remain in good condition for more days than wet gum
really great iam having an emulsion exam today :\
I'm having mine 7 yrs later
For emulsion what you use for powder??
Acacia 🙂
Why we keep trituration in same direction
Hi could you make a grease lubricant with this method?
Which method is better in exam ?
Ahmed elsayed depends on what oil u use
What is that powder
Abdullah Rangrej acacia gum powder
My board exam is tomorrow, this helps a lot. Thanks
how was it?
Can you add antioxidants?
What is the powder?
John Hepworth Acacia, NF
Gum arabic
I thought u r suppose to hear crackling sound?
which oil is used in anti fungal preparation???
probably the latter for external application
Part one wet gum emulsion
Part two dry gym emulsion
You make it easier than it sounds😪
that is not what an emulsion should look like.
When does the clicking sound takes place while on tirturating. ..
I thought u r suppose to hear crackling sound?
Yes you are, but my video is dubbed over. No sound from the compounding made it into the video.
Ahh I see..tq
I understand ing this video
