We wanted to put assumptions to the test to see what we're missing out on because we're so busy assuming we already "know" a person. Join us as we discover why you should never judge a book by it’s cover in our series 'Tell My Story.'
We are all conditioned with certain biases. In this experiment, we challenged these biases by asking people to guess their blind date partner's interests and past experiences based only on their partner's appearance. When they learned their partner's real answers, they were shocked by how wrong they were.

They are so cute. Too sweet is usually what women say when we don't want to say boring or think the guy wouldn't be able to make her feel safe. Why does it have to either get with someone you're not feeling or you deserve to be mistreated? She, like every other person, should get what she actually wants. That doesn't have to mean a bad guy but someone she likes. I think we get wrapped up in the idea that just because a man likes us we're wrong for not liking them back.
I’ve told guys I didn’t like that they were too sweet. But it’s not because I’m into bad boys. Too sweet just means they’re not exciting. They’re not the type to keep you on your toes and make you fall or swoon for them. You can tell they like you a lot and so it takes the chase away. The initial chase you crave in order for attraction to grow. Sometimes a chase is not necessary if he’s already physically attractive to you and you vibe well. But if you don’t find a guy attractive and he’s super into you, it’s going to be hard for any woman to fall for a guy like that.

So one of my friends posted that she need a tatted up, bad boy with a job and her friend said "no you need a guy in a suit and a career". I was always "the good guy" then I met my wife who wanted a good guy. 20 yrs of marriage, I guess the good guy won. I got angry when she said that to him about being a good guy.
I have been historically a nice guy, but have been taken advantage of - not so much in romantic relationships - as in a couple church situations where people think they can get away with treating other people poorly and unethically because they are "leaders". That's made me a bit of a "bad boy" but I'm my own kind. There's a few people who would love to stigmatize me as a "bad boy" because I stood up to them, but most know me as a nice guy. So I think that made me a nice guy with an attitude. Like look out if you mess with my family etc. If someone did try to take advantage of my niceness I would just politely bail out before things got really heated. I had been a "nice guy" for too long - bottling crap up and then letting it explode. No more. People will know where they stand with me, and that I am a genuine soul who cares a lot about people and a good listener. Sure, I can still get pissed off but since it's no longer bottled up it's not off the chain. Guys struggle a lot with emotional crap and what to do with it. I think that's what makes bad boys. We're a lot more vulnerable than you think. I also think I have a bit of a gut (not a lot - need to lose about 25 lbs) and I think that's fair for a woman to want a guy who looks fit. Completely. Women are great. God made 'em, God loves 'em and I would treat one accordingly.

Give her a few years of dating guys who aren’t “too nice” - she’ll start understanding the true value of these nice guys: loyalty, consideration, compassion, understanding. That’s who you want to stick around long-term, not the exciting bad boys.

She missed out on so much. I think her depression came from being filtered and not being able to be creative having structure to the point where it was so routine for her .I think that her not being in that religion Per say anymore has messed her up. I think she’s more free than ever but it something from the religion is holding her back. I grew up Christian and now I consider myself spiritual guide as well as witchcraft but in a positive way. I believe meditation helps and one with mother nature is key. I feel what she’s going through..What we all are finding acceptance finding our place and what feels right to us without having guilt I feel like were betraying something. I could be wrong though.
