Most modern teams, especially teams like Barca, Man C & even Liverpool.. their strategy is for slow kill. They use pressing to increase their chances to score, they use possession & chance creation to score... if we subjectively put a number on that, they keep that intensity in possession, pressing or w/e at 80% most of the game.
Real Madrid is different, they are an efficient predator that do not care if their intensity is at 30% most of the game, if they press or not, if they have possession. Their goal is the goal, in 1min, few seconds or few moments... their aim to go for the throat, for the fatal kill that guarantees to do more damage than the team that had most possession, chances or who pressed the most.
Real Madrid can also change to press, keep possession, tiki taka, link up, counter or what ever. They study their opponent like they did in the final, now & last season in CL... till they find the perfect way to go for the fatal hit. The players themselves have to learn mid-game how to do it & what to do, while other teams/players rely on philosophy, coaching & etc... if the possession or their style doesn't work, they crumble like NPC whose coding goes wrong reacting when a gamer does something it was not programmed to react to.

This is it. The capacity to study your opponent in game is a skill that Modric, Benzema and Kroos are masters at. The footballing intelligence in that core group is off the charts. It can be explained with tactics actually. Leagues are better suited for tactical teams and managers while champions league are better suited for flexible teams like Real Madrid and managers like Ancelotti and Zidane which are not so tactical or follow a specific playing style, this allows them and the team to "think outside the box" and adapt their tactics depending on the situation. But of course, the mentality also plays a huge role.

Liverpool v Madrid and United v Barca in the same week. True heavyweights of European football we rarely get to see facing off. If only we could some how discard the rubbish format imposed by a truly inept, greedy uefa and replace it with some sort of European league that pits the heavyweights against each other more often. That would be SUPER but to my knowledge no such league has ever been proposed and probably never will. Even though it would be bloody brilliant

I'm not saying they need to play against each other every week but surely you'd rather see the big European teams face off more often than games like Utd v Young Boys or Madrid v Sheriff?

@@highnoon7097 you’d have to give me a better idea of it cuz what I’ve heard is the teams leave their own league to join such super league in which they’ll play each other every week and such. I enjoy football as it is now and sure there might be duds every now and then but that’s why when it is time to face a big team you get really excited cuz it doesn’t happen often. That’s just the way I see it

@@cesarmendoza5600 what you've heard is wrong. Or to put it more accurately, you're yet another incredibly lazy person who can't spend a few minutes researching something before having an opinion on it. It worries me that people like you are allowed to vote/ have children/ operate machinery.
The super league proposals have never, I repeat NEVER suggested that any team leaves their own domestic league. Where are you getting this nonsense from???? Seriously do you not question the information and apply a bit of logic?
The super league is a replacement competition to the champions league. You're aware that the champions league takes place on weekdays aren't you? Whereas domestic leagues generally take place on weekends. The super league just replaces those weekday games. That's it. UEFA is an inept and greedy organisation holding the sport back, the sooner they're taken out of the equation the better.
It's absolute madness you lot don't even know what the super league is but you've all decided you hate it. You're like the football equivalent of brexit voters, you have no idea what it is yet you all hold a strong hatred for it.

If Liverpool were ever as good as the bias pundits and media make them out to be ! In history they would be up there with Real Madrid and Manchester United but there not and never will be !
