HISTORY it will keel
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Atoman
I know im asking randomly but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid lost the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
Everyone in this show is so nice and respectful.
Michael Jones they’re told to be and when they’re not, there are retakes where they’re asked to pat eachother on the back.
thats actually why i like to watch it.
Yeah, really respectful. Especially the part where this guy's sword broke in half, and the professors where trying to hold on their laughs and giggles.
@@finechina. so what ?
Michael Jones that’s because if they aren’t nice then they become the dummies to test the weapons on
Daves review was post failure was very respectful. The judges cringe as soon as it broke was comedy lol, doug had to hold it in
“Oop there goes you cushion” is probably the best quote in this show I’ve ever seen
It can be used in so many situation 😜
How dare you to say that even with using ''probably''
THE BEST QUOTE IN THIS SHOW
IT WILL KEEEEL
It was a real sneaky way of testing the blade lol
Cop:Excuse me Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?
"Because this car can keel?"
😂
No keel
Cop: no sir, its because it has no wHEEELL
This actually made me laugh
Police: "no. Because it will keel. Now get out. You are drunk."
4:15 "i think ive made a sword that TILLA LEHUN would be proud of"
old 'tilla would be proud
@@Aragiss Mr. Lehun
"I won forged in far"
😂
My name is atilla and i cracking up here hahaha
3:38 oop there goes your cushion
*dog stares in disappointment*
sounds like Future
I hope these young guys that loose don't feel too bad. They have a lifetime to get better and they are already really good. Quite impressive
0:41 Auto-tune???
I see what you mean good ear
LMAO
😂😂😂😂😂
I think it's just the nature of his voice breaking.... but it does sound exactly like auto tune with the settings turned high. ;)
😂😂😂
The younger guy is so good at commentary shots. The producers must have loved him.
Well they try to be as respectful and loving but they are judges sometimes strictness comes
Really happy seeing him give constructive advice on the sword. Something he can learn from next time, but praising him for what he did right
Well, my blade too suffered a catastrophic failure one night where I could no longer continue due to being too drunk.
I failed in the strength test. Maybe my pommels were too cold.
So the lady asked me to sheath the sword and leave the forge.
I went home shamefully and with a broken pride.
And this did "keel" me.
Looooool
😂
Shantanu Kulkarni 😂
My condolences fallen soldier
Use wood for your palmal. When you make your blade, forge thick, grind thin. A thick blade is A great, strong blade. When it comes time to heat treatment, if your Forge is too small, use the tube method, it becomes one big hot oven!!!
Seeing such a beautiful sword break apart like that makes my soul sad! 😞
Especially when the judge testing it hits the mounting bracket the skull was attached to.
@@zaodedong9935 he didn’t hit the mounting bracket
Every Bladesmith: "I'm gonna make demascus!"
1084 and 15n20 Steel: *laughs in broken forge weld*
6:07 when he just turned his head in awe
The moral of the story: Take notes of where the failures occurred in your work and keep up the good work...
The old guys hilt is so weird what was he thinking
Well, they are asked to recreate a sword from 430 CE, but are shown an example that doesn't resemble anything from that time period...
Artistic license, I guess?
It looks pretty cool to me
Hypothalapotamus it’s the same with a lot of their more vague “historical” swords like the Charlemagne one
Not even just that it looks weird, it's unwieldy AF
more space for a larger and stronger tang
Doug has way too much fun with his “keel” tests
I wasn't looking at the video when he said "The tang is a little thin, but it should be working", but I still immediately thought "Yeah, that might snap buddy"
Heats up metal unevenly, quenches... bends over knee when cold and untempered...blade snaps because it’s brittle..
*Surprised pikachu face* :O
Nobody:
Contestant in literally every episode I’ve watched so far: “I’m gonna use Damascus”
That blade snapping right after heat treat hurt my soul
3:38-3:42 “There goes ya cushion”
I didn’t know hank hill made swords
“I sell swords and sword accessories “
Would you care to view my wares Bobby?
4:00 Jewels? Looks a lot more like plastic beads m8
doug loved the broken blade, you could how he was more disappointed than the competitor
4:55-4:58 young guy's reaction versus the older gent's xD
I love the way he says "it will keel"
all of us come here for that ;)
Did you know he actually says "keal"? Its something he came up with in his youth which means "keep everyone alive"
That’s got to be a T-Shirt somewhere. Just the words “It will kill” and have a matte style of his face.
Eet weel keel
the way it broke, thought it was going to impale the judge.
I thought so too. Glad it didn't happen.
Yeah I was thinkin that to and wondered if that has happened yet
this episode needs a remake urgently!
the judges don't care about looks. functionality is premium. durability, function, handling, balance, comfort and aesthetics, in that order.
When the blade broke look at Doug he looks like a schoolgirl looking at her friends like “Oh my god Tiffany did you see that?”. 😂😂
I like how they cheer up their opponents even though one of them will lose
When he was making his first blade, He should have pinned it, then tempered the blade. Often times when a blade warps, the heat treatment it’s not done correctly because he has to have an equal heat across the entire blade. He should have used the tube method to increase the length of the Forge, so he can heat treat it properly. I have seen this in the battle of the branches final round in the United States military episode.
This test is significant because, as history shows, 5th century horses hadn't yet evolved skin. These beasts would often attack head first, and if our courageous Hun warriors hadnt had adequate blades, they would've faced almost certain doom.
@Steven The Plug he made fun of how (un)realistic of a test it was to bash horse skulls with the swords.
@Steven The Plug you obviously didnt know because , "they hadn't evolved skin ? what do you mean" lmao
@Steven r/whoosh
Well other wise it would be very gross
That young dude sword was sharp asf
Always the same, one with an ugly, heavy, clumsy but strong weapon that win agaisnt a beautiful sharp well balanced weapon that breaks... I always feel cheated
Justin Dems the durability test is kind of dumb, they really should put armor on dummy’s because that was what they would use it for beating in people who had armor
I know, youd rather kill the riders than the horses
Swap handles and u have a perfect blade.
@@nova_4168 well, hitting a horse head does make sense, since it could happen on a horse back vs other cavalry. But other tests where they hit a battering ram for example were just dumb.
The sword that one wasn't really any of those things you said they were from what i could tell it was just strong but had a bad handle
The most brutal thing about the skull chop is when the blade hits the teeth, since enamel is so hard
The most surprising thing about the show to me is. That they can find so many different blades for the champions to try and reproduce. I haven't been able to even goggle some of them.
Not to mention many have been iconic blades from movies as well
I've often wondered if they give the contestants an info packet. Professional armerers may spend many thousands on an extensive library and have the time to research including trips to museums (Solingen for example).
4:00 Jewels? Looks a lot more like plastic beads m8
imitation jewell i guess
Family jewels
They look like traditional native American semi-precious gemstones. I'm guessing turquoise and either red coral or red jasper.
I wish they would show us the finished swords more
2:13
Deez Bawls
2:18
I got my Bawls
No chances that Attila's sword from the 400 AD was like that sword
Nope, it’s a Magyar sword from ~900.
Both these guys Proved Themselves!... Thanks for Sharing
@3:40 oop there go yer cushion
ImportJunkyz Currently 10 comments but I knew this was going to be one of them. 👍
2 things:
1 = At 8:21 you can see Doug's disappointment. He really liked that sword during the "keel" test and was rooting for it.
2 = At 3:07 I think that is the helm the Nord Barbarian wears during the cinematic trailers of Elder Scrolls Online.
I'm always watching this on TV and re-watching it on CZcams.🎶
Hi Layvee! We’re glad you enjoyed the clip! Thanks for being a #ForgedInFire fan!
Everytime Randy speaks I feel like saying WHAT at the end of every sentence
"it's hard" *breaks the sword bending it with his knee*
9:28 Wholesome that the judge is encouraging the guy to keep at it when he's feeling defeated.
Every blacksmith: I'm gonna go with the damascus to catch the judges eye's..
Demascus: yeah you thought!!
6:26 you have a Gifted art of craftsmanship great job
Poor kid seemed wounded by that. Shame, he did good work for the most part. Just one mistake born out of inexperience, really. Least they were all gracious with him.
Forged in fire isn't just for the money it's for the experience
Young man don't give up you make a great sword keep up..
Is it just me or does Dan look like jacksepticeye's amarican Cousin
Dude.....
yes
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking that
... im dan ....my friend has been saying that for 3 years now 🤣
He’s is actually my American cousin
Doug enjoys his job alot
When his sword broke you could see him turn pale and sick.
"I could go home" - standing in his living room
`:))))))))
Gandalf against a Hobbit !
I'm Turkish. And hail the soul of my great warrior Attila. May his soul be shady. May Allah bless you, amin...
The keel test was lit.
3:38 had me dying 😂 "oop, there goes your cushion"
I am your friendly neighbor Attila, Gods wrath, and I approve this sword.
The host and judges both have great personality ❤️
1:44 it probably broke because he was flexing it outside in the cold air.
I love the way the judges acted like nothing happened after the sword broke
Like it when he said “ will kill”
Damascus blade was a work of art
Most of the horse skull sword damage came from hitting the metal mounting bracket underneath the skull. It’s the coconuts all over again lol.
I agree. Those judges messed up by doing this type of test
Glad that you have noticed that fine - but crucial - detail in this episode, I've just highlighted that very same test >>discrepancy
I'm glad other people noticed that.
I mean swords are made to withstand metal too tho no offense against the blacksmith tho he was just a bit inexperienced
Doesn't matter, the blade shouldn't have broken. He made a mistake with the heat treatment - when burning out the handle, he heat up the tang of the already tempered blade. That's a great way to induce grain growth RIGHT at the neck of the hilt, where most of the stress builds up during a strike.
4:50 one head hit i LOVE this sword its my favorite
It isn't a hun sword , this is a magyar saber from the 10 th century ...
These challenges are tougher than usual
Aw man that is rough - though I've never seen a blade fail that way so it speaks to the overall quality of the piece - just a matter of one obscure box left unchecked. =p
When ever I watch this it always the first one is the one that wins
6:05
"What u said bout my mum?!"
“I said your momma was a-“
*decapitated*
With both dummy heads stacked on top of his own head, the young man might approach the Mississippi man's height.
1:48 cracked me up real good lol.. :'D
Joe Sprave's magnificent Ork sword would outperform 50 percent of all blades in this show
"This is my happy and excited face".
If there's one thing forged in fire has taught me is that damascus blades always survives strength tests
6:03 y he look at it like that though
Probably thought, "oh darn, I can't get one last strike in..."
The sword they were making in this video is what Count Dooku would have if he was a knight
OMFG SO TROOOO
At 1:15 it literally sounded like guy said ''Mars" but he said "Tomorrow" .
Lol
8:23 the reaction of judges ahahaha
Randy: I might make a purty pattern
Blade: NOPE
Dan: I might be able to bend it slightly to straighten it
Blade: NOPE
I hope those broken swords don’t go into the dumpster, i mean that sword is still long, it can still be made into a sword!
5:36
THNX ME LATER MATE
6:40
no, i dont think i will
It will keaaaall
Attila's sword broke in the battle, and Attilas believed that Mars was cursed..
I think everybody was rooting for the Old man once they shook hands.
Bro,,,,, the best
Judges: Your issue is your handle..
Other blade: snaps
Judges: Understandable. Have a great day
The kid's blade looked better, wish he had filled those gaps with some sort of sealant or something at least.
8:16 NANI
Through this show, it clearly depicts,
appearances are deceptive,
All beautiful looking things ain't strong, and vice versa 👌🏻
Randy kind of looks like he could be Christian Bale in disguise, preparing for his next role as a blade smith.
This isn't sword of mars, because it doesn't shoot a big laser and photon ray
4:28 when you have to kill the dummies like it's real human being
The way that man says balls 😂😂😂😂
Have them make a light saber
Nobody’s talking about how cool that name is,right out of some scifi novel
I thought the ability to make Damascus steel was lost to history but I’m not a blade smith by any means
