    STPs are interesting because they are, imo, the most introspective of the sensors. Ti is extremely complex and critical, trying to get down to the heart of things, to see behind things. Because of this, I often used to mistype STPs, especially ISTPs, as intuitives.

    as an ISTP i love driving. i speed and drive fast a lot so everyone thinks i'm crazy. but, even though i drive aggressive i'm very good at not disturbing others driving normally. i don't tailgate or cut in front of others and always give time after signaling. i realize it's because of the ISTP nature to not draw unwanted attention but also do our own thing at the same time. i drive crazier than my friends but i seem to have an instinctive understanding of how, when, and where to take risks. i've never been caught and all of my friends have either crashed or been pulled over. i love my type.

    I love speeding on my bicycle on a long winding road.. The thrill of the rush accelerates my mood whereas normally I would feel 50/50 on every circumstance. Of course I wouldn't be able do it at a busy road in the city which is why I've always like to visit the countryside where there are spacious grounds to do explore.

  • @Haitchpeasauce
    @Haitchpeasauce Před 9 lety +8

    So far I consider myself to be an ISTP, I love breaking down things or building things, and I get the impression that I intuitively understand how many things work.
    However, I also enjoy looking at instructions, diagrams and examples, to extract more nuanced detail, to find out whether the instructions offer a new insight into the workings of an object, to work out whether the object can be improved or refined or simplified. To me, instructions offer either a starting point or an additional resource in my thinking.
    Does this disqualify me from being ISTP?

      No.

    • @ThoughtProvokingVlogs
      @ThoughtProvokingVlogs Před 3 lety

      Could be ISTP or ISTJ. However you gotta look at the functions
      Istp = Ti-Se-Ni-Fe
      Istj = Si-Te-Fi-Ne
      Totally different. But both like to break things down. Istjs are more likely to want to read instructions due to their Si, Te, and Ne placements

    • @Haitchpeasauce
      @Haitchpeasauce Před 3 lety +1

      @@ThoughtProvokingVlogs a 5 year old comment, the ghosts of the past come back to haunt me! You might need to expand with your definition of how Si, Te and (curiously) Ne relate to wanting to read instructions; one could argue any cognitive function combination could give rise to a motivation to read instructions. I guess my take is the ISTJ might first looks to instructions to know the full way of things (Si-dom) and avoid risk of errors (Ne-inf), and then execute (Te-aux) in a satisfying way (Fi-ter). I could say that ISTP would resort to instructions if they need information (Se-aux) to form an idea of how things work (Ni-ter) if they don't already intuitively get it, and ultimately want to understand things for themselves (Ti-dom) rather than rely on others (Fe-inf). I could be way off so please feel free to disagree/discuss. Personally I think functions and behaviour can be slippery to define even after looking at Jung and then throw in all the internet articles, forums, and typology CZcamsrs.

      @Haitchpeasauce Před 3 lety +1

      @@ThoughtProvokingVlogs I have not stopped internally debating the functions and their stacking for the better part of a decade, it's never a settled matter. Perhaps this is a highly Ti thing to do; forever building and testing my understanding, nagged by doubts about being proven wrong or exposed for overlooking something. My best bet is still ISTP with demon-Se; I don't go skydiving, not a stoic samurai, not a mechanic or glass blowing artisan, and am definitely not Ni-dom visionary. Stereotypes are so unhelpful and nobody neatly fits definitions.
