  • Busuu is a language learning app and web platform where you can learn up to 12 languages, including Russian, my first language. In this video I'm giving a native speakers opinion on how good the Russian Busuu course is and whether it is good for total beginners.
Here is a quick summary of the video:
    - Busuu is good for beginners. They teach Russin beginning with the most basic things such as the alphabet and reading rules.
    - I like how the course is structured. The lessons are bite-sized, optimized for learning on your own.
    - The free plan does not have some important features, and I would recommend you to use Premium Plus (there are 3 plans, I'd recommend the most expensive one, it is not really expensive though).
    - I don't think you'd be a B2 Russian SPEAKER if you finish this course and do NOTHING else. You'll probably have some basic vocabulary and grammar and be able to communicate at a basic level. Although, it is just my guess.

I just realized that I say "curse" instead of "course" sometimes O_o Sorry about that, but just to be clear, this video is about Russian course, not Russian curse.

@@joeydepalmer4457 There's an instagram account Curse Like a Russian, they make interesting translations of Russian curse words. I have a video review of it czcams.com/video/AdSAnMx1LgM/video.html

appreciate the time you took to make this video, it seems like busuu has updated their russian program as it was very subpar back in 2018 (as far as I remember). looks like busuu will be a good choice as a resource to learn russian.

I haven't done a real research but I guess there are not many resources for Russian learners. This one looks quite good.

The Russian alphabet only took 2 weeks to get used to
Compared to the Japanese script Hiragana and Korean alphabet (Hangul)
Which took anywhere from 1 month to 3

Does one subscription cover all the languages ?

So I tried getting a subscription for busuu but after trying to purchase it, it says there was an error so I thought it didn't work but here I am the next day learning it took money for the whole year worth of subscription and I don't even have the subscription. I was wondering if you knew anything about that or ever heard about that being a problem. To shorten things apparently Busuu took money and I don't have my subscription.

Sorry to hear that, I think you should contact their tech support so that they look into that. In my case, I just paid for one month, and that's it, everything went ok.

@@sergeysvids2756 I had the same thought but I wanted to see if I could get some help from people who have used it, I went with the 12 months plan not the monthly and I was not aware that the whole year was payed for all at once instead of month by month

@@xclrtr5747 Oh, I see, yes, they charge for the whole year if you choose the 12 month plan. It is strange that you don't have your subscription, though.

@@xclrtr5747 This is a little tricky part in many online services, they do say that they charge you for the whole year but people still might misunderstand it. Don't forget that you are subscribed and you will be charged for another year, when your subscription ends. I'd recommend you to cancel it now or later, just in case you forget about it. Your plan should be still active until the end of the paid period.
I subscribed and paid for 1 month, then cancelled subscription, because I don't want to forget about it and have a suprise payment in a month.
What language are you learning, by the way?
