121 would be making good time, arriving at Greenville shortly after 7:30. Leading would be heritage unit 7011. We would chase to Moosehead, and miss them at Tarratine. Going to Jackman, we could tell that 121 had never arrived in the yard. Moving back towards Tarratine, we would get word of 121 derailing at milepost 56. Luckily, the crew survived. The train had derailed due to a washout. 7011 quickly caught fire under the lumber loads.

Wow, can’t believe you caught it right beforehand! That’s definitely a catch for the record books.
I'm grateful the crew made it out alive of that wreck. I get a lot of people are upset about 7011 becoming a total loss but at least several other heritage units like her still exist. You can't replace a person like you would a loco.
So true man! :/
Wow Is Sad CP 7011
An "Incredible Catch" by Maine Central Railfan!!!! This Brownsville, Maine CP crew was incredibly lucky indeed! In fact, the durable Progress Rail / EMD cab on the SD70ACU may be exactly what saved them on that horrible day. It is unfortunate we lost the first two of those locomotives on that day (7011 and 7005). I'm happy I got to see them both several times during their short life. 🧐
Great video !! How fortunate that you were able to film part of the last run of these destroyed units. James.
Does this make you one of the last people to see 7011 before the wreck?
Yes, I was one of the last people to see it.
@Maine Central Railfan, did you see it derail?
@@West_Kootenay_railfan No, as the derailment was in a very wooded area.
great video of this film you made very impressed by the outlook.
While I am saddened in losing 7011. CP can choose another unit to paint up. The crew getting out alive just means in my book the locomotive in the end did it's job. Rest easy big girl you will be missed.
Great catch very lucky great video thanks
Great video. I subscribed to your channel as well!
awesome setting
I didn't see a disaster, not that I'm in to train wrecks. I enjoy a good train video. Great close up in the beginning.
Because the disaster happened afterwards......
Because it happened miles west of the station.....
I’ve been watching videos on your channel for quite a while - weird, I had been wondering if you were filming on this date. Sad situation, indeed!
Only thing left of 7011 is bits of the cab and the radiator. Glad the crew made it out safe.
Very nice catch! You've earned a new Sub
I'll miss 7011. I hope they can manage to fix her and put her back in operation. Very glad no one hurt.
Pretty much everything, but the cab was obliterated in the crash
So Sad CP 7011
Just saw photos which got released, all thats left is the nose
Sad to see 7011 destroyed but as long as the crew was not harmed in the wreck then that’s good.
I enjoyed the video so I subscribed.
Great Catch CP 7011 The Engineer Crew Made it Out Alive of A Train Wreck Keep Upset CP 7011 He Fail Crash Total Loss is Sad Day
The Greenville station looks like a great place to railfan. I'll have to visit this summer. Real shame about 7011, will we see her back and the same scheme ?
All but the radiator of 7011 melted after it caught fire.
@@MaineCentral321 😟 It's a good thing the crew made it out and railfans were able to help them get emergency services alerted.
There goes the paint job!
Nice 👍
Sucks to see this beauty destroyed but at least the crews were okay
Some railfans were close on site when accident happen ? I heard they rescue the crew.
Yes, some railfans were able to help. I wasn’t very familiar with the area, and I had my scanner off. I didn’t even realize the train had derailed until about an hour later. By the time I was near the derailment site, the crew had already been rescued.
so the Greenville cam was taken down, will it ever be back up again?
Unfortunately, I don’t know when it will return.
It should be back up today, Chester cam is live again.
So that’s who they were honking for on the camera..
You never know. video recording CN switching cars at Port Saint John Potash terminal the last thing I expected was a derailment.
I love watching this Live cam. When will it be back?:
It went back up right after you commented.
id say nice catch but i dont know if i should 💀
Maybe not a "nice" catch but certainly an interesting one!
Can I use a part of this video (optional)
Moments before disaster EP 1
If only CP buys 2 more ex UP SD9043MACs and have them rebuilt into SD70ACUs
Is there anymore to get?
Union Pacific has a handful of them waiting for an unknown future, ( They are in storage )
Let’s be real Canadian pacific and Norfolk southern were the only class 1s to have SD70ACUs, wish the others had them
Do you ever know if this locomotive was a total loss?
Yes, all that is left is the radiator.
What Disaster ??
The three engines and about half a dozen cars derailed just up the line. The engines were destroyed, especially the lead unit. The crew was still able to make it out with minor injuries.
The Disaster Caused By Kereta Alien Indonesia And Their Minions With Their Antics. KAI From Indonesia Must Be BLAMED For THIS!
Act of sabotage or what?
What does the video description say?

Yes. Mother Nature decided it was time to get back to business of ruining the lives of mankind.
Washout.
This stinks. Why couldn't it had been a ratty old unit instead of a heritage unit?
Bad camera angle view
Like you would've done any better
Feel free to head up and shoot your own video and post it for us.
As if you could do any better LOL.
Gonna quit using rail keep wrecking.
A pointless video
