- Chris Paul (The Phoenix Suns) joins JJ Redick and Tommy Alter for an all-time episode of 'The Old Man and The Three.' On the episode, Chris talks about why he wanted to play in Phoenix, reuniting with Monty Williams, recruiting Jae Crowder, playing with The Oklahoma City Thunder, Lou Dort, the defensive schemes they ran in Houston with James Harden that allowed them to almost beat The Golden State Warriors, getting injured on the cusp of going to The NBA Finals, his prior beef with JJ Redick in college, playing with JJ on The Clippers and so much more.

This podcast is truly a goldmine. Its fresh to see NBA players talk about things that they don't usually say in the media
this and all the smoke are my favorites
Media full of snakes
Agreed. Aaron Rodgers is on Pat McAfee’s podcast every Tuesday for like 45 minutes. It’s pretty dang good.
@@elbolsillo pat mcafee seems like a whole show that you could see on ESPN, this seems like a conversation about basketball with your favorite basketball player.
Also not to mention pat always wants to be the center of attention
Agreed!
obsessed with him calling JJ “Bubs” 😂😂
"You remember that Bubb?" 😂
I love how obvious it is that he’s trying to get a reaction from it 😂
It's as if he calls him BOY n expects JJ to lose it at some point 🤣
@Brian short for Bubba bro.. people need to research JJ and CP history.. he been calling him Bubba since the clipper days lol
@@junkyvision713 I read actually that its because of jason Williams calling everyone bubbs while jj and matt were on Orlando, so when they were reunited in LA that nickname stuck
“As we found out from Paul George this week” got me 😹
would you mind enlighten me on it ? I did not quite get that when they talk about that.
Man I really hope CP3 wins a ring before he retires.
he just got traded to the suns in the twilight years of his career, think that ship has sailed. maybe he can help them make a playoff run though
Fax
he wont as a player unfortunately.. maybe as a coach or gm. he will continue in the league long after he is done playing.
If he signing to a contender for a veterans minimum that's his only way of competing for a title. He's earning way too much money to fit on a championship contender
@@junkyvision713 he can sign a minimum with a contending team after his contract so that he has a chance to win a ring
JJs content is a lot better then these shows like undisputed and first take. I think when JJ retires he would be one of the best sports analysts/sports media personalities in the industry. He’s already building up a good resume to get a show with fox sports or espn when he retires.
I think you’re right on all of this but he is building his own brand and could start his own business. The networks would censor him.
Nope, i would like him to do this thing in youtube only. If he ever gets a show on TV, he will only be like the other sport analyst.
I agree but admittedly when you're on tv there's a lot more limitations and constraints than on podcast or CZcams
Love the questions that actually matter and not just the producer driven click bait questions.
I dont think players really need "resume" lol
guess imma start calling everyone, "bubbs" now lmaoo
what does it even mean? Non-american here.
@@8andre3 Bub is just slang for a guy friend, similar to bro, dude, etc.
@@8andre3 i was thinking maybe thats his nickname for JJ but maybe that too haha ^
Bubs anywhere else on the planet is a nickname for baby or babe lol
CP3 clearly is a fan of Trailer Park Boys. That's way she goes Bubs.
chris paul one of my fav players ever
@Hoop Club LOL
Mines too
On mee
Who cares
Gonna go down as one of the greatest to never win like chuck, Ewing, Stockton, malone and many more.
Nobody:
CP3: you know be bubs
JJ, you have legitimately become one of the most engaging and positive hosts of any sports or general topic podcast. Thanks for your genuine interest in others and your wonderful content. #LEGEND
In comparison with other bball podcasts, here guys talk about actual details of the game which is pure gold.
Yes!!!
Ay- the talk with the POINT GOD HIMSELF, That was a good noti to get
God*
POINT GOD*
god*
@@robertostone1864 Oh yeah, I fixed it
yup, I never really watch the full 1 hour long ep. but this one is a must watch
Speaking as a life-long Rockets fan, CP is far and away my favorite player of all time. Truly the Point God. I was devastated when the front office shipped him out because he hurt James’ feelings.
Always felt when they were in the playoffs they were a more potent team when harden was on the bench and they fully gave the keys to cp..they dealt the wrong guy
Does Chris know this is going out on the internet? It's like he's just having a private zoom call with JJ lol
Thats the beauty of this podcast
I mean you can tell by the cuts that they did alot of editing lol he probably said alot more that we didnt get to hear cuz he was so comfortable with JJ
Listening to the first 10 minutes of this and I can already say that CP3 is the Einstein of basketball
This whole show is an education in hooping
put him rondo and lebron in room
@@mason_mac That'd be great
Absolutely love how this is all about hoops and not gossip
That CP3 and Redick backcourt was dope
This was an amazing interview. The players are going to put these all hype, repetitive, speculative ESPN “journalists” out of business. This is journalism. Salute
Damn listening to this pod i wish CP3 somehow would of ended up in Miami, that would of been such a perfect fit with Jimmy, Bam and the Heat Culture. Some straigh ruff ryders man
Facts
I was saying that during that trade talk back then with OKC
Or clippers or bucks
Chris making too much money miami wouldnt sign him and take away their cap flexibility for the future
I’m so glad my Suns got him. But he would’ve been amazing in Miami. Might even put them over the hump to win a title.
Not enough respect is given to that 17-18 Rockets Team. Only team to bring a legendary team to a game 7.
Right?! Every one else got swept even LeGM. The disrespect to Harden these days.
@@janreldelacruz1674 Harden been down bad ever since Paul left
@@janreldelacruz1674 team lost the legendary status as soon as durant joined tho lmfao
To be fair the from the mud clippers took them 6
Forreal, I actually thought they shoulda won that, just too unfortunate CP got hurt, I just think there was no way Houston was gonna miss 27 3s if CP was in Game 7.
The greatest Point God of my generation still one of the greatest to this day don't sleep on Phoenix the way people slept on OKC last year
PHX is cool , people would be silly to sleep on em this year, but they probably gonna be first or second round exit too
@@Jackson-mi3dr second round exits
Ofc they not making wcf
lakers in 4
Isaiah and Nash and Magic better.
@@strikeout77777 dont jinx us
People forget the rockets led by chris paul were up 3-2 against the greatest team of all time, and they were about to knock them out. I swear that will be one of the greatest series in history
Ye cause he’s a genius.
🤦🏾♂️
The PointGod himself can’t wait to grab a beer and watch this

I was just looking for a podcast to listen to and couldnt find anything and JJ Reddick comes through
Haha same ...AND it's CP3!
@Master You ever checked out the Joe Budden Podcast? or All Def Digital? They have great content. :)
All the smoke, knucklehead, and road tripping are good ones
Chris love him some JJ. Respect the hell out that.
This was a fantastic interview. I can listen to Chris Paul talk about basketball all day
Tommy took a backseat on this one damnnn. I like it though, this is how an anchor should be. Never take spotlight just to let ereone know you there. Keep it flowing.
I was going to say this.
Exactly. You don’t have to stuff the stat sheet to impact the game.
How are all of yall's profile pics brown 😂
Totally
Absolutely love how CP hypes JJ. Fully deserved recognition
Christopher "the point god" Paul
Christopher “the point god” “bubbs” Paul
JJ aren't you supposed to be at training camp right now😂😂😂😂😂
Oh man, I bet he totally forgot! This podcast is overwhelming his life I think!
Most likely this podcast was made prior to he camp lol.

Solid interview! 💪 CP's n JJ'S individual knowledge of the game is impressive. Watching them interact is awesome...
GET KYLE LOWRY ON THE POD
Seriously
He'd be good for this
Drinking game take a shot everytime CP says Bubs 😂 cutest episode since
Just wanted to say before I've even listened to this episode, you guys are really setting standards of podcast quality and it has become one of my favourites. I love the insights from JJ and him being able to relate to the guests and Tommy providing us with the outside perspective as us fans do, and it works great. Hopefully you guys can keep it up once the season starts!
I like how the co-host has held the mic to his mouth for 30 straight minutes and hasn't said one word yet.
He is one of the best co hosts because he doesn’t try to insert himself into the convo for the sake of it, he lets the conversations flow with JJ which is why these interviews feel fluent
@@OwlxArt I don't care. I just gave the man a compliment. Just because you don't see an lol at the end, doesn't mean I'm being disrespectful
@@njreal8233 seems like he's agreeing with you
Lol😂😂😂😂 I realized that also
Yeah I don't like the dude from no chill podcast I feel like it'd be better if he hung back and let gil run the conversation
Love that Chris is helping out and still mentoring sga. I'm Canadian so always rooting for our Canadian guys in the league and Cp3 is one of the best pg's ever so that's awesome.
major respect for CP
YOOOOO
JJ, your NBA interviews are the best. Seriously. I learn more about players I previously hated and realize they are not what I thought they were. Thank you.
I really like how all the players are so relaxed talking with jj, we get to see a more honest version of players like cp3 that you don’t see because most of media is so aggressive
Gotta love how cp is so good at basketball, he gets away with being an annoyance.

Yay thank you for coming to Phoenix CP3!!!! We happily accept you here! I haven’t been this excited for my team since I got into the game! (Granted only two years ago but it’s really become all I care about)
I just wanna say this to me, was by FAR the best episode! I was hooked on every word Chris the man🔥
This podcast is great! it humanizes NBA players! keep up the good work!!
These podcasts are so clutch for Quarantine🙏🏽
props to CP for opening up and having the humility and vulnerability to talk about that GSW series loss.
Every time Chris asked JJ a question he didn’t have the answer 😂
I LOVE THESE IM SO GLAD U CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA
Stoked for the season 🔥🔥🔥
Phx is gonna be a fun group to watch. If they get in the playoffs cp3, booker and ayton will make some noise
this aged VERY well ahahah
dude this was like a master class level . Love it CP3 just taught
This pod was insane thank y’all for this
Love your podcasts. Love the technical insights even more than how well you both interact w the guests.
He taught me a lot about basketball in this interview Cuz I’ve never played it but I love watching it
CP has top tier basketball IQ - he could coach a team and run PG simultaneously.
YESSSSSSSS I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR CHRIS PAUL TO GO ON A PODCAST LIKE THIS
Amazing guests and episode as usual!!
Jj is paying tommys rent with all of these ads
This the best basketball podcast out there, you can tell everyone respects JJ
I love this interview so much, how in depth they got about the knowledge of basketball amzed me , i found myself learning and enjoying.
Chris Paul and JJ let me get an interview , i want to know more
I used to love playing 2k with the CP3, West, and Chandler NOLA team. Definitely an underrated team.
Fascinating to listen to these two with their 20 years of history together, just talkin’ hoops. This is like a basketball masters class you get to audit for free.
Imagine Lebron and Chris on the same team that so much attention to detail its scary
JJ has one of, if not the best, player podcasts in the league. They cover it all. Personal preparation, culture and most importantly X's and O's. I love hearing about the plays guys run and how teams adjust the playbook to player strengths. What works and what doesn't. This particular episode has all of that. CP3 is an all time floor general in league history. PGs gotta play the cerebral game. His consistency and play making at the position is tops in this era.
Y’all keep coming with heat 🔥
Chris Paul finally!!! 🔥
i mean jj has interviewed him a while ago
Seeing them talk about these plays and the thought behind it......i never knew basketball was this calculated. This was cool
I love Chris Paul he's my fav player an those New Orleans days were one of my favorite memories ❤ 💯💯💪

Great Podcast with one of the special Point GUARDS of all time. CP3& Phoenix are going to flourish and surprise many fans.

Luka, Lebron, Steph, Klay, Book. imma need all of em bubs. ALL OF EM
😂😂 bubs
Best pod yet fellas. CP is an absolute weapon
definitely one of the better interviews 💯
JJ🐐🐐
James Jones is building something over there. #HeatNation Heat Culture
I would love for my Suns to emulate the Heat.
Suns + Heat = perfect match. Heat is generated by the Sun. James Jones and Goran Dragic played on Suns playoff teams, then go to Miami to play on playoff teams. Then James Jones comes back to Phx as GM and does a good job rebuilding the team. Suns go on 8-0 bubble run as underdogs and defeat the Heat, then after the Suns beat the Heat they passed the torch to them and the Heat went on crazy playoff run in the bubble winning so many games and making the finals as underdogs. Now Suns turn to go into next season as underdogs and make the playoffs and go on a crazy run.... 👌
Best episode EVER!
I haven't even seen the video yet
CP3 is my absolute favorite player of all time! Chris Paul, please do more interviews!
