Dele Alli's mom to The Evening Standard in 2016:
“I had a serious drink problem triggered by my unhappy childhood. I was hooked on vodka, beer - anything - for a few years.
“Social Services visited me after complaints from my neighbours about how I was raising my children but my kids were never taken away. It was my decision to let Dele live with another family.
“I knew that was the only way he could fulfil his dream of becoming a professional footballer. I could see he had talent and dreamed of playing for Barcelona.
“It was tough to give up my son but it proved to be his salvation. I’m so thankful for how things have turned out.”
Alli was 13 when his mother agreed he could move to live with Harry Hickford, a defender with Milton Keynes Dons, and his parents.
I don't know what the agenda is of these people in this interview, but they obviously are lacking A LOT of information and throwing out wil conjecture. Leave Dele alone. Let him heal.

The only thing id say is that why do they feel so entitled? and why are they not taking accountability? If the Mum wasn’t as active as much as she could’ve been and the Dad was in different countries he’s automatically not going to feel that strong bond to them. Then when you factor in the fact that the other family were very active and probably showed him a normal family dynamic (support, love, validation etc) its no wonder he cherished and appreciated that more thats just basic human nature. I don’t even think its a case of them finessing him for money I honestly feel like he just wanted to do that for them as a form of giving something back. 23:49 regardless what you think, his uncle talking pure facts. Ask yourself this, why wouldn’t Dele’s foster family take advantage of his situation? They believed they can, they did and knew their potential gains. Balotelli’s foster parents is another example, he was scouted by barcelona and he’s got similar issues with his biological family. You don’t think the adopted parents ever considered he could be richer than them? Ofc they did😂Besides, Dele’s foster family wealth has suddenly increased and are bow millionaires, I wonder why lol. I’m not sayin it’s completely malicious intentions, I could be wrong. They could have given the love he felt he never had etc. For the media and public to shit on Dele’s family even when their providing evidence is disrespectful. Potentially this a child trafficking case if what we’re hearing is true. Grooming for talent don’t just happen in hollywood…

i read this story a few teats back and delle said his dad sent him back to the UK to live with his alcoholic mother, if the dad was not in and out of his life no way would a family come and adopt him, sounds like delle home life was unstable, at the end of the day if delle was a hood rat in jail for stabbing to death his OPPS and was a drug dealer none of delle family would come forward to say he is there relative or claim him as there's father cousin uncle his paternal mum all seem interested in multimillionaire delle

Been reading all the comments and i still cant decide what to think. This story is interesting but overall the only thing that matters now is Dele's wellbeing. I just have one question, when did Dele's father get all his riches? Because from what I gather the estate where Dele was in MK was probably really poor conditions so how come the father didnt support him then, was the father in in Africa or America? Why was the father never in MK? This IS abondonment. If you are not there then you have abandoned no matter how much money you have or how you want to dress it up... So if Dele says he has been dealing with these situations, how can anyone call him a liar?

What made you say this? Not that i care about celebs lifes but the analysing comes with the territory. They cant have their cake and eat it. But in this instance its got more to do with mental health, wellbeaing and duty of care from people that were supposed to be either adult, or in an authortive postion that have allowed bullshit like this to happen and let someone down. Just from a human standpoint its sad.
