    Followed this and fixed the leak perfectly.. Thanks. ps.. whilst doing this sink waste job, one of the waste pipes, going up to the, sink lost its rubber seal and the water leaked from there.. I put a fine bead of putty where the seal groove (in the pipe) is. and put it back together.. ideal for the last minute repair and will still be removeable later.

      Hi Pearl, thank you for watching. If you are referring to the escutcheon plate on the bottom of the bathroom faucet, then the mounting nut can be tightened from below the sink. For shower plates, it depends on the style but in many cases you should be able to remove the handle, from there, tighten the screws holding the plate to the wall. Hopefully this helps!

    can plumber's putty be used in toilets leak repairs?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for watching. Plumber's putty is not intended to be used to patch holes or fix leaks. In the case of a toilet you'll want to try to find the source of the leak. If it's from the bottom then you might need a new wax seal. If it's coming from without the tank and the bowl, then one of the rubber gaskets might need a replacement.

    I have a really really small leak (dampens a sheet of toilet paper a couple of days) after I replaced my old shut off value in my bathroom. Instead of replacing the value again, can I use some type of sealant around the thread where the tiny leak is? Can someone please advise?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Před 3 lety

      Hi Christian, thank you for watching. The hoses that connect to the shutoff valve have small washers inside. If these washers start to wear down, then there is not a good seal and the connection will leak. Its not recommended to use silicone or sealant on threaded connections that use washers. Instead, replace the washers or connect new hoses to the shutoff valve.

    • @LADudeYo
      @LADudeYo Před 3 lety

      @@AmreSupply
      Hi, thank you for the response. I replaced everything new including the hoses. The tiny leak is coming from the end of the valve thread. I was thinking about using JB Weld Epoxy to seal the leak... It's a bummer since the leak is like almost not there, but it is a leak.

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  Před 3 lety

      @@LADudeYo JB Weld is not recommended to use on those fittings. Before anything else, turn the water off, unscrew the hoses, check the washer inside and make sure that there's no dirt or debris that would compromise the seal. Then install the hoses and make sure that the connections are tightened with a wrench. As well even with a tight connection you might notice some condensate form on the fitting. If the water is colder than the air, it can cause the moisture from the air to condense on the outside. This might make it seem like there is a leak.
