    Really good side by side comparison and explanation of the differences. I'd love to see a comparison between the Sierra Pacific wood clad and Marvin. Those two seem to be 2 popular choices in our area.

    So how long have you worked for Marvin windows? Andersen big advantage is the jam liners are compression, making a better seal, Thus the need for the tilt assist's or wedges as you call them.

      @@ryanolep1078 Not necessarily. I was about to pull the trigger on Andersen 400s because my builder recommended it. However I didn't care about the wood interior and wasn't keen on vinyl so looked into Marvin. Got a few quotes and yes most dealers quoted a little above the Andersen quote, but I ultimately found one that came it at the same number as the Andersen.

    I'm replacing 30+year old Andersen windows. Thought I'd choose Marvin for replacements as I've heard they are slightly better quality but the sizing (window opening) isn't quite the same so with a Marvin replacement I either have to order a custom size window or order standard size and shim up each window opening...more expensive on both fronts. Any reason NOT to order Andersen replacement windows?

    Thank you for this. I had put Andersen windows in my old house and I was terrified to use the tilt-wash feature because I was afraid I'd never get the windows back in. I like the Marvin tabs better, they are more like windows I've had tilted in before.

    • @fredkneuss
      @fredkneuss Před rokem +1

      The Andersen window seals across the outside edge of the window and against the sash. Windows with the tabs just seal across the outside edge. It is slightly trickier to use, but it’s a superior seal design.

      @Grande1124 well that’s funny you’d say that cause I never see someone who regrets choosing Andersen but see at least once a month a Marvin client complaining about how hard their windows are to open and air leaks constantly.

    • @joereeder
      @joereeder Před 3 lety

      @Grande1124 well for some crazy reason I hear more folks with Marvin issues over Andersen, also then why did Marvin get out of selling direct and now only use third party to sell the product, could it be that if these businesses go out of business then the warranty issues are handled or more like null and void. I also don’t sell 400 series, I sell about this for Andersen, Andersen has 7 lines of product levels.

      @joereeder Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately the reviews disagree as a whole on products, the 400 series is Andersen’s 2nd best selling double hung only to the Renewal by Andersen double hung which is what I sell, I see Marvin every week, sorry just not even close over time on open close, wear and tear, etc

    This Andersen 400 series looks nothing like other videos I have watched. The latching is completely different…they don’t use wedges. They use proprietary latches that are much nicer than Marvin.
