- On December 10, 2021, Officer Schott was on bar patrol when radio advised that a female had fired a shot outside a nearby gastropub. By the time he arrived, the woman had been separated from her gun and was being held down by a good samaritan. The woman was highly intoxicated and immediately became combative with Officer Schott and the other officers who arrived on scene. This is video of the events.

The fact they got the gun from her and managed to hold her down until the cops arrived is a miracle, she probably made it the hardest thing to do considering how much she fights the cops. Kudos to all the civilians involved in taking her down and keeping everyone else safe until the cops showed up*

I thought charges existed for brandishing a weapon, much less pulling the trigger within city limits without valid reason but I guess I was wrong in assuming I had seen those written down somewhere as crimes.
@@alybloodshade With pretty much any other western nation, simply the presence of the firearm alone would result in extremely serious charges. Brandishing it and discharging it during the struggle would get you a significant jail sentence in my country, even if it were a first offence.

My parents owned a bar/restaurant when I was young. One of the best things my dad ever told me was “You can argue with a drunk all night, but you can’t reason with one. Don’t let it get that far.” This advice stood me in good stead when I became a bartender myself. I learned to shut the argument down before it became chaos. These officers have way more patience than I have ever had.

My dad is an ER nurse who’s told me that people that are on drugs or alcohol are so dangerous because they think they have super human powers and they get this strength out of nowhere. Props to these cops who’s remained calm and dealt with her with the least amount of manhandling when it’s so hard to do.
They quite literally do sometimes, on certain drugs. They feel no pain. I'm a 1st responder and I fought with the same guy probably 6 times while he was on angel dust. It took 5 of us to restrain him, one for each limb, and one for the head so he wouldn't headbutt and bite.
Yes you are right, they are extremely strong, it is amazing, trying to hold them done takes more than one person.

When I was in my early 20's, I considered applying to the local police department. I had two roommates that were on the force. I lettered in both football and wrestling in high school and my roommates thought I could handle the physical part of the job well. Then I started listening all their 'war stories' and decided I didn't have the proper temperament. These officers are saints. I'm not nearly as patient with misconduct as they are. I decided law enforcement was not a good fit for me but I have nothing but admiration for the men and women who can take it in stride and do a much better job than I ever could.
I think that you sold yourself short. You could have become known as, "Officer Taser".
Kudos to you for recognizing it's not a good fit before you got into it. That's really knowing yourself/having far more wisdom than many people do at that early juncture in their lives
The police see everybody on their absolute worst day. Victims, perpetrators -- even witnesses. It's inevitable that some of them will act out. When the cops can treat people with professionalism and respect even when their behavior clearly doesn't warrant respect, they can both avoid making a bad situation even worse and make it more likely that they or their colleagues can get the person to talk later.
Good for you for realizing that you don't have the temperament to do that, and doing something else. It really does take someone with enormous patience and self-control.

As a former now retired Police Officer as well. I had the privilege of multiple encounters with hop up female suspects on scene that were like dear ole Savanna here. They were analspastic all the way to jail, at the jail as well. While at Court they were so embarrassed when the DA rolled that wonderful Bean Footage of that hop up defendant in Court for everybody to see.... one word to truly describe it. PRICELESS.😁

I am 8 years sober this year. This video is proof as to why I don't drink or use drugs anymore. We have laws here in Washington where this girl did this, specifically RCW 9.41.230, the aiming or discharging of a firearm or dangerous weapon. Her drunken, reckless & irresponsible ass SHOULD have been charged appropriately as the law states:
1) Reckless Endangerment
2) Unlawful Display of a Firearm or Weapon.
3) Aiming/Discharging Firearm
& possibly also
4) Carrying Firearm Without a Permit.

I used to be an alcoholic and by AA standards, I still am?, But I know what you are talking about way too well. You literally do not understand the consequences of your actions until you sober up then it hits you like a freight train. Why it's best not to drink at all if you become like this, and I can't say much because I've done similar questionable things during my binges, but thankful I learned the hard way before I could possibly lead myself into a cell block somewhere. Just not worth it at all.

I absolutely agree. The liberal media repeatedly blasts only the very worst cases of negative police interactions and paints every officer with that brush. Most officers are patient, helpful and honestly trying to help the community and keep people safe. There are most definitely a few bad cops, but most are great. However, the media makes money off showing only the worst, so we need to ensure they don’t continue that dangerous practice. The constant media coverage of those few bad apples completely erodes respect for the good officers, and chaos reigns.

I gave up the gin when I was about 23 years old, and just stuck with the brew. I'm a bit older now and therefore I've upgraded to a simple adult seltzer. But yeah I do indeed remember the times when I used to get hammered when the older fellas used to break out a bottle of white lightning! I think, as part of the punishment, all people arrested should have to watch their arrest video. Failure to do so will result in real, actual jail time (on top of what they already may have).
They more than likely do see their arrest video. At least if they go to court.

Yep, play the arrest video over and over and over on a big screen TV at the jail cells. That way, all the inmates can see what fine, upstanding jail mates they are with. Would be interesting!

@@jammingalways@kimmy2077 so it's not always parents, my Mum and Dad were amazing, I turned out well (as I can judge, no convictions, etc) compared to my slightly older brother, who has been a lifelong alcoholic. It's not their fault, we have done everything over the years. But some people think they're always hard done by, it's the world's fault not theirs, and there no reasoning with it.

While they are children most parents (not all) try and instil some kind of manners and respect, but even if there are bad parents, most people still turn out okay because once they are grown up, they can see and understand what it is to be a functioning adult. Unfortunately some people never grow up, get into drink and drugs and feel like it's everyone else's fault that they have turned out like they are - it is not. You make your own choices in life and a lot of people like this woman have decided that they will do their utmost to be as vile to others as possible.

Fear of being accused of police brutality has taken us to such extremes that a woman who easily could have killed somebody learns that her continuing horrible behavior is ok. She knows the Spokane police will go overboard to be gentle and polite, no matter what she does.
The courts should lease Gulags from the Russians. Some time spent in a Gulag and this woman would come home a model citizen 😆

@@ihatespam2 In most of the country police have become conditioned to expect retribution just for doing their jobs. Their careers are ended, they are sued, and many are criminally prosecuted, when they did nothing wrong. Here in my own community, the mayor has repeatedly pandered to his voter base by accusing cops of abuse, and the prosecutor has charged several cops. Typically, the grand jury refuses to indict, but the cop's career is destroyed, and the voters "know" the mayor and prosecutor tried to protect them from what are characterized as evil cops. So cops are afraid to do their jobs, and people who tend to be rowdy to begin with all know they can get away with outrageous behavior. I'd say from your channel you're old enough to know what alcohol can do to common sense and reason, and drunks knowing police are afraid to do their jobs really exacerbates the craziness we see.

@@andrewrossi3754 I probably could have worded it better. Maybe I'll fix it. It's not police brutality, it's fear of being accused of police brutality. People are so quick to accuse a cop of brutality, and higher-ups have been so cowardly, that officers wear kid gloves where they shouldn't, and people know they can get away with horrible behavior.
The way that guy got freaked out hearing her scream from half a block away had me fucking dying. I think they dropped her a few seconds earlier, too 😂
