- On July 1, 2022 at 9:15PM, Deputy O'Neill was on patrol on US 1 when he observed a red Honda sedan unable to maintain its speed or lane. At one point, the car swerved partially into oncoming traffic. Upon stopping the vehicle, the deputy learned that the same vehicle had been reported as a reckless driver a short time earlier. The driver appeared intoxicated and her child was sleeping in the passenger seat. This is footage of her arrest.

What was even more disgusting to me was she refused to give the officers a phone number for someone could pick up her son, so he had to go the Department of Children and Family Services.
She probably didn't want her ex-husband and in laws to know about her arrest.
She possibly didn't have anyone to leave her son with, which makes the situation more stupid. Why risk putting your son in that situation when you don't have anyone to leave him with

It's really common for people to understand a language better than they can speak it. I'm the same way with my second and third languages.
I wouldn't see a need for that. She's behaved horribly while drunk, but that does not rise to the level of needing to review her arrests. Her behavior and crime in this situation has no direct relationship to her arrests. You might think "well if she's horrible like this in this situation, then maybe she abused her power during her arrests". That doesn't even rise to the level of reasonable articulable suspicion that she made bad arrests. That's only speculation.
Dude I grew up in a half Spanish half English speaking household so I can understand Spanish but I absolutely can't speak it. That's surprisingly common for people, especially in mixed language households.
As someone who learned Spanish as an adult, it takes time for me to translate it in my head, especially complicated phrases and slang. If you can’t think in a language you are not fluent.

She laughed during the field sobriety test because it's ridiculous that US police does that. In Europe every cop car has a portable breathalyzer, no cop is going to do such a stupid test which some people pass while being drunk and some people fail while not having had anything to drink.

I used to work as a jail nurse & it always amazed me when people would come in & act like they didn't speak English, only to laugh bc they knew we were trying to get a translator then they would get on the phone & speak English. Many delay the process this way.

I’ve been a couple places like that. I don’t know why the Russian speaking immigrant population was so high in those particular areas, but everybody from tour guides to construction workers spoke it.

Hard to tell with alcohol. Some people are still enough with it that they deliberately manipulate/act their way to get out of stuff (getting in serious trouble is a good wake up call). Other times alcohol can really mess people up and make them out of it.
Our son was the passenger in a car that hit a telephone pole, causing him to be ejected through windshield. And then the car literally flipped and hit him in mid air. He didnt die instantly. We had to take hom off of life support 12 hours later.
Put me in a room with her. 5 minutes.

Her lawyer will try to argue that she did not understand, but she admitted she could go to jail. She knows she is drunk. This is why the officers wear body cams now.
