The main reason you had issues with the tint was because you are suppose to get soapy water on the part your tinting and the tint itself before applying it and using a credit card for example to push out the bubbles from the centre to the edges and giving the tint time to dry out normally 24 hours I had the same issues with my helmet project and these small changes made it much easier 😊 your helmet came out quiet well!
Looks great! Spray the tinting with a light soap water solution and use a squeegee to smooth it on and work out the bubbles.
Nice tip! I didn't know that, thanks!
Yeah, as I was watching, I was saying it would be a miracle if that turned out even okay without using soapy water.
@@PracticalRenaissance Was going to say the same thing
"It's over Anakin! I have the 'High Spot'!"

Hello There!
General Kenobi...
Mozzie Bait ummm
Great video! For the tint, you can spray soapy water on the adhesive side and onto the surface of the material. This allows you to move it around a bit and squeegee out the bubbles.
sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account?
I was stupid lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Holden Deshawn instablaster ;)
@Simon Kash thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Simon Kash it worked and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my account!
@Holden Deshawn Glad I could help =)
I was wondering when you’d release this video. It didn’t cross my mind that you were waiting for today.
The blue strips are just vents they never had time to make, but on rogue one they made them check that out, the black series full size has them as vents
That was fun! I enjoyed the "troopers" at the end
Awesome, searched for 3D printed Stormtrooper helmet and I'm so pleased this came up.
Great video!
great video! i bought a printer myself just for this and the N7 breather helmet. After some figurines, tools and other things i have finally started my trooper helmet. Im currently printing part 12. It was nice seeing how you put everything togheter glued and sanded and sanded and primed and sanded and painted and sanded and sanded. But the final result was amazing and i cant wait to start working on mine. Excellent job.
AWESOME May the force be with you!!!
When are you going to do the rest of the armor
With the aluminum mesh, if you cut it the same size of the raised ring, and then press it in, you should be able to pull it out with a small pick, and then reinsert it "upside down" so the part that would have been bent up when you first inserted, is now facing down, and will provide a consistent perimeter and a slight sense of depth.
2 things
1. When you use bonds it's better to get the blue hardner(cracks less than red hardner)
2. Try rondo 1/2 bondo 1/2 fiberglass resin ) makes it runny enough to fill all grooves
11:23 fr thought this is the most important step of the ENTIRE build
Loved the video, awesome project!
The "dad-esque" jokes won a subscription. :) Nice job.
That was quite fun! lol I didn't plan on watching it, but I did....couldn't seem to pull myself away. Thanks! :)
Glad you did!! Thanks!
Love this video. I just printed my first attempt using a printer that probably made it WAY easier than you had 6 years ago. Everything went great...had to print it in 12 pieces with my small print bed. Well, everything went great until I glued the dome top pieces on and didn't get it aligned properly before the CA glue cured...the tabs in the model I'm using means there is no UNDO...I'll be printing another one......
To apply tint film, you are supposed to make some watery dish soap solution, spray between the film and sheet you apply it to, then with plastic ruler you squeeze the soap out, it dries fast and gives great smooth result.
This kinda looks like an upscale Ed version of the new LEGO storm trooper helmet mold
Nicely done
Awesome. I am currently printing my first helmet
OkieCosplay did it work?
May the 4th be with you... BTW very nice project
Not a bad looking helmet , the hovi mics you are correct
Which settings did u use for the 3d printer? I use Simplify 3D, can you share the .ff file? Great video!
Great video with an awesome ending!
I will have to utilize that modified Maslow's from now on.
I'm happy someone noticed that, my wife asked me why I was in the kitchen giggling at a whiteboard for 20 minutes
Amazing job mate!
I don't know if it's canon or if it's true or not but I believe that the blue striped sides are an indication of the 501st clone group
No. All stormtroopers have them.
That’s awesome!
pretty good storm trooper helmet i wouldnt mind making one myself pretty cool.kevin greenfield im a massive starwars fan.
The storm pooper 🤣😂
Nice job, but now you did it. Find the traitor, several transmissions were beamed aboard by rebel spies. Really like it. 👍
Do you think it smells better or worse than the originals on the inside?
Which quality and infill settings were you using?
Well done!
ATB, Robin
Thank you Robin!
Great job! What's the music track in the video? I really like it.
i know this is late, but if you spray water/soap mix on the tint then squeeze out the water and let it dry it works good
Hahahaaha stormpooper got me ! amazing work
Good effort, sir. :-)
The window tint needs a spray bottle with a drop of soap..spray both parts apply and squeeze out the bubbles 👌
One tip for the future; apply some windex or any cleaner you have on hand to the window tinting film..apply to the surface...and rub it till there is no bubbles . Let dry and voila your done
nice build! pro tip: wet the tint film with soapy water before applying, by doing this you can move the film around untill you are satisfied, then using a windowscraper wipe all the water from under the film... voila!
Blast em!
Great video.
Did you scale down the print? I am about halfway through printing and the helmet looks way big
really really cool.
the way you added the tint was hillarious
Pretty nice helmet
How super cool is that I am a massive fan of star wars and I love storm troopers and I want a job like what you are doing I am from Colchester Essex please can you show me how you do all of that the 3d via computer is really cool.
Did your print with supports?
AMAZING!!!
I happen to be a very nerdy Star Wars fan myself. And I was wondering.... do you sell these helmets? I might be interested in buying an original Stormtrooper helmet.
Soap and water.works when working with tinted flim
“I find your lack of faith disturbing”
What type of filiment did u use ?
I wonder if a pvc plumbing glue would bond the pieces quick
i tried printing this but my nozzle got stuck on the print can you possibly make a video on nozzle drag please
That is a pretty storm trooper helmet
If you are Star Wars nerd you should do a droid
Really cool ay gona have a 3D printer in school
Why don't you tape around the parts you apply black color on?? :D
Looks kind of lumpy in some places. Is that due to flaws in the print or is the computer model off?
Benbot he applied to much bondo and didn’t sand it
What glue did you use
I have just ordered a creality ender 3, is it possible to print this helmet or others like Darth Vader, or even full armor?
I believe the ender 3 is a 200mm bed?
anyone I am a total noob as my printer has not shipped yet. lol Shipps tomorrow ;)
Hola con que modelo de impresora lo hiciste? Muchas gracias.
11:48 otherwise known as a pooper trooper
44hrs?!?! Mines taking wayyy longer than that. What settings are you using to print. If I can get all those peices printed in 2 days I’d be suprised
You you want a really shiny finish use 2k clear coat
How would you eat and drink through the helmet
The bondo was part was unnecessary, a proper mid-low sanding grit to high grit is what I do first, then to fill in the gaps, then I use Spot Bondo Putty. That’s your thing though, there’s a lot more work put in when you have to do a lot of sanding after it cures.
good job, bro!
Is the helmet strong?
would you mind sharing your design for the pieces you created?
oh yeah totally, here you go! www.thingiverse.com/thing:3025334
Nice job and well done on the video edits. Now make the rest of the outfit. You know you want to.
Thanks Joe! You know I may have another related project up my sleeve, one that'll actually get some spindles turning!
how do you adjust the head size
with the black tint film, you need a heat gun to stop it crinkling up
How much would something like this cost in material?
Cool storm trooper.helmet
How much does the materials cost?
As someone who uses automotive body filler everyday you should dolphin glaze filler in a bag. Super creamy and very easy to sand
Is it just me but it looks exactly like the new Lego stormtrooper helmet🤔
Does anyone know where I could get a file to print a snow trooper helmet, I can’t find any videos or files and I don’t know much about 3D printing but I’d love to start by printing and assembling a snow trooper helmet
Geoff Wicks has one on his Patreon page...www.patreon.com/Geoffro/posts .He made the Stormtrooper helmet file used in this video & has some other awesome helmets & armor from Mando to Snowtrooper to The Witcher .stl's available!
Are you going to print stormtrooper armor?!
During this video he played the half life 2 citadel alarm when he was painting the rim above the eyes and the mouth piece black
Cool. Do you know what the main song is that's playing for most of the video?
I am new to 3d printing and have been printing non stop for a week.
Can you please take a second to help me.
I want to make a helmet but I do not know what I should set my settings at for it.
Can you give me some pointers please just let me know what your settings were. Thanks in advance.
I use a QIDI X-MAX printer
The way you used that file gave me anxiety. lol
The worst part is when he paint all the greeblies..
A bit more effort in the sanding department would have been great, otherwise awesome job
May the force be with you.
And also with you!
Does patrion give Uber trooper access ? Not party trooper he looked like trouble.
im making this
3D Printing is Witchcraft lol Nice work.

👌
About 4 days, give or take. I really need to save for a 3D printer.
Nice! I took the easier route and bought mine for about $100 on Amazon.
doesn't pla deform?
personally i lile your work but little comparison this helmet looks like legos stormtrooper 2019 helmet
