    I love gadgets but I don’t see the purpose of a ring if I already have a watch.
    Better metrics are nice but how much better are we talkin’? Enough to warrant a multiple hundred dollar device and yet another thing to wear/charge?
    It’s going to have to provide a lot more value if it’s going to be worth getting.

    • @BridgetCarey
      @BridgetCarey Před 3 měsíci

      Here’s another twist: If I give the Pillow app permission to track sleep with Apple Watch data, the sleep results are DIFFERENT than what is in Apple’s Health app. So it’s all how an app interprets the data. So I’m sure there also is truth to the fact that more sensors (hand and wrist) or more data can be more accurate. And it’s also what you as the owner do with that data. Are you feeling bad? Maybe there’s a general trend you can see if you zoom out and look at patterns, rather that worry about exact scores.

    • @jezza6575
      @jezza6575 Před 3 měsíci

      @@BridgetCarey Not to mention the individual, where do we even come up with a baseline for quality sleep? Applying AI technologies to the data in the future will allow it to custom tune a score to make it easier for the layman to determine if something is amiss with their sleep routine rather than missing more sleep poring over data that all these devices collect…talk about a twist!

    • @sluxi
      @sluxi Před 29 dny

      these can't really ever be that accurate. There are bands you wear on your head to sleep that actually track brain activity and those can be accurate.

    Trouble with using the watch to track your sleep (besides wearing it) is that you then need to charge it when you wake up. I charge mine overnight so it’s always charged when i put it on in the morning. An apple ring would be great (esp for payments), altough it’s another thing to charge!

    • @BridgetCarey
      @BridgetCarey Před 3 měsíci

      Charging the Evie Ring isn’t too bad. It charges in like 15 minutes or maybe less, so you can do it while getting ready in the morning. I’m still at 62 percent battery since my last charge on Tuesday (3.5 days ago). So I truly just don’t have to think about it until there’s a phone popup warning that the battery on the ring is low.

    • @RichTallent
      @RichTallent Před 3 měsíci +2

      The watch charges quick though.. you just have to find a time to charge it for an hour. I always charge mine while taking a shower/bath. By the time I’m done so is the watch, ready to go for the next 24 hours.

    Having worn a Oura ring for over a year, and seeing some of the competition, Oura are still far ahead. The competitions apps are quite basic and the information gathered, and how that's used, in the competition is quite basic. Oura use of the data, is quite unique and really very useful and interesting. Yes, they charge a monthly fee, but the quality of the information you get back, is far, far ahead of the competition.

    I have never gotten an apple watch to work for sleep tracking or even workouts. Apple watch does not even have a rock-climbing workout like Android watches do.
    On Android watches, I just wear my watch, and it know when I fell asleep, got up for some water, went back to sleep, and actually woke up. Same for workouts with Android, it knows that I am doing a workout, and I do not need to select "Start Workout."

    I have a Fitbit plus a Watch 9. I like the Fitbit for sleep because I don't have to mess around with settings. And my sleep schedule could vary and hour or two each way, so the Apple requirement to set a schedule isn't useful. But I judge that the Ring, along with Watch and sensors coming to the band, sensors in AirPods, and retinal scans coming to Vision Pro and Glasses will be an ecosystem for monitoring and diagnostics which will be central to moving from the current "sickcare" system to a true healthcare system that heads of ailments before they become serious, debilitating or deadly!

    If sleep stages augment when multiple devices are worn, well then, I think I may have the most accurate sleep stages on Earth! This is what I still have on me after my seven-hour test last night:
    1. Ultrahuman Ring Air (bionic gold), right index
    2. Ultrahuman Ring Air (matte black), left index
    3. ŌURA Ring gen 3, (silver) right thumb
    4. ŌURA Ring gen 2, (black) right ring
    5. Circular Ring Slim (black) left thumb
    6. Circular Ring Pro (black) left index finger above my Ultrahuman Ring Air
    7. Garmin Instinct 2X solar (flame red) left wrist
    8. OnePlus Watch 2.0 (radiant steel) on my right wrist
    Was it too much, yes! Was it uncomfortable, nope. But the 9th device was the Libre 3 glucose sensor in the back of my left bicep. I rolled over on my left side around 05:00 and felt a sharp pain. I have high hopes for the Amazfit Helio ring and hope I can just wear the ring and night and an Amazfit smartwatch. I would be all-in for a stylish Apple watch that could magsafe/Qi charge. Plus I could wear a Rolex or Omega rather than my Apple Watch, which I love, but I would prefer only to wear that for exercise now.

    Annoyingly they’ll probably charge a monthly fee where my Ringconn is free.

    I would buy it if it makes me invisible. Need to hide from the Ring Wraiths.

    If battery is what you want then get a Fitbit. These reasons for a ring don't make sense

    I think Apple should create Apple iRings and Apple iBots (A.K.A. A-Bots)

    Apple wouldn’t release a ring because it will cannibalise Apple Watch market

    Oura Ring is an excellent devise. Apple has their work cut out for them.

    Ring paired with medical would be fatastic. Blood sugar is key.

    They will take a long time to create a smart ring as they will do it the "apple" way

    I love tech... but I'm finally at the age where I just can't with some of this new tech. VR/AR headsets never took off with me and neither will this. I have an Apple Watch that I sleep it... that's good enough.

      Our love will last forever, unlike this battery inside. (And I promise to love you in sickness and in health, till software updates are no longer supported.)

    Why not just talk about the technology that's out vs video talking Apple making something in a few years?

    I love you Bridget, but I don't think an Apple Ring is something that I need. I just want that Apple Watch match the Garmin watches (Fenix 7 pro) capabilities (physiological parameters, Battery duration, Topographical maps and a novelty for Apple could be to combine a DUAL Amoled AND Transflective memory-in-pixel display tech within the same Apple Watch, in this way the user could decide which display to use depending on the activity saving batter power) ; a ring for me is something unnecessary unless the dual use of an Apple Watch and Ring somehow would provide accurate, medical approved Blood Pressure readings (unless Apple Manages to do that with the Watch only). A ring? for me? No.
