Nice tutorial. Amazingly NI never put out such an overview. I've had to figure this out myself. NI would have made S8 Kontoller more successful if they had. I stand by it being an amazing piece of kit and love mine. Shame NI didn't realise it potential to the mass market.

LOL, the how reverb effect works compared to a toilet sound, was very funny and most importantly - i'ts accurate as hell :D
Hahah indeed, best practical example for the fact that off all the effects that exist in the digital domain, reverb of course is the most naturally occurring one!

BTW. Maybe You will know is to possible to achieve this hihat pitch adjust effect on traktor dj software like in this video, starting from 1:42 (Richie Hawtin is using this technique with hihats often):

Looks like the hi-hats are coming in from Ableton hence he's able to control the pitch on them with the K2 controller mapped to it. You can easily do this in Traktor by using a deck to play just h-hat loops and assign the Pitch Knob of the deck to control it (It the one that changes the key of the track)

which you can use often , not only for drops etc.?
There's no such thing as effects suited for a particular genre. The philosophy of using effects is to create a sense of tension or release or a support system to keeping the mix seamless (when it comes to DJ'ing).
What laptop are you running? I know s8 is particular and hates the 2022 cores.
