Thanks. It looks very much like the cheap (£20) Chinese mics that were (and possibly still are) available on Amazon/Ebay about 15 years ago. I owned a couple back then! If it is a re-badge of them then I think you'll find that it isn't a supercardiod at all. Instead, it's just a simple cardiod. The long mic body is just a faked shotgun lookalike. You can check that by holding the side grills up against a light and looking closely into the body. You might see a wire running through the length of the tube. If so, it means that the capsule is at the front of the mic, thus proving that it is not a supercardiod. A real shotgun mics has its capsule at the back of the mic, and the tube is always empty to allow the interference rejection effect to take place. Hope that helps.

the automatic image exposure plays some weird tricks specially with the white box. The sound is weird and not pleasing.

Thanks for the feedback. I noticed the exposure issues as well but wasn't able to rerecord at this time so I went with it.
What don't you like about the sound?

Thanks, what do you find impressive specifically?

I feel like a comparison with a Rode NTG2 or a Sennheiser MKE 600 would make more sense, given the type of microphone this is.

Absolutely, please feel free to send me one of the mics you mentioned (or tell the companies so they can send one out). I simply do not have access to all the mics I would like to compare things to. But luckily there are other CZcams Channels which may have them at hand and can create videos about these things.
