But yeah, goals were smaller, there were no substitutions, and despite no yellow cards, the game was harder in terms of physicall contact allowed, so the red cards stayed in the referees pocket for the most part. The ball was heavier, boots were bad. Eusébio had knee surgery 5 times, he had the "world map drawn on his knees" as he used to joke. This in a time where sports medicine wasn't even a thing.
One of the most unstoppable players of all time, a great combination of extraordinary technique and class with monstrous strength. A genius far ahead of his time.

People don't have any idea of how much he represent for us Portuguese people in general e and S.L.Benfica fans in particularly as myself. It goes beyond the victories or the goals, as BENFICA had already won the European Cup before he arrive at the Glorious One. He was almost unstoppable, with control, technique, skill, pace and power. He suffered so much from dirty plays and excessive agressiveness of some defenders of that era and yet always very respectful to everyone. In today's football the richest clubs (not necessarily the best as we know in these modern times) would lose their minds for him and set new records of transfer. But most important, he touched the heart of the people, he was genuine, his impact in Portugal is way bigger than any other player including a magnificent Ronaldo. O futebol na altura era diferente jogava-se com uma bola que pesava mais de 2kg quando o piso estava encharcado e dominar uma bola daquelas era preciso ter uma técnica incrível. Hoje em dia joga-se com balões. O Eusébio ganhou 2 taças dos campeões europeus com o Benfica e chegou a mais umas finais. When he came to Benfica, Eusebio was not a striker. Later he became a striker. In ‘66, ‘67, ‘68, he was a “right side interior”, thus a midfielder. Benfica’s striker at the time was Torres. Jose Torres left benfica in 1971. So Eusebio was a goal-machine-midfielder, for his first years playing in Europe.

Pele and Eusebio were the best in the 60s, Di Stefano and Puskas in the 50s, Cruyff in the 70s, Maradona in the 80s, Ronaldo was the king of his generation (sorry Zidane), Ronaldinho for 3 or 4 years, Messi and CR7 after him... I know the calibre of footballers was vastly different back then (diets, training, etc.,) along with the balls, kits and boots, but man if you placed a young Eusebio in football today he'd STILL be the best. Hell, put him into any era of football and Eusebio would still be the very best of that generation, the guy had it all.

I don't think so. Many Portuguese think they are superior to Brazilians, because they were born in Europe, they are the former metropolis, and they think that Brazil is mostly composed of slums/"favelas" (this is not true, I've been there and saw it by myself).

A beast, unstoppable in his prime ( much more than CR7) the only player comparable to him was Ronaldo Nazário, also Eusébio had 6 or 7 surgeries to his knee and still scored more than 600 goals. His 1966 WC performance is easily among the top ever in a WC.
