Liz is an absolute psychopath for leaving those poor animals to die in that house and pretend that Carri lit that fire! Anyone who would allow any animal to die in that way would have ZERO problems with killing a human. I feel utterly terrible for Carri's mother and son, and if they ever happen to read this, please know that you both have my absolute sympathy, and I am so sorry for your loss! I have been single for almost 20 years after a heartbreaking divorce to my childhood sweetheart after 23 years of being together and 19 years of marriage and over the years my children have attempted to encourage me to go on these dating websites, but honestly Hell would have to freeze over before I'd do that! I'm not very trusting of humans because every single year, there's more violence and self adoration than the year before. I'd rather spend time with my cats, and I am content with them. At least I don't have to worry about one of them setting my house on fire with me inside! Thanks, CF, for your brilliant work. There are only another 165 episodes to go until I'm caught up! Thanks for reading.
Lots of people prefer single life; we were born single. Check out the writings of Dr Bella DePaulo if you are interested.

The plot twist ones are always my favorite casefile episodes. The narrator and the writing team always do a great job of revealing the twist at the best possible moment
Jesus *christ* did this one throw me for a loop
This is the way to start a Saturday morning with casefile and Friends from around the world. Happy weekend

The writing in these is bloody fabulous, just enough description to paint the scene without being tedious and the timing of the twists is bang on.
As a listener since ep 1 It's always driven me slightly crazy that while the storytelling is as impressive as you suggest, the scripts invariably fall 5-10% short for want of a damn good copy-edit. (My rates are very reasonable.) The grasp of idiom, for example, is wobbly to say the least.
@@finosuilleabhain7781 It sounds real though. The lack of polish works well with the voice. For me anyway, it puts me to sleep.
@@butchershopquartet3280 I'm an editor so it grates. I always think, give me £20 and two hours and I'll improve it 5%.

Wait how was someone not arrested earlier for arson and stalking and attempted murder and cruelty to animals and vandalism?? I mean it was a crazy twisting story but the police should have been investigating those things till they found the culprit right? Maybe they were at that point. Just seems it took a long time. What a crazy psycho though! Poor Cari how awful! Even killed her own animals. Stocking should be taken more seriously and missing persons too. Thanks for posting. And so sad for Cari’s family.
I was thinking the same thing they pretty much just put all their eggs in one basket assuming it was cari, i couldn't believe it . I feel so terrible for her and her family
Cari Farver was wanted for questioning while she was “missing”
Just when you think things couldn't get more bonkers, along comes this case file! TBH I was getting confused as to who was who and who was doing what! The depths of Liz's hate is unimaginable to me. And knowing the guilt that poor Dave carries with him is heartbreaking. I'm still consistently surprised by how unhinged so many ppl are on this planet!! And btw, I wholeheartedly agree with other posts in that the writing of these stories is impeccable and keeps me gripped from start to finish. Well done Casefile! 👏👏
Man... I hate to say it like this, because I know it's extreme, but I think really, the only 2 ways to stop a stalker is to jail them for life, or for them to die.
What really gets me is that if the police had looked into Cari as a missing person even a little, they might have found out that Liz was to blame earlier. I get why they made their original assumption, but as the years went on? They owed her family a better investigation.
They would have caught that psycho much earlier. Maybe before she even killed her poor pets
man just stfu with your pets, they re just some animals who cares about them ? you people are insane, an innocent woman died and in your deluded minds the fucking pets are the problem ?@@Catsss1017

I used to watch casefile religiously then somehow lost the channel. I was looking up the name of a case and refound the channel!!! I'm so grateful
It is scary. Not only is getting involved with a psychopath dangerous but even a regular guy who has had a relationship with a psychopath can get you killed.
What a great episode, what a twist
CaseFiles! Thanx for the upload. Be safe everybody.
Love these twisty ones. Always great story telling and narration.
netflix doc 2024 covers this case, i had to come back and listen after watching it. this podcast gives WAY more details. Kudos to the researchers/writers. My question is What Actually Happened to Cari? Liz jumped her in the car that morning after Dave left to work and killed her? then immediately started texting Dave to move in/assuming Cari's identity online. WILD.
I'm so glad Cari was a good mom... that her son had a good grandma... that he went on to university. I wish the best for him and hope he honors his mom and grandmother by living a good life.
Cold Saturday night in Adelaide...

This might be one of the most terrifying true crime's I've ever heard. Yikes!!
Sounds like my sons mother. She used to hide in my closet till I came home and wait for me to call another woman. I never did.
That’s beyond strange! 😵💫. I’d be afraid of her.
@Taluta394 She's so diabolical now
its almost unfathomable. Absolutely nobody has anything nice to say about her. Not even her own parents or kids. And she deserves it.
I been trying to find a woman like that my entire life

The events recounted here in this episode of Casefile mirror the confusion undoubtedly experienced & felt by the effected people. Almost like having to endure a wicked guessing game in a series of mirrored rooms. Who is really behind the mirror. Although a mental illness is involved it is hard to imagine such a level of premeditated wickedness could have such a clarity.
Hard to critique without having to issue a " spoiler alert ".
Well worth listening !!!
Is it sad im more horrified that she left her pets in the fire to die than i am over the stalking imitating and murder
no, you re just as sick at many in this comment section and people nowdays in general. creating idols out of some fucking dogs and cats and caring for them more than for humans...maybe one day you ll realise you re insane
Terrific episode, great writing! So many twists!
me too .M R. Cheers from South Coast Nsw Australia.
Great Saturday!!!
Hi Casefile.
You always do such an outstanding job of telling these stories- the writing is completely on point. This one bothered me right from the beginning, when Cari was suspected of being the stalker. I've faced somewhat of a similar situation where an absolute stranger walked into my life and tried to take it over, with behaviour escalating from annoying to terrifying. You can't do anything about it, except to report each separate incident- and have to continue being victimized while the case builds. It makes it even worse when a computer gets involved and crafty people hide their bad selves behind a fluorescent screen. A lot of lives have been destroyed due to cyberbullying activity, and I hope that law surrounding technology begins to advance the way DNA technology did- that's going to be the key to solving a lot of today and tomorrow's cases. Terrific job as usual, Casefile team!
Crazy AF🤯
If the stalker was a man, and not a woman, he would have been arrested years ago.
cari was missing the entire time she couldn't be arrested
Thank you.
I thought, "What is wrong with Liz, spending time with someone who has a stalker/crazy ex, ?" OOOOOOOHHHHHHH! THAT EXPLAINS IT!
Wow! This was twisted!
How can people be so incredibly cruel!!!!
mind blown!!
I'm 24 minutes in wondering how far things need to get before the cops put down their donuts and make an arrest.
I had a feeling it was liz after she accused the ex wife. I find it rare that someone can be obsessed with someone else after living with them and having kids with them then getting into a divorce with that person.
This is one of the most twisted cases I've heard of. I've heard some twisted ones, but to keep it going for YEARS!!??
Watched the new Netflix short series about this murder I’d highly recommend it
Oh yes 🙌
Great case. But way too many ads.
Dave must be some kind of stud!
doubt it.
Interesting case, but the excessive number of ads made this video practically unlistenable.
Get CZcams premium. If I didn't have it I wouldn't be listening to this channel.
Great video…2nd time listening…love triangles can be very dangerous
Im in for a psychological enigma, it appears. Onward!
👏👏👏
why wasn't she arrested after the fire?
Because she's a woman, women get away with allsorts all the time, especially with the judiciary
I live in Omaha lol crazy little city 😃
Dave brought it on himself for sleeping around
I found this one very confusing. Why did the police tell Liz that they'd "keep an eye on Amy" regarding Cari instead of arresting Amy for shooting her?
They already suspected Liz at that point
Amy didn't shoot liz
Or cari
It was Liz all along
@@greenglittergg Thank-you for clarification. I think I got lost in this one :)

Oh man that’s a whole other rabbit hole we could all go down. She’s scary.
who?
@@howdareyouexist Dunno if you figured it out yet or not, but The Right Opinion recently did a video on Creepshow Art.
Her scheme was Machiavellian in a Forrest Gump sort of way. Haha
Hell hath no fury...
Way too many commercials 🫤
Excellent, scary as hell episode. Sounds like Amanda Heard was inspired by this nutty broad.
I just heard about this case on another channel that posted a few hours ago. Why is all of a sudden evryone talking about this case. And no word about Cari if being declared missing after she was seen last by Dave at his apartment. I usually like your video but I don't like how you put the story togheter this time. In the beginning you say only Cari did this and that ,but not a single word about her being missing and how her relatives and 14 yeaalr old boy got some strange messages.
pretty sure that was on purpose, to establish dave's point of view and have the audience fooled as he was
It's telling the story as it happened. As far as the people involved were aware, Carli was harassing and stalking them. The Police thought she had left of her volition, as she was still on social media and 'stalking', and her mother and son, although suspicious, were still hearing from her.
I've also heard this case before, but did not realise until I was well into it.
It is such a terrible case, but I thought that CF did a really great job of telling it, totally engrossing
@@divinemischief4655 Cari was declared missing a few day after the stalking started. He should have said that if to follow the story. By telling the story like this he made you belive in the first half that the actual victim is the perpetrator. Which doesn't sit well with me.
@@divinemischief4655 and is Cari not Carli. And police didn't belive that just for a short time he the narrator says it in the half part of the naration

From the fear files how come you guys just do the same thing
I find Casefile often digs much deeper into cases I've already heard. And they reveal details in a more mysterious order instead of revealing everything too early. From my understanding, the police suspected that Kari was missing early on, but didn't know enough about Liz, at first, to act.
All true crime podcasts do the same thing. It’s in the research, quality of presentation, storytelling…. Do you expect there to be a different outcome or something?
