Some elder's daughters have been raped. I suspect that many elders would blame the daughter for inviting it. Rape is an act of violence,not lust. It does not matter how you dress or act. Hi Guys, we have been watching almost all the live streams of this RC. It is better than any thriller ! The judge is known in Oz as Peter Perfect, and you can see that he does not let them weasel their way out of it. The last day resulted in the lawyer for the crown accusing the branch committee chairman of lying under oath (which he clearly did) - which in turn has resulted in them issuing a summons for Geoffrey Jackson to appear. They are shown to be totally devoid of true caring emotion, bound by rules, not able to think for themselves, liars, evasive, totally lacking in genuine care for the flock as well as victims of abuse. The other chilling revelation from yesterday was that 3 - 4 cases of child abuse PER MONTH are reported to the branch in Australia. That amounts to as many as 1.5 pedophiles per congregation !!
I had a friend here. that's an elder;Atlanta Ga. his young daughter was molested by a brother in the hall. he told me he wouldn't let her go to the elders2person thing nor report it to the police it would bring reproach on Jehovah's organization

In the United States, there are so-called blue ribbon commissions to obtain facts and suggest policies. If they find serious wrongdoing, they refer the matter to a prosecutor to decide the merits. Don't know Australian law but the processes are similar in all former British colonies and of course, Great Britain. Don't get me started about the Courts of Human Rights and JW morals. I could write for hours with no research. You don't need to be a weatherman to know that child abuse is wrong.
This is just sickening, you can see ignorance of many of these elders who are not even aware of local laws regarding such things. Their strict adherence to that two witness testimony is what's going to either shut down JW activities or start throwing them in jail. The governing body is going to have to be brought in to testify and they will screw it up.

Here in United States if someone accuses someone of murder they won't arrest them. Or even if they do, they will let them go if there isn't enough evidence. People can't just get arrested just cause someone accuses someone. And I've seen in this law system that even when it's obvious committed a crime if the right evidence isn't presented people can get away with even murder. Sad to say the law is like a sport now days, it's about what lawyer has the best argument that wins. So if the law in the most powerful country on Earth at times can be hard to understand or imperfect, why are they expecting these men to be perfect? I would love to hear the questions of Commission members and staff. What do you need to call a branch for when a child might have been sexually abuse and such abuse is a crime in every place except ISIS controlled territory.
I hate how they literally don't even consider the possibility that if the parents are abusing the child that the abusive parent might LIE to make them look like a parent "who's trying their best." My aunt has been a Jehovah's Witness for 25 years and she lives with my family,( basically she is just living off of my father's income because she never went to University due to the JW's teachings that you're not allowed to get a Higher education and so she couldn't get a decent job because of that). She constantly swears at other people including me when she is not in field service or around congregation members, she is very short tempered and foul mouthed, basically a two faced hypocrite when she is with other members of the congregation, she is nicer to them but is very hostile when she is with us, she leads a double life. She is very sneaky, and likes to gossip , the funny thing is, she tries to convert everyone in my family into becoming a JW but I'm not buying it.

Interesting that Mr. de Rooy, a leader in his Christian congregation, does not know the context of a verse he is citing to support his ideas. But this is typical of JWs. They often do not understand what the bible says or what it's about beyond what the hierarchy tells them to think about.
Why kind of question he is asking the elder: Are you not protecting public from a disfellowshipped person? When it is a job of an elder to protect the public? Is this not a job of the Police? The victim (1st person) shall notify the Police of the crime. There is no legal requirement for elders (2nd person) to report the allegations. So who is to be blame? Elders did not break any law for not reporting because their is no law. Who is to be blame then for not having a law? Need to ask the Law Makers. That is the purpose of this ARC, this is an inquiry in aid of legislation. So they know what law is needed to make. Now the commission realized the lack of reporting is caused by the absence of a law. What is the solution? Make a law for mandatory reporting. Is it easy to pass this law? No. It can be impossible. Main stream religion such as Catholics, Protestants and Muslims will never agree that they will be obliged by law to report allegations inside their church. This makes them liable when a crime happened in their church that will not be reported. In the other hand, this is not a problem for the witnesses. They have nothing to hide.

Jankatana, 1) Jehovah's Witnesses report crimes to the Police. I am a parent so if any crime happens to any member of my family I will report to the Police then I will also notify the elders. This is regardless the crime is committed by a fellow JW member or not. It is the victims absolute to report abuses to the authorities. Elders can help if the victim wish to. Elders has no authority to go against the decision of the victim. The victims will not be disfellowshipped if they will report a crime. This is the truth. Elders will call the branch to for legal advise when handling a child case. Everyone has the right for legal counsel and this includes the elders. 2) If the victim goes to the elder instead of the Police, the elder will explain to her rights to report. In a situation where the accused is the parent of the child, the elders will make sure the child is protected. 3) It is not basic human morality to report crimes based on 2nd hand information. This is called hearsay. What is normals practice is for the victim to report the crime. The victim is one of the witnesses. 4) If the the child told 20 people of what happened to her, will all 20 people has moral obligation to report to the Police while the victim stay at home? Normally the Police will ask where is the victim? Interrogate her. Her statement is the most important than those who only heard her story. 5) If a Catholic child is raped by his father, will she goes to the priest? How many priest you know that goes to Police precinct to report crime in his town? This is not realistic. We all know that if a crime happens to a child or to anyone, either you call 911, 999, 000 or to the nearest Police station.

Since when is what they are saying here, NOT the same thing as if you confessed to a Priest of the Catholic Church for Confession? You report things that you have knowledge of what is GOING to happen. Does the Catholic Church get involved in members lives or do they also say that that should be a legal issue for the police.
My best friend since childhood has been a JW since her 20's. I asked her what she would do if one of her kids were to be abused within the organisation. She said with out a doubt she would take her complaint to the police. She is a solo mum and said it would be her personal choice to make this decision and she felt confident that the elders would act on the findings of the police and weed out any offender from the congregation. The commission is trying to ascertain that in situations of abuse where it is lawful for a victim to decide not to take their complaint to the police, does the JW organisation have an adequate procedure to provide a standard of care that protects the victim from further trauma. From what I have seen in these clips the JW organisation is clearly not trying to cover up anything and are very transparent in their procedures and have said they will improve on any procedures found to be lacking. So you JW haters out there keep it factual and in prospective. Sexual abuse is a problem belonging to the world and the JW's do not want offenders of this nature in their congregations as no christian organisation would. But as it is Jesus that invites sinners into congregations to repent and put on new personalities any christian congregation can be made vulnerable.
I realize your comments were made quite awhile ago, but I hope you have followed more recent court cases where the JW organization has been found to be incredibly deficient in reporting pedophiles to the proper authorities. The other chilling revelation from yesterday was that 3 - 4 cases of child abuse PER MONTH are reported to the branch in Australia. That amounts to as many as 1.5 pedophiles per congregation !!

In the United States, there are so-called blue ribbon commissions to obtain facts and suggest policies. If they find serious wrongdoing, they refer the matter to a prosecutor to decide the merits. Don't know Australian law but the processes are similar in all former British colonies and of course, Great Britain. Don't get me started about the Courts of Human Rights and JW morals. I could write for hours with no research. You don't need to be a weatherman to know that child abuse is wrong.

My aunt has been a Jehovah's Witness for 25 years and she lives with my family,( basically she is just living off of my father's income because she never went to University due to the JW's teachings that you're not allowed to get a Higher education and so she couldn't get a decent job because of that). She constantly swears at other people including me when she is not in field service or around congregation members, she is very short tempered and foul mouthed, basically a two faced hypocrite when she is with other members of the congregation, she is nicer to them but is very hostile when she is with us, she leads a double life. She is very sneaky, and likes to gossip , the funny thing is, she tries to convert everyone in my family into becoming a JW but I'm not buying it.

1) Jehovah's Witnesses report crimes to the Police. I am a parent so if any crime happens to any member of my family I will report to the Police then I will also notify the elders. This is regardless the crime is committed by a fellow JW member or not. It is the victims absolute to report abuses to the authorities. Elders can help if the victim wish to. Elders has no authority to go against the decision of the victim.
The victims will not be disfellowshipped if they will report a crime. This is the truth.
Elders will call the branch to for legal advise when handling a child case. Everyone has the right for legal counsel
and this includes the elders.

In a situation where the accused is the parent of the child, the elders will make sure the child is protected.

4) If the the child told 20 people of what happened to her, will all 20 people has moral obligation to report to the Police while the victim stay at home? Normally the Police will ask where is the victim? Interrogate her. Her statement is the most important than those who only heard her story.
5) If a Catholic child is raped by his father, will she goes to the priest? How many priest you know that goes to Police precinct to report crime in his town? This is not realistic. We all know that if a crime happens to a child or to anyone, either you call 911, 999, 000 or to the nearest Police station.

It is sown a physical body; it is raised up a spiritual body. If there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual one(the scripture says if there is a physical body there is a spiritual one that is a definite)

However, what is spiritual is not first. What is physical is first, and afterward what is spiritual. 47 The first man is from the earth and made of dust; the second man is from heaven(it says that our first life is from the earth, our second life is from heaven, although we will still inherit the Earth because the Bible says that but just like Jesus could transfigure a spiritual body on the mountain, as a perfect person, showing us that it can be done as a perfect person, we will also be able to form a spiritual body once we have perfected our physical bodies...have you ever thought about what the tree of life was supposed to do for Adam and Eve? We could have lived forever without ever eating from the tree of Life. Jehovah God said the only reason why Adam and eve died is because they ate from the tree of knowledge (what was the tree of life supposed to accomplish?)

Jehovah God then said: “Here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad. Now in order that he may not put his hand out and take fruit also from the tree of life and eat and live forever(THE REAL LIFE is ACTUALLY the SPIRITUAL LIFE, that's how we become TRULY ALIVE)

And just as we have borne the image of the one made of dust, we will bear also the image of the heavenly one. 50 But I tell you this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s Kingdom,(now remember we're supposed to inherit God's kingdom but the Bible says FLESH AND BLOOD CAN NOT INHERIT GOD'S KINGDOM so that right there tells you you're going to get a spiritual body in order to inherit God's Kingdom (because we know Jehovah can't lie(Titus1:2) because there will be more trees of life in the recreation(Mt 19:28; Re 22:14)

Revelation 7
After this I saw, and look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands. 10 And they keep shouting with a loud voice, saying: “Salvation we owe to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.(remember when Jesus transfigured himself on the mountain he was in a "white robe"(we know a lot of Revelation is symbolic)
Revelation 7:14
These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and THEY HAVE WASHED THEIR ROBES and MADE THEM WHITE in the blood of the Lamb(KEEP THIS SCRIPTURE IN MIND)
Revelation 21:10
So he carried me away in the power of the spirit to a great and lofty mountain, and he showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God...It had a great and lofty wall and had 12 gates with 12 angels at the gates, and on the gates were inscribed the names of the 12 tribes of the sons of Israel. 13 On the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates.(notice where the city and the gates are, they are in heaven, actually earth is just supposed to be God's garden, the city is in heaven)
Revelation 22:14
Happy are those who wash their robes, so that they may have authority to go to the trees of life and that they may gain entrance into the city through its gates..( notice Who gains access to the city (heaven) and it's gates(the entrance to heaven), THOSE WHO WASHED THEIR ROBES.(Re 7:14) We know those who did that came out of the great tribulation. During one of the drama movies in the assembly(Summer of 2020 Friday session) she pointed out to her student(Jade, Like Jaded) that there is no hunger, death, or pain in heaven...but we know Jesus actually hungered, felt pain and could be killed on Earth and he was perfect flesh and blood, so in order for the people on the Earth to be able to not hunger or die we would have to obtain spiritual bodies because only in heaven do they not hunger die or feel pain... Jesus was are roadmap, he was born, he was baptized, he died, but then he came back as spiritual creature and made himself known or let himself be seen to those he wanted... because also remember Jesus says in the resurrection we are as Angels (Angels are spiritual creatures)
Matthew 22
In reply Jesus said to them: “You are mistaken, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God; 30 for in the resurrection neither do men marry nor are women given in marriage, but they are as angels in heaven Regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, who said: 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob’? He is the God, not of the dead, but of the living( You know Jesus can't lie and faithful servants of Jehovah and followers of Jesus Christ are supposed to be resurrected if we die, just as Jesus came back as the Angels are(in the spiritual form) after he was put to death, all baptized Christians will come back as the Angels are and if they are not baptized they'll be resurrected during the 1000 years so they can be baptized so they can then get that spiritual body to be as the angels... because the Bible also says in Revelation that not everybody's gets resurrected during a thousand years, there are some that come to life after the thousand years where ended

And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for 1,000 years. 5 (THE REST OF THE DEAD DID NOT COME TO LIFE UNTIL THE 1,000 YEARS WERE ENDED.)

Since when is what they are saying here, NOT the same thing as if you confessed to a Priest of the Catholic Church for Confession? JW is above the law?
My best friend since childhood has been a JW since her 20's. I asked her what she would do if one of her kids were to be abused within the organisation. She said with out a doubt she would take her complaint to the police. She is a solo mum and said it would be her personal choice to make this decision and she felt confident that the elders would act on the findings of the police and weed out any offender from the congregation.
The commission is trying to ascertain that in situations of abuse where it is lawful for a victim to decide not to take their complaint to the police, does the JW organisation have an adequate procedure to provide a standard of care that protects the victim from further trauma.
From what I have seen in these clips the JW organisation is clearly not trying to cover up anything and are very transparent in their procedures and have said they will improve on any procedures found to be lacking.
So you JW haters out there keep it factual and in prospective. Sexual abuse is a problem belonging to the world and the JW's do not want offenders of this nature in their congregations as no christian organisation would.
But as it is Jesus that invites sinners into congregations to repent and put on new personalities any christian congregation can be made vulnerable.
I realize your comments were made quite awhile ago, but I hope you have followed more recent court cases where the JW organization has been found to be incredibly deficient in reporting pedophiles to the proper authorities. It seems your friend has been successful in gaslighting you into their arrogant stance that Watchtower does no wrong. The organization does not agree with the secular authorities that child sex abuse is a crime…. they insist it is merely a sin and quite prevalent in all religions so JWs aren’t to be singled out as the only religion that has this problem.
For many decades Watchtower pointed to the pedophile problem within the Catholic Church and left the impression that such a thing would never be found within the JW religion. It’s quite disgusting that all the while they were pointing fingers at the Catholics their organization was busy covering up the very same crimes in the JW congregations!
I also find it quite strange that you could view the Australian Royal Commission hearings and miss the obvious point that these JW elders are deliberately not answering the lawyers questions but obfuscating and sometimes outright lying!
JW"s aren't cops or the law, why are these people trying to force them to be something they're not. Jw are normal citizens that just help with spiritual moral matters. Elders cant make or force anyone to do something if they don't want to do, if they did that would be against the law. If someone commits a crime the older men are there to help those in the cong, to protect them spiritually and to encourage them to do the right thing. Anything other than that is the individuals decision or the law. Why are they trying to blame these men? I don't get it.?

I hate people who do bad things to kids, it's why I love Jehovah so much because according to what I've learned and believe is that He will soon eliminate this evil and right all the wrongs one day. Those brothers who are talking right now have helped us learn this. By showing where in the bible God promised this. We disfellowship individuals when they do wrong. But these brothers can't control other human beings. If someone failed to do the right thing they will have to answer to God and the law. It's like if the president of the USA sets laws and humans break them it's not the presidents fault, it's the individual own fault and he will eventually get dealt with.
I can see in the investigation that the elders are going in circle as if they are trying to avoid answering a simple question. If your reasoning is right don't you think the Australian royal commission deserves a straight forward answer?
