I find myself concerned with the good people there who are conditioned to this way of thinking that separates them from the truth of Jesus Christ. Oh there is a lot more, they control every aspect of your life once your in. Your brain will think what they tell you. Most of your time will be for the organization, they will control your entertainment, everything. Even what you can do in your bedroom having sex with your spouse.

A friend of mine who had been out for about 5 yrs give or take was tracked down and called in to a judicial committee. He hadn't been going to the hall in all that time. He had his attorney prepare the paperwork for a civil case outlining such things as defamation of character, emotional distress, slander *this was during the time they used the phrase "disfellowshipped for conduct unbecoming a Christian", and fraud. The cover letter said cease and desist hounding my client or this case will be filed immediately. He never heard from them again. Nor was he disfellowshipped, disassociated or mentioned publicly at all.

However, like my friend, a lot of people are baptized as minors. They are legally unable to make any kind of binding agreement. They can certainly pledge their lives to God, but as we know JWs pledge themselves to the Organization. The Organization has no legal right whatsoever to try to enforce these oral contracts via any means at all. More people do need to sue when they are pursued after removing themselves from the congregation. They cannot require anybody to write a letter, attend a judicial or any of it. I didn't for one.

They were formally disassociated and lost Anna’s family, my parents after awhile came to and are starting to come out now. Dan and Anna are doing well in their own separate lives, and their kids are doing much better than they ever would have as witnesses. I have been watching Kim & Mike for years, and have learned so much. I was taught JW when I was a child because our dad believed, but he was never baptized. (THANK Father God) Three of my sister's and a brother believed in JW's. My oldest sister and her Family are indoctrinated for many years. And their kids. My brother passed away was never batized. I have been working on my youngest sister, because she believes, and was haveing bible studies . (Just broke my heart.) I truly hate what they do to people ! The Royal Commission in Australia was not a court case, what are the rules concerning alleging/alleged perjury? 3. Why o why did that nice Australian legally trained man apparently ask a question to which he did not first the answer, and then, if gb possibly misspoke himself, lied or purjured himself, then he could be put under pressure to explain the conflict? I know this was 5 years ago but I have to say I wish I could have recorded my judicial committee. I had messed up and went the next day and told on myself. The main elder on my committee had some personal feelings against myself and my family and used it against me took me aside, away from the other two elders when they were not paying attention and told me exactly that and that HE had already decided not that the governing body had decided which is who they claim makes the decision. It's not true! The elder in charge of your meeting makes the ultimate decision. The other thing I wish I could share was the inappropriate questions 3 grown men asked a then just turned 18 year old. It was disgusting, I felt dirty and felt very uncomfortable in those meetings. I then got reinstated at 19,I had to move to a diff congregation and jumped through tons of hoops. Then at 23 after watching my dad die over their bull shit rules on what you can and cannot take as far as blood products. I listened to the elders tell my dying dad that he could not have the platelets he needed to clot his blood but oh if you make it far enough u can choose to take the bone marrow transplant now if it doesn't bother your conscience. Just keep in mind you could still stumble your brother. Smh. Back to my judicial committee, I couldn't have anyone in there with me and was asked questions a teenage girl should NEVER have to answer to grown men. To anyone! I was asked very intimate details of the situation, how I felt about it and if I liked this or that. It felt like a huge violation and was almost like they were getting off on not only the answers to these questions but they got off asking the questions to begin with. It was disgusting!

Thank you for posting this. My son met his wife in high school. She was JW.....as her entire family was. I'm so thankful that she left home at age 17 lived with us until they married, and is an adorable, sweet loving daughter, wife and mother of 2. She's never been able to explain her experiences, and believe me, when she was shunned etc there were a lot of things I felt like saying, but God just kept telling me to bite my tongue, continue to pray, and be kind. Because we've never poisoned her by our views, but just have always loved her, her entire family still fellowships with her and my son and their kids. Her family adores my son, never pressure him or the children, even though they are still JWs.......God is Good!!

I faded away during Covid, but was heading in that direction years before when I was married to my ex. He was an Elder and he himself had done things he should’ve been disfellowshipped for, but wasn’t. We didn’t attend mtgs for about 3 years and was shunned , but he was NEVER DISFELLOWSHIPPED ?

No one has approached me to disfellowship me from the Cong I began to attend in another state after leaving my husband. Right before Covid. They knew all my reasons for divorcing my ex and everything else. They began to ignore me spiritually and never checked on me to see if I was in need of anything even though I had left with nothing just the clothes on my back, my car, and my dog👎🏻!
I stopped attending just before Covid about a month and haven’t heard a peep from ANYONE😁! I hope I don’t either👊🏻💕.

1. Cool laws in U.K. reflecting on defamation of character, etc., and if there are any laws for such pending in the USA?
2. The Royal Commission in Australia was not a court case, what are the rules concerning alleging/alleged perjury?
3. Why o why did that nice Australian legally trained man apparently ask a question to which he did not first the answer, and then, if gb possibly misspoke himself, lied or purjured himself, then he could be put under pressure to explain the conflict? I thought lawyers, barristers, etc., were trained differently? Has the gentleman from the AusRoyalCom every addressed this, or had the ARC published findings? Are they considering going forward?

I know this was 5 years ago but I have to say I wish I could have recorded my judicial committee. I had messed up and went the next day and told on myself. The main elder on my committee had some personal feelings against myself and my family and used it against me took me aside, away from the other two elders when they were not paying attention and told me exactly that and that HE had already decided not that the governing body had decided which is who they claim makes the decision. It's not true! The elder in charge of your meeting makes the ultimate decision. The other thing I wish I could share was the inappropriate questions 3 grown men asked a then just turned 18 year old. It was disgusting, I felt dirty and felt very uncomfortable in those meetings. I then got reinstated at 19,I had to move to a diff congregation and jumped through tons of hoops. Then at 23 after watching my dad die over their bull shit rules on what you can and cannot take as far as blood products. I listened to the elders tell my dying dad that he could not have the platelets he needed to clot his blood but oh if you make it far enough u can choose to take the bone marrow transplant now if it doesn't bother your conscience. Just keep in mind you could still stumble your brother. Smh. Back to my judicial committee, I couldn't have anyone in there with me and was asked questions a teenage girl should NEVER have to answer to grown men. To anyone! I was asked very intimate details of the situation, how I felt about it and if I liked this or that. It felt like a huge violation and was almost like they were getting off on not only the answers to these questions but they got off asking the questions to begin with. It was disgusting!
Surely if you grassed on yourself the next day that shows remorse and repentance??? These fools are a law unto themselves. Usually people get DF for 'hiding' their sin

Thank you for posting this. My son met his wife in high school. She was JW.....as her entire family was. I'm so thankful that she left home at age 17 lived with us until they married, and is an adorable, sweet loving daughter, wife and mother of 2. She's never been able to explain her experiences, and believe me, when she was shunned etc there were a lot of things I felt like saying, but God just kept telling me to bite my tongue, continue to pray, and be kind. Because we've never poisoned her by our views, but just have always loved her, her entire family still fellowships with her and my son and their kids. Her family adores my son, never pressure him or the children, even though they are still JWs.......God is Good!!
