- Watch the recently introduced bus journey by Sugama Travels from Kannur to Pune. The inaugural bus journey was done on 5th April. The bus departs from Kannur at 2:30 pm and 2:30 pm from Pune. This bus covers a total distance of 900 kms travelling through 3 states i.e. Kerala, Karnataka and finally Maharashtra. The narrow two lane roads of Kerala and road work bites into the time of the journey. However, after crossing the border and in Karnataka, the bus was able to do good speeds. The bus was almost full due to the festival season. The bus halts for tea break before Kasargod and then for dinner near Byndoor. This bus is an AC Sleeper bus, which is needed in the current heat. Both the bus crew were experienced ex VRL & SRS drivers. We did overtake a few buses along the way as well. The bus then again halts for morning breakfast in Satara. The bus reached Wakad, Pune at 12 pm, the bus was delayed by one hour but it is bound to happen when travelling on such long routes. Especially when travelling from Kerala. I also travelled with the same bus. And i love it ❤️ The drivers name was abdul rashid. We kept talking for an hour about his experience and all that. It makes me feel like 'i want to travel in this bus forever'.. The driver was very polite and honest 😊

Kannur HQ Bus stand is mainly used by buses going around 20kms from the town. There are no interesting routes from HQ Bus stand to explore. All are normal village, semi urban routes. 😊
For long routes, you need to go to Thavakkara Private Bus Stand aka New Bus Stand.
Kannur - Iritty
Kannur - Alakkode to Cherupuzha
Kannur - Payyavoor
Kannur - Mananthavady (Wayanad) via Kottiyoor ghat - Paalchuram (only KSRTC)
Kannur - Mananthavady via Nedumpoyil Ghat ( Private)
Above routes are more beautiful and going to villages near the western ghats.
And as the NH66 widening is happening all over kerala, NH routes are little messed up.

I am from panvel Navi Mumbai but natively from Kasaragod (city near new Bus stand) in my childhood we traveling Kasaragod by bus before konkan railway...we boarding bus from rupam cinema (sion circle) bus like mehaboob (still running but in local); Kohinoor (now to banglore from kasaragod); imdadiya;KCBT, Safar,akber travels of India,sanil etc. slowly slowly all kasaragod bond bus stop tr service..but we love to travel with those buses .frist time watching sugam bus from kasaragod to Pune ....will try to come kasaragod by ts bus .....I think ty should extend tr bus from panvel if not from mumbai city

Yes...we also used to travel by Kasargod bus from Mumbai, a few more names apart from Mehboob is Indo Arab, Bekal Travels. We used to get down at Manjeshwar.

Dear ASH2travel , Sugama travels staff are where much misbehaving with the passangers. I experienced this while i was travelling from manipal to banglore. Bus no KA 20 AC 2189, Driver name Ramesh, plz convey this message to the sugama tourist owner. Never travel in this Travels if all the staff are same.

I drove all the way to Kottayam (Kerala) from Pune on 18th March covering a total distance of 1200+ kms, took me two days with an overnight halt in Mangalore.
Trust me, once the NH66 road widening works are completed, travelling from Pune to Kannur will be a breeze.

Hey nice video bro thanks for covering it. I would like to know how’s the road condition from Ankola - yellapur - kalghaatti section until you merge belgavi dharwad bypass. I travelled in October 23 and this particular section was in super bad shape. Would be great if you share an update thanks so much and happy bushopping

Why the driver not take the shortcut route from Gokarna cross connecting Yellapur highway , instead he went through Baleguli cross Ankola?. I have seen many buses cars avoid this route during night
