When you think the effort BBC put in, it really makes you realise how big this was and how shit it is now.
Remember watching this live on the telly. Great rallying days.
This theme music could be the most 80’s tune I’ve ever heard
Propaganda - Duel 👍🏻
As a family we miss the coats of William Wollard. Good times
I woke up, got a cup of coffee, opened up you tube and find a fresh video from VHS Rally👍, going to be a great Sunday.
When cars were cars, men were men and VHS was the future
Watched all motorsport over the years, but rallying was my favourite.
My word, but this was a trip down memory lane and no mistake!
Thank you I remember this
Thanks for the upload. Looking forward to following the nightly reports. " Top Gear rally report" that music brings back great memories.
Was there that day, 12 years old, freezing cold day.
These live coverages are the best. I’ve been looking for something like these! Better than only highlight reels 😂
Thanks for posting these.
Just what I needed, thanks!
Happy days when the rally started in Harrogate and a stage within a couple of miles from home! Was at the gate at the top of the hill at Rudding. Shame those days are long gone. They wouldnt want the golf course churning up now.
Awesome dude
Watching this and the memories of Sutton Park makes me think Rally GB 2021 confined to only in N. Ireland will be a flop. Hoping the "Old Normal" is restored so we can pop over and spectate.
No rally GB anymore not even the Wales variant but the race has been ruined with the lack of the Sunday stately home stages before getting into the rally proper, long road sections all over the country.. great times following it around in the old Nova SR, sleeping in the car and being massively uncomfortable for the best part of a week... happy days.
Per in the 998cc turbo... 200hp woah not bad hey
And the March/Micra stock weight was 700 kg.
I was there that day
nice
Thanks
Did clumber Park...in a 1973 mini...spectator...
265bhp !!!!!!!!!! In a factory works car!
These were just modified cars from showrooms. Great times if you wanted to buy a sports car, back them they were a real business.
That’s plenty enough in these conditions

By all accounts, the annual coverage was really down to a few individuals - at Pebble Mill or the Top Gear production team, most likely - lobbying very hard within the BBC. Remember that it wasn't produced by teams in London, which was rare for the era. As is often the case, when a few key folk move on, the impetus and momentum can be lost.
