    in this video i go over step by step how to replace the spark plugs on my 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Bob FXBBS 114 Milwaukee 8.
    This is a pretty simple task and should take no more than 10 minutes.
    I'm installing the 10mm Screaming Eagle spark plug wires from Harley-Davidson.
    i give a few tips about how to properly use dielectric grease and some time saving tips.
    Harley-Davidson instructions are worthless, they advise you to remove the gas talk to replace spark plug wires which is ridiculous and they don't even tell you how to do that.
    We'll skip that because it really isn't a required step.
    Hope you find it useful.
    UPDATE: I find it amazing how many posts and messages i get telling me how I'm apllying the dielectric grease wrong. I'm told put it on the plug for better electric connection or to get the.boot off easier.
    just remember dielectric begins with die - electric, that will kill your electric flow connection impeding the flow of electricity and generating heat. heat is not good for electric components and causes fires.
    Dielectric grease should only be places on the rubber boot. it works as lube to prevent dry-rot and sticking and prevents moisture from getting in. Don't believe me, watch this video explanation from someone else.
    The grease is an insulator like rtv however it is also a lube so the wires don't stick. DO NOT get it on the tip of the plug.

    Hi Victor
    Just put the SE red spark plug wires like you did. Thanks! The only thing I did different was to remove the rear tank bolt and loosen the forward one and raised the rear gas tank a few inches. I didn't get any of the grease on the the plug tips or metal parts as you instructed!

    Hey Victor,
    I'm really enjoying your videos. I just bought a 2022 Street bob. I traded in my 2020 softail slim. I have a suggestion the next time you use that stuff may i suggest a q-tip they work great and it leaves no cotton residue. The q-tip will spread it better and you can control the amount you use. Just my suggestion. Great videos though. TY for your time..

    I've got the 21 in orange and have the same wires and cross thread mx style pegs in orange. fyi, mine only has like 500 miles on it and it's in for warranty work. my rear brake pedal assembly ended up not returning after using the brakes and fried my rear rotor, it was a really nice blue color though. periodically check yours before riding, push it down and make sure it returns back up. hopefully mines just a fluke
    Update, the return spring is in the rear brake master cylinder. It failed, they're replacing the entire rear brake system.

      That rear brake does suck, it doesn't do much even after adjusting it like in my tutorial vid but yours had the opposite issue, it grabbed but wont release. Harley-Davidson should provide a better stock product for the money. They know most people change out parts but if they had a good all around product to begin with that would be less required.

    The die electric grease goes on the tip of the spark plugs not the black plastic it is made so that in the future the cables are easy to get off of the spark plugs

    Great install video! I have the same exact bike but when I go to the Harley website to order these it says it doesn’t fit the bike. Are they just saying that since it’s a little thicker than the traditional ones/stock cables?

      just add your bike to harley parts store, then do a search for the screaming eagle 10 mm orange spark plug wires..
      Here is the link for it www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/shop/Screamin-Eagle-10MM-Phat-Spark-Plug-Wires-Orange/p/31600113

    The new wires are thicker and could rub against the frame. That is why they give you mounting clips.

    • @vickaminski
      @vickaminski  Před 2 lety +1

      There is plenty of room under there and no sharp objects.

      Wrong there is bolt inches away and in time the flopping wire will be sliced. That is why HD instructs to use tie wrap.

    Did you pull the main fuse,

    • @vickaminski
      @vickaminski  Před 2 lety +2

      No, there is no electric flowing without the key and ignition on

    • @vickaminski
      @vickaminski  Před 2 lety +6

      Nope, no need to. There is no power to the plugs or coil when power to bikes on switch isn't activated.

      What purpose would unplugging the fuse serve when changing spark plug wires? Just don't try to start it while changing plug wires and you'll be fine.

    All a waste of money for the m8 motors and stay away from the screaming eagle plugs they foul out,only use the oem spark plugs according to mine and others I know experience.
