Don't suppose you've determined if the comb filter or Y/C separation circuit is any good on this device? I'm always on the lookout for something that tackles cross color and dot-crawl well when capturing Laserdisc.
Also what file format does this capture video in? DV level .avi or MP4?

It captures in quite a few formats. Uncompressed and compressed. Next time I'm in there, I'll copy them down and post them here.

The channel Reasonably British has a lengthy comparison video featuring it. He loved the capture quality, but hated the software. A lot. And its manual claimed that it had a TBC, but it doesn’t. And now the manual is no longer available on the site. Its encoder chip has a 5-line comb filter, but he only did s-video captures. I’m also always on the lookout for cards with a good comb filter for my own LDs and their dot crawl. I assume this captures to AVI in whatever codec you select. It captures interlaced video as-is, which is good,

    Could you offer some advice?
I've transferred all my VHS with a Sony DVD recorder. Did well, nice resolution, but not smooth playback, even on crt. However, one more time, I'd like to do it all over again at the best quality I can muster; not upscaled, as analog as I can keep it. Just a direct transfer. Here's my setup:
VCR => Black Magic Mini Analog to SDI => Black Magic Ultra Studio Recorder => 2018 Mac Mini running OBS
So, that's: S Video to SDI cable to Thunderbolt 3 cable to the Mac Mini.
I can get the video I'm after, 525i at NTSC 23.97fps, but no audio. It's just not working.
In your opinion, could the Intensity Pro 4K get me there?

I think the Intensity pro could get you there. I've been really impressed with the quality so far.

Hi - I want to use this to capture video from a Sony camera via HDMI - are there any limitation on codec or resolution when it comes to capture?

So far in my experience with it,, there doesn't seem to be. It will capture uncompressed video in a lot of different formats. It seems to be a great piece of hardware for the money.

@@VintageElectronicsChannel have you tried capturing directly into Resolve by chance?
