yea
A great guide on how to weather a Bachmann Thomas. I'm going to give this a 11/10.
Hope to see a "heavy weathering" tutorial or something of the sort.
There is a historical precedent for sticking adverts on the sides of locomotives. The Millwall Extension Railway used to do it on the tanks of their locomotives. I have a feeling the Great Northern Railway also considered the idea.
I’m not first I’m not last but when trainboy uploads I click fast
Ohh sick rythmes

Im not dumb,neither smart,but i can farely say,this is a scam
Yeah it is

Gonna try and see if this works on tomy engines.
Same (But actually no)
it kinda does
It should as long as you don’t use too much matte clear! It can compromise the sticker detailing if applied too thickly; however it should work in a very similar way. :)
@@ItsTrainBoy thanks for the help man! :)
It should
thomas with blue tack in his smoke box will scare me for the rest of life

Loving the words of encouragement at the end! keep up your creative work my friend!
HELL YEA WE NEEDED THIS
That’s one of the best Thomas models I’ve seen also nice sweater
TrainBoys got a fire sweater
Amazing work! I probably won’t ever have a Bachmann Thomas (as a result of me being broke lol), but I still enjoy this a ton!
Love the model and the face
The music sets a nice atmosphere here, great choice.
This is my favorite video you made
i was a day late to this but im still happy i saw it and i might try this myself as i have been inspired by trainboy and i will most likely try it on a small pocket rocket locomotive and not a large tender engine as a first attempt
Nice bro. Loved the speech at the end
this looks really good! i would like to get a face on a bachmann thomas like your friend did. keep up the good work!
Those shapeways faces are amazing
I must say this looks great, even with not too much work done to the model. This actually helped me in realising it wouldn't be too hard to actually make a model look beaten-up (a bit), and if I ever use money to buy a new Thomas (after all, my birthday's coming up!), I'd probably do this (though maybe replace the face with a smokebox door from something like a Bachmann Junior loco, to make a more "realistic" engine).
Nice tutorial, as always! :)
Dude, could you stop being incredible for like 5 minutes? Like, your videos are incredible!
Really useful guide! Now I want to do that to mine
Are we just not gonna mention how my man has some serious drip on today!
i love it the final result.fell more realistic
Those faces are really good! I'm gonna work on my models soon though i'm not in a hurry so will take my time
Thomas face describes me when I see eBay sellers list tomy Oliver as mega ultra rare
This is really cool,
this is really good ngl thx for the lesson pof.trainboi
Amazing
Another great video. I've been wanting to make my tomy thomas look a bit better but Im scared I was I would mess it up because its my only tomy thomas I have. Since I've been putting it off lately.
So maybe I'll jump into modeling of my own thanks.
I have seen that model on Instagram. That guys does pretty well with his models. I have seen this model. It is good.
Thomas had never seen such amazing paintwork and sculpting before.

I like your sweater
Me who uses hornby: This will be very helpful
i know a lot of people replace the face of bachmann thomas because its cheap and inaccurate looking but where do people get them from? even a generic face is better than sunken eyes thomas
Wooden Thomas' or a custom made face
@@AlecWheelweld I'm surprised wooden thomas would have such a high quality face.
You can also get facemasks from shapeways
Well hopefully this can apply to my hornby model
I didnt have any weathering powder in my house at the moment but my Idea was to dry brush the bunker and other areas with almost dry black paint.
Very nice
2:00 like your sweater lol
Ima use this 😎
Thank you so much for making this video!! \ ^o^ / I finally have an idea as to how to make my own Bachmann Thomas a bit neater, thanks to you!!:D Thank you so, so much!!:)
If this was your mood from the community post with Lady, it wasn’t what I was expecting. Nevertheless, great customs as usual!
Cool!
I'd probably add a little more weathering to the footplate just outside the doors.
Whenever I fire, I always manage to get a little bit of coal dust on the footplate, and that always tracks on my shoes to the most commonly walked areas. I feel like I'm always having to sweep coal dust off of the footplate, and a little bit tends to follow me wherever I stand most. Of course, you don't see much of the footplate on these models, but dust does tend to spill out the doorways and get around.
This video is awesome 😎😎😎😎😎😎 Tainboy
Epic.
When my dad and mom and i get to the U.S, they would actually help me make a giant layout.
nice sweater
I've got a question about weathering: If you're using more than one weathering powder on the same model, example coal and rust, do you add them one at a time then clear coat or apply the first set of weathering powder first then clear coat and then add the second weathering powder and clear coat?
Imagine if schools had engineering classes that would teach you how to customize or make your own model train
Cool 😎
That’s a nice thomas.
I am actually fixing up my bachmann thomas right now! I am making him an RWS and TVS hybrid type model

“What can make you more proud than doing something with your own hands”
How many inches wide is the masking tape you used to cover up Thomas' wheels?
Cool where you get that angry Thomas model?
Does the matte spray paint prevent the lining from chipping
That box table slam tho
Where did you get the faces from shapeaways?
Where do you get the custom model faces?
My first Bachmann Thomas would probably be wearing a worried face right now as it doesn't seem to run anymore and thus is a clear guinea pig for an attempt at weathering an engine!!!
Are you going to buy a coolprops Thomas model in the future?
I do plan on buying two Bachmann Thomas models but plan on modifying them to create two OCs that have been kept in the shadows for four years.
Can you do a video on how to remove the wooden railway faces and put them on the models?
Oh, by the way, were did Thomas the privatised tank engine go? It says it's been blocked in my country. I live in Italy.
You better be saving that box bro he hooked you up.
5:24 Thomas had to advertise S25...God dangit mattel
If you want good weathering see the Big Mac model in the floating sac of coal scene.
Just saying in regards to advertising on locomotives the American locomotives before 1900 or so were literally colored so brightly for free advertising xD
Hi there am planning on perhaps giving my hornby tornado a face and NWR tender decals any help would be grateful
nice
Do u guys have a website where I can get the faces because I need faces for my Thomas model
Shapeways!
The matte paint kinda gives it a season 6 look
have you got any tips on what to do if the bachmann thomas' motor wires snap or come loose from the motor?
A small soldering torch should do the trick! They also have some glues that work as a good conductor but they can often be pricey and not work as well. Just be sure you take your time and be careful!
Imagine commenting on a premiere.
Lol
Could never be me.
Wow
what episode did edward get posters on him?
Edward, Trevor and the Really Useful Party from Season 3
Are there any other appropriate sized faces that can be used as alternatives to Marvin's faces? (i.e, a tomy Thomas face)
You can find some on shapeways!
Hey TrainBoy, for the coal dust weathering, use real coal. I learned this from Unlucky Tugs recent video. They sell lumps of real coal on Amazon. I couldn’t get any but I used charcoal and it works real well.
I’ve used such for certain projects! However I’ve personally found the coal dust to be a bit more thick setting, so normally I use it for heavier weathered models. :)
@@ItsTrainBoy Bet. Do you use the same weathering powder for the water tanks?
@@unotheangel1134 Yessir! The same powder was used around the whole model this time.
@@ItsTrainBoy I tried to use a different color for the water tanks like a reddish type weathering
It's out of context, but can please someone answer me this question, can dc train models work on ac track? Let's say can a bachmann thomas work on a marklin ac track?
I think the faces would be better with eyeholes. They look slightly bug-eyed with the merged eyeballs (a problem shared with Hornby's faceplates. Hornby does not have Learning Curve or ERTL's talent for sculpting the eyes to have depth).
If you're up for more advanced work, I would cut and drill open the cab windows.
Out of interest will you waether any diesel locos in the future?
One of the stickers says Nice, Banana 🍌
How do we buy the angry face please?
Thanks! I have a major problem and I cannot sleep due to it...the paint on my Bachman Thomas has faint cracks and are peeling. Some of the red linings seem to have gaps between them and I don't want to ruin the model. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
Normally once the lining comes up it’s hard to fix the original stuff. :( The same thing happened to me on an older model and I’ve attempted some dry transfers but it may be easier to remove the lining and readd it yourself with other forms of such. I’m sorry my man it’s the worst when that happens.
@@ItsTrainBoy Alright, thanks! Hmm, maybe when I get older and more skilful with the brush I shall repaint my Thomas TVS style. My James model has had it worst so I’ll be painting him in his black livery. Do Hornsby models face the same problems?
Good vid
Nothing more needs to be said
Yeah! 7th!
5:16 Thomas: Nah bro. Gotta do it for the money. BUY WHATEVER ADVERTS ARE ON ME!
My problem with weathering is, I feel like if I do one model, I’d have to do them all :/ otherwise some would be weathered and others will have a new paint job
Awsome but exactly was this "paint mishap"?
I'm working with O scale so even if I end up believing I can do this good I worry too much to try
4:48 kinda looks like thomas is angry at you for ruining his paint XD
Today I rescued a Lionel o scale Thomas with Annie and clarabel. Yes they screwed up and made both from the same mold. Anyway, Annie is missing her roof and Thomas is missing his roof and funnel. Is there anyone 3d printing these parts? Thanks for your time.
I liked the the TVS accurate smiley face but something just seams off about it
