Excited to finally see progress on the semiphore beetle. Also really surprised you have an autostick speedometer. Hope I dont have to do a full overhaul to my speedometer but at least I have this video and the forums to look for info with!

Hi. It is possible to remove the brass nubbin that holds the needle. Place some layers of tape on either side (to protect the speedo face from the tools) and lever up on both sides at the same time. Put a plastic sheet over the top of the dial, as it is a press fit, and the plastic will catch it - otherwise it will be launched into space once it comes loose. 😅

Anyone know the silvery color of the inner circle with the odometer cutout? I took mine apart (Ghia clock actually) and scratched and would like to repaint. I looked around for spray paint and couldn't find a match.
