You're really great at piloting the deck. That's the thing I'm still missing a bit. I do get better but I still do some misplays and seconds later I'm like "Oh no, I should've done this differently" But Sky Striker is so much fun I keep on improving 👍🏻

@@auctaway Yes, that's exactly what makes it worth. When I win I'm happy because I played the cards good enough. With modern Decks like Snake Eyes or even Kash it's not that hard climbing to Master but with Sky Striker it is and that's the fun for me.
The issue right now isn't current decks being difficult, but that there hasn't been anything new that's forcing me to play differently. Had an easier time climbing with Sky Striker than Rescue-ACE last season but did well enough regardless of what I was running because I already know how all these decks work. Maybe Horus Engine and S:P will allow for some more interesting stuff to use and play against.
I completely agree, there's very little that forces change in playstyle or deck building currently. Even more Rescue-ACE players on ladder makes it slightly easier because of Thrust/LS/Duster, but constantly having to see Snake-Eyes and Labrynth doesn't allow for many cool plays since the other matchups are so far between. I personally won't be a fan of S:P coming to the game or more things that encourage Tear casino builds, but Horus Orcust is a cool deck. I'll look forward to Striker support and White Woods, but there's little else of interest.
I watched one of your videos a month or two ago and your decision making is top notch! Do you have TCG or OCG playing experience from before Master Duel? I'm pretty average at Sky Strikers, but it seems like you know every deck choke point and how to attack their board. Well done, I'm inspired to improve my Striker deck and see how far I can go with it
I play both TCG and OCG and have played the game almost since near the start of the TCG when I was a child. I learned mostly with the video games, a card shop at the local mall, and I eventually played on a Dueling Network for a very long time. I took a break from the game around around 2016ish until 2-3 years ago so I don't know a lot of the early Link era decks, but I at least try to learn how to play most of the new decks that come out, even if I'll never play them. I just play Sky Striker because it feels like one of the only decks where you win through knowledge of the game and its mechanics as opposed to the strength of the deck itself. I'm glad it inspires you and improvement from the deck really comes from playing a lot and learning from different situations. I make a lot of mistakes, but they help in the long run so it is good to just keep playing and not get discouraged.
@auctaway Thanks, it makes sense that you are better are reads than me based on your history with it but I'll work to improve. Other high skill decks you recommend? So far I like Swordsoul, Resonator, Spyral, Endymion and D/D/D
@@sirnightw I wouldn't say decks themselves are skillful, but I think Branded is a really hard deck to play optimally as opposed to just the flowchart lines. Endymion is also really impressive to watch playing into boards and dismantling them.
He had one unknown card at that point and it could be Gamma or Ash. It's better to play around it to ensure I win on the next turn even if it is unlikely.
@@shadowspector3611 I would argue that his play was correct because he guaranteed his own followup for the next turn. He could have chosen to do that or just have 2 Zeus activations with only Jiaolong and a topdeck next turn. The choice he picked is only one interruption, but it forces the opponent to draw at least one way to remove Zeus and end on a way to stop Razen and his topdeck next turn. If he left his board as it was he knows I have Engage and he knows he loses to search Raye, priority effect to summon Kagari, grab Engage back, and search Widow Anchor putting him on one topdeck against the two random draws from Engage that would have otherwise been forced to deal with his current board state. In my opinion, he was easily the best player in this set of replays, but he got slightly unlucky.

My guess is he wanted Razen back so he activated Zeus to put Razen in grave so Rock could chain. Still seems pretty dumb to me.
