I prefer Avarice, but if you want to be realistic, Desires will probably be useful more often. I just don't like the randomness that Desires introduces in a toolbox deck that relies heavily on a lot of one ofs.

The card is fine, but I don't really think it has much purpose outside of Fire King. You can already beat Fire King normally, so I personally wouldn't run it, but if you like the card you should try it

It's fine to run. I personally don't really like it in Striker, but other people have success with it.

Change Change of Heart and other cards you don't feel are impactful to Droplet or Raigeki/more copies of Lightning Storm/Heavy Storm. Tear is usually decided by how many shufflers they mill and it isn't really a skillful matchup.

I'm going second and my goal is to break the opponent's board and cut off further plays, which leads to a few problems: -If they stop playing because of Maxx "C", the interruptions that Striker puts up are not enough to deal with a strong deck on the next turn and Striker is unlikely to kill an opponent that passed on minimal interruptions. If they committed all their resources and I got rid of them, there's a lot less to worry about going into their turn and the game is often won at that point. It's better to let them play because of this in my opinion. -Maxx "C" is statistically unlikely to resolve and I need all the cards in my hand to be live to beat any meta relevant deck. -In the case of something like Ash, I can save it for Maxx "C" on my turn. If someone takes the Maxx "C" challenge there is nothing I can draw into that will save me because I don't want to run other hand traps. The card is broken, but it does not contribute to my gameplan at all. I would always rather have it be a board breaker or some other consistency card.

The worst hands in Striker are the ones with multiple starters and I feel I lose most of the games where I draw multiple Raye. When I am able to play and need to draw good cards off Engage, Raye is the worst card to get off the bonus Engage draw. I saw lists running 1-2 Raye so I decided to try it. The difference isn't really noticeable and it feels like the bricking issue comes up much less.

Other stuff I used were Raigeki, Lightning Storm, Bystials, Duster, Treacherous Trap Hole, Imperm, more copies of Tactics/Thrust, Change of Heart, Forbidden Droplet, and probably other stuff I'm forgetting. Anything should be fine really

Yes, always. You can choose to go first with floodgates and things like Cosmic instead of LS/Duster, but I prefer it this way

That's one reason, but using it to survive the turn against decks like Branded that would otherwise have no issue killing you is another. Also, there are times when you can end on Multirole, but have Shark Cannon and Widow Anchor in grave and you'd otherwise have nothing to search to reset one of them.

one thing that helped me with boardbreaking is by cutting off maxx c. whenever i use it, my opponent has ash or called by 90% of the time. lol

@@fierypops6508 I wish I had better Centurion games saved, but it is very important to start with searching Widow Anchor to make sure that Crimson Dragon is never really able to resolve. Maxx "C" is a great card, but it is honestly fine to abandon it in a deck like Striker. Similar to Branded (which also often cuts Maxx "C" in MD), you need all your cards in hand to be live, especially if you're going second. Using a card that will draw around 30% of the time and not resolve the majority of time you draw it can often lead to disaster. While the payoff is game-winning if it resolves, I personally don't feel the risk is worth it, even if other people find success with it. This is just a preference thing and there is no such thing as a correct way to build a deck, but it works for me.

Camellia says you can only summon her once per turn in the first part with her summoning conditions. That unfortunately includes summoning her to the opponent's field by her own effect, so the only real way you get her removal effect is if you choose to end on her over Shizuku or whoever then she is removed on the opponent's turn (usually by their attacks, effects, or Linkage).

I was surprised I was even able to finish the rewards super quickly with it. I wouldn't recommend it to someone that doesn't already have 2 Change of Heart and 3 Snatch Steal, though.

I did something similar to this in the earth/water/fire/wind event and saw some OCG players do it for the Xyz event, so it's one of the sillier things you could sneak into events like these. Also played against a few trap monster decks in this event, so it's probably fine honestly

I think Cyanos enables a lot of board clearing capability/extension, especially when you send her with Hayate or Camellia. Normally you can't access Azalea, Zeke, or S:P as easily so having more options when you're low on spells is helpful. However, the card is really mediocre to draw and you don't really ever want to start with her as your lead play, so that can be a huge downside. I would say only use her if you find her fun or are willing to deal with worse hands to get more use out of your Link-2s.

Thank you, but I prefer not having many viewers. I don't like attention too much and this channel is mostly just for me to look over the history of MD and try to fix my misplays. You will eventually get used to what decks do just by playing a lot. I often look up lists for MD from OCG players on Twitter, so there isn't really that much surprises me with how people play or how I have to adapt. You could also watch the streams of competitive players to learn what people are trying to do without actually having to play the decks. Good luck in learning the matchups

You'd be fine without Desires, but it's just preference honestly. There are times the card doesn't do anything and Desires would be better, but I don't like what that card does in a deck that runs so many single copies of cards. I like to try cards on ladder regardless of what people think about them since there isn't really anything to lose

@@auctaway I think avarice is only really bad when you open with it but even then you can easily use it as a discard to have a spell in the GY. And Striker is not a deck that usually win on first turn (aside from the otk combo) so avarice will come in handy on turn 2 most of the time. Desires is just too risky for me. Like you said it's preference but personaly I don't like it.

@@makenaiyomi1083 Something really important to remember about Desires, and choosing cards for Striker in general, is that while you are looking to play beyond your first turn, other decks simply are not. Having a card that does nothing is almost the same as drawing multiple copies of Raye. While I do like Avarice, it's very important to know this is the fatal flaw with it. Against the actual meta decks like Yubel and Fire King, you want all of your cards to be useable or you're never actually breaking their board without multiple things going your way. This is the main criticism for Avarice, and I completely agree with it. It is fine to run if you like the card, though. Against slower decks, it becomes very useful at the cost of hurting you when you draw it against the more common good decks.

@@auctaway I agree. I didn't really think thhat far but you're right with it. Currently I'm experiencing with cards a lot. I pulled a royal Heavy Storm so I had to put it in the deck.

I'm not very good at video editing beyond just adding music or talking over a game. I could try to add commentary on some games. A big problem with guides for Striker, at least for me, is that I generally don't have a gameplan and do stuff according to what my opponent does, so it would be very different for every deck and opponent, but I'll try in the future.

@@AsphodeliaAlter It's probably my second favorite deck ever now. I think it is possible to climb with the deck to M1, but it's not really an amazing deck. Some of the current meta matchups can be rough, but it is like that for rogue decks in general. The later support it gets is nice and Fiendsmith cards really help the deck's consistency and ability to go second whenever they get added. I see people try things like Exosister or Mathmech in MD, but I prefer the pure version. Compared to Striker, I find Vaalmonica very simple, but still good enough to do fine. It could take a while to get used to since the deck doesn't have loads of plays, so knowing matchups and making the best of your limited tools is very important.

​@@auctaway Thanks for replying! I've mostly been playing Centur-ion and though people seem to think it's a lot better I find it pretty boring, at least how it is in MD currently... Only real goal I have in MD is trying to improve and get diamond and hopefully in a long time master, so if it's viable for that then I'll probably try it especially since it's light on URs in main deck aside from staples. Will probably take a long time to learn it but if I have fun it's probably for the best, right?

@@AsphodeliaAlter Centurion is very strong, at least in my opinion. I see it a lot in Master and people do have/had high ELO with it in the rated mode. The deck is very linear, but it's extremely effective at what it does, as well as playing through Maxx "C", while also being able to play a lot of hand traps. Improving is all that really matter, so don't take whatever rank you are too seriously. Enjoying games is really all that matters, so if Vaalmonica looks fun to you, go for it.

Whenever I have too many monsters on the field, it is usually because of Cyanos, which applies the Machine lock after the effect successfully resolves. Amblowhale is the best card to Link them all into and can float into a Striker Link or be replaced on board with Linkage and have the graveyard pop effect still be useful. I rarely ever summon Accesscode anymore, but this is just a playstyle/preference thing.

Camellia makes monster theft cards so good for the deck now

@@auctaway i used to run a small variety of charmers for the selene line (dark, light, earth) but i agree completely, camelia shennanigans blow that out of the water

I think one Camellia is absolutely necessary. I normally don't like thinking that there should be definitive ways to build decks, but being able to turn any two monsters into a way to play is extremely important. The same goes for the third Engage in that there is no reason to not be running three. Amblowhale is just preference and it could be Accesscode or a different link. Neither of those cards come up often for me, so just play what you want in that slot.
