Hello!
Youngger gen Taishanese American here and just want to give you some support! Got here via Brittany and am so thankful that there are still young people like me that speak Hoisanvah and are passionate about keeping it alive. It's been one of my goals for awhile to make a vlog but was discouraged by family who view Hoisanvah as "hillbilly talk" or "for old people". Seeing these videos inspire me to go for it and abandon these inhibitions!!
好感謝您啦!
Thanks for your kind words! That experience felt intimately familiar to me. Got to address that we aren't country bumpkins 🤣 and the dialect isn't just for old people 🧡 it's for everyone who has a heart for it!
This is so cute. It feels so good to hear someone else speak my family's language outside of my family.
Hello very happy find this channel about thaisanese, i'm from Indonesia borneo Tarakan, my grandparent are from Thai San.
I found your channel from a video by Cantonese with Brittany. I got to say you are the first person who speaks taishanese with such a gentle and mellow voice. I really enjoy it! My grandparents speak taishanese and I sometimes don’t understand them. Thank you for all the efforts you put into teaching taishanese. Keep it up.
Thank you for your kind words and encouragements! 💪🏽
Jade, you're seriously tempting me to start learning Taishanese!!! 😅🥰
Hahah sounds like I am in trouble! 🤓 You Cantonese fans are going to so mad at me Daisy!
@@InspirLang not me I'm not!
@daisy I'm down to do that together 😅😂
@@israellai 🤣
I am loving this. So hard to keep taishanese skills as I don’t get to hear it much unless I am with family. Preserving the language and culture is a gift.
Thank you for watching!
Wonderful video, I haven't heard Taishanese in 30 years, it brings back memories of my grandparents.
Please more videos!!!! Amazing amazing! Wish I could be friends with you!!!!!!
I love the features of Z!
Thanks Angela! I had so much fun editing and secretly adoring Z hehe 🤤
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL, thanks more Taishanese videos please!
I always wished I could have spoken with my partner's Grandparents in Taishanese before they passed, but nothing like this channel existed that I could find. Thanks for providing all these excellent learning resources. I've been listening to your Learn Taishanese Daily recordings, and I hope to take an online class in the future. ❤ from Vancouver Canada.
A really cute video using your adorable dog to demonstrate. It’s so good to know that this old Cantonese dialect is still spoken from different parts of the world. I’d like to say that I too am a toisan speaker, but I feel that when I was much younger, I have not been practicing enough. I only know the basics of everyday conversation. Thanks for sharing your video!
This is actually Brittany's dog from czcams.com/users/BrittanyChan888. Thanks for her generously providing the video footage for me to voice over this Taishanese video! Hope you still find chances to use Taishanese nowadays
There’s this CZcams channel called “I Love Languages” that records audio samples of different languages with translation and transliteration. It would be so cool if you would record some Taishanese for that channel, that way it could be preserved forever. Love your channel! I’m starting to realize the similarities between Cantonese and Taishanese because of this channel 😊
Wow nice suggestion! I will email the creator. Also thank you for the support!
I think this is a good idea. It will allow more people to get to know what Taishanese is, and what it sounds like.
Love the content! feels like im at my family house!
It’s interesting watching a video with someone who speaks my home language, very refreshing. Keep posting more videos!
Thank You!
I am a native speaker of Taishanese and I have to say that your pronunciation is really impressing me. great job,加油!actually, I am an English student, I am interested in how you translated Taishanese into English in subtitles. so I've subscribed to this channel. 🥰
Thank you!
So cute 🥰
Thanks, this is awesome!
Thank you for watching!
Omg your dog is so cute 😍
In thai Nai is the question for where too
Wow didn't think of that! Very interesting connections
both sides of my family are from toisan. hard to find tutorials and these are really helpful
Thanks to this video, my dog now always washes his hands before having breakfast ✋🐶👍
Outstanding!! Quite cute too.....
What a cute dog! Cantonese with Brittany provided me with the footage and she has the cutest dog and helper!
Amazing to hear this proper Hoisan! Wish u could hold formal classes!
I actually do! You can find them here at inspirlang.com/zoom
This is so helpful! My godmother's mom speaks Taishanese and I always give her a blank look when she's talking to me haha
Hahahha 🥲
I'm Malaysian Taishanese and I speak Taishanese as well, so I can understand it without the subtitle.
But most of the Taishanese in Malaysia has a heavy influence by Cantonese, so usually our ending was reduced.
What an interesting regional difference!
What do you mean by "our ending is reduced"?
Hi Mr. Ng. I am a Malaysian from Kuala Lumpur. My late father was a Hoisanese. Very glad to know you can speak Hoisan vah. How about you lead a Malaysian group that can help those who wish to improve their Hoisan vah.
I hope you to make more videos and write blogs in Taishanese, Taishanese is a very interesting language that I have not seen before.😆😆😍😍
Thanks! I will try!
more taishanese content plzzzz!
Working in progress! I also have a separate channel for Taishanese videos too: czcams.com/users/TaishaneseStorieswithJade
Hi I am a Taishanese speaker from Malaysia 🇲🇾,
May I know which varieties of Taishanese language are you speaking ?
Because in my varieties of Taishanese,
I will pronounce the word 你 as ni,可唔可以as hua em hua yi ,
so 你可唔可以 I will read it as : ni hua em hua yi.
And the term good morning in my varieties of taishanese is Dou sin.
Anyway, thanks for sharing the video, I hope you could make more video in this Beautiful language !😍😍😍😍
I speak the one from 台城 Taicheng subdistrict 🤓 I hope to make more videos in Taishanese too in the future!
FIRST!
Well technically this isn't published yet LOL 😄
Sounds like Cantonese. Is this a language used in Taiwan ?
i like the Lh sound lol
😂
ok enough with the 1 syllable words im ready to board a rocket and launch into space can you recite in taishanese the 太史公書 revision, some chapters from lao zi in 道德經 you must definitely tech the 康熙部首 perhaps some renditions in 梁朝 LIANG by 墨翟Mak6-zi2 Mòzǐ today is sunday and its still early so i want all this done by tonight its for my documentation ok ok
oh yea and the classics 五經
@@leonlivingston1084 This made me laugh so hard that I am crying. 😂 Dang I got a lot of work to be done today! Also to drop a bombshell, the more ancient the literature is doesn't make it multi-syllabic, so please bear with that brother 🙂
你有沒有台山話字典推薦?
我經常用這個:www.stephen-li.com/TaishaneseVocabulary/Taishanese.html
@@InspirLang嘩!唔該!
@@InspirLang could you make a video of 唔該and 多謝? thank you
The dropped [d] & [t] initials are really throwing me off.
& some turn into [h] sounds?
Is there are rule? LOL.
But good job.
Always been fascinated with learning another Cantonese dialect.
As a native Cantonese speaker, i could understand about 70% of the speaking of this video (it was my first time to hear Toisanese). I don't understand why someone said Cantonese and Toisanese are mutually unintelligible.
They are mutually unintelligible! We call Mandarin Kok Ngui (national language) and those who speak it are usually Bahk fong ngin northerners
Maybe because it's very slow and uses easy words and visual cues. In normal speech, it's probably far less intelligible.
😂😂😂😅😅😅
It's like a Vietnamese baby speaking Cantonese. 🤣
Good morning: dooar xsin
nice 讲漏咯
I'm confused as to why a dog needs to wash its "hands" before eating...
I thought Z was Brittany’s dog? Haha
Yes, that's Brittany's dog! We are having another fun collab together!
