    I like the occasional voiceover. You pull back from the detail and give us an overview of the construction and the larger topics such as the overall design, thinking, philosophy. These topics matter. The regular style building videos are also great. The variety works.

    I build pole barns in Michigan. It’s so interesting to see how people build different. Love the content! I’m young, I’m only 28 and I’ve only been doing this since 2018 when I got out of the military. So I’m happy I found this page to learn different tips and tricks 🤘🏼

      Uh-oh, you called it a pole barn! Kyle wigs out over these being called pole barns as it is post frame construction. Undeniably there is a difference but it's as annoying an an 11 year old telling you a motor is not an engine. It's cool you can build up there and Kyle is a good model if thats the case as he lives in a state where anybody can just start working as a builder! In other states that requires experience and state and county licensing and not just confidence.

    I just turned 60 yr. Old in July. I have been in Constuction all of my life. Framing is also my favorite part of the build process. Trust me when I say you will get slower by the year. Seeing your channel makes me miss the days when I could work 10 to 12 hours a day no problem. We never had the luxury of the equipment you have but seeing you 2 do the work of a normal framing crew makes me wish i did invest years ago. I have a crew of 4 and I am the oldest but the youngest is 58 so I know the day is coming when I have to give up to the younger ones but for now, I am still the one on the roof. I appreciate your love for what you do and the attention to detail. Keep up the good work. You are a dying breed my friend.

    As a general contractor of 18 years, I still learn something from almost every post you put up. Super detailed, super efficient, super caring. No short cuts. Just honest work. If you ever take on interns, you it me up.
    And also a pretty good family man from what I see. Keep it up brother!

    One of the things I’ve learned as a construction manager and something I definitely see in your work: if you’re focused on working as smart as possible while also focusing on excellent craftsmanship, you’ll inevitably be working more safely as well because you won’t be exposing yourself to unnecessary risks and you’ll always be thinking ahead.

    You guys rock. I've been paying attention to your channel for a minute now and seeing how you have grown your company and incorporated machinery into your builds. Your efficient, smart and fast. Having been in the construction trade all my life your love of your work shows in your end product. You definitely have your heads screwed on straight, no pun intended.

    Voiceover and explanation of the design as well as process were super helpful! Wish there were contractors around here who built post frames on a perimeter foundation instead of just pole barns. Never ceases to amaze me how the combination of expertise and equipment can allow two people to do so much in a couple of days!

  • @Garth2011
    @Garth2011 Před 9 měsíci +1

    There's nothing better than having the tools and equipment to make the job less stressful on the worker. When they reach the age of 45 or so, they will be much better off !
    Overhangs should be a code requirement ! I have seen many residential developments with NO overhangs at all and stare at them wondering what the true idea in that is/was. Likely in material cost but in the long run, weather and sun kills that idea as being anything close to legitimate. Truly love the idea of scrap wood to support butt joints !
    Plumb and square is always king...makes for more precise assembly and the building itself equally stabile.

    I think the most satisfying thing of your job is that you can drive around in your area in 20 or 30 years from now, seeing all the buildings you done with your hands still standing. Not like in other jobs where you work like a mule and the other day it looks like you never where there getting things done.
    Thx a lot for showing, nice thing with the voice over...

Now i do quality inspection on a stainless semi tanker building company. Easier job but i suffer from my beat up construction body daily

    I'd venture to say that any additional time spent in this phase, compared to 10+ years ago, is well made up for in even better quality. I've been super impressed ever since a video a while back had you chasing an eighth of an inch over something like a 40 foot run. Quality takes time, and you've found ways to make that as efficient as possible without losing the quality.
