The Infiniti G Convertible is the Nissan-owned brand's competitor to the BMW 3 Series Convertible. Like the BMW, the G Convertible offers four seats and a folding hard-top roof that retracts in under 25 seconds. Boasting stylish looks and a decent ride quality all models are well equipped and provide impressive performance from the 3.7-litre V6 engine. Despite the extra 182kg of chassis strengthening required over the coupe model, the rear-wheel drive G Convertible handles well and makes a great noise with the roof down. Negatives include a slow automatic gearbox and with an asking price in excess of £40,000, the interior feels a little cheap.

When i saw that this review wasn't made by Matt(or whatever that fun guy name is), i thought that this wouldn't be nice, but she is quite good both in reviewing cars and being beautiful.
I was glad to hear her take on the handling being a bit wallowy as compared to a 370Z. I own a 2014 Q60S with a six speed manual and a 2004 350Z with a six speed manual.
The thing i noticed was that the 350Z just goes straight and does not hunt the road at all where as the Q60S requires a bit more driver input to keep going straight. The Z is also a tad bit quicker handling. The Q60's 3.7 L engine does not have the bottom end torque of the 350Z, but the 3.7 L engine really revs up higher then the older 3.5 L. As for acceleration, both cars accelerate to 60 the same at around 5.4 seconds. This is because although the Q60S has 330 hp verses the 350Z's 287 hp, the Q60S is over 500 lbs heavier.

Regardless of my love for Jaguar and their designers, Jaguar does indeed have an issue with reliability. I spoke with Jaguar dealer servicemen, and they are aware of how many of their models are problematic. That may also be the reason why Jaguar tend to depreciate in value quicker.
The Infiniti M56 variant isnt offered in the UK so they wont be reviewing it. Only the M30d, M37 & M35h are available.

there is no doubt about the quality and reliability of japanese cars, but they do lack a bit in the style department. i beleive this review is very good because everything said about the car is true, they also make negative comments about european cars too, and are unbiased about them.
i think she meant that in the back children will fit fine even if someone who is 6 foot is driving (she was talking about the driving position)

I dunno about "wallowy handling". I had a non-sport G sedan and it was right up there with our BMW's and steering feel was excellent. They do seem a little hard on some brands.
Perhaps she's tested only the convertible. I'm sure both saloon and coupe would be a lot stiffer than this.

It can't be compared to Z4 or 370z. It's main rivals, as for me, are 3-series convertible and a5 cabrio, especially a5. Cause they are of a same class and 2+2s.

I just watched the A5 review before this and there's obviously more room in that car's backseats. And yet she complained about them and in this car she clearly had no headroom in the back and she praised it. Very inconsistent.

You can't compare sporty 2-seat roadsters such as the Z4 or the 370z to a 4-seat convertible. Its natural rival would have been the 335i Convertible if anything.

I think its a beautiful convertible, a great alternative to the Germans however Its such a shame its so expensive. The bloody thing starts at £45,670!! Thats thousands more then what Mercedes commands for thier E-class cabriolet, BMW 3 series convertible even the Audi A5 cabriolet all of which are priced under £35,000. The again the G37 is equipped with better standards at its price point.
