My echo show 8, along with my kitty, who woke me up as I was gasping for air last year-saved my life. My girls, specifically my younger daughter, a Nurse practitioner, programmed it so she can check in on me-it’s on my overbed table, because, unfortunately, that’s where I usually am these days due to health issues. It even recorded my kitty waking me up, and I printed a screenshot from my iPad, and gave it to my dear friend, but extreme anti-cat Doctor..who has it on his wall at home since he retired last month. (His wife put it up because she wants a cat…yea, many layers to this) Bottom line, when I couldn’t breath I immediately had Alexa call my daughter, who told me not to get out of bed, she was calling EMS and would tell them where she’d hidden a key. I was in congestive heart failure with pulmonary edema and the ER doctor said had I not come in when I did-I wouldn’t be here. I understand some folks have an issue with privacy…especially because I have 2 other echo dots in other rooms..but for someone like myself, they are literally lifesavers. It was also neat to be able to talk to and see my lifesaving feline during the months I spent in and out of hospitals-and she could see and “talk” to me. (She was NOT happy! ) Even my best friend got a show and dot after my experience..much to the dismay..and marital discord with her wonderful, but sometimes, understandably, paranoid Russian husband. My doctor friend’s wife is still working on him..both for echos and a cat. 😂 Am I afraid of hackers? Sometimes. But my ex, a software engineer specializing in security..has also helped us secure my wifi & bluetooth networks. Despite that, I keep covers on my iPad and phone cameras when not in use. I’d love one of these bigger ones for my kitchen..which I’m spending a bit more time in after cardiac and physical rehab. I just can’t afford much right now, unfortunately. I’m lucky, for now, to still have a roof over my head.

I got my Amazon show because of having Verizon home Internet and I consider it a $250 mistake that I'm glad I didn't have to pay for. It does not listen to commands very well and is very inconsistent.
My Echo show 10 become super slow since some weeks ago. I think is this new widget pannel that appeared from one momment to other. Is there someone who had this same issue? A hard resset will solve it?
Thanks for video , could this display show me security cameras , outdoors , 4 at once on screen , as I plan on getting 4 and would this display give me notifications. when camera pick something up ?
Have been using this at least a year. Replaced a show 8. It ignores me whenever I talk to it. Then, when I go to an adjoining room and talk to an Echo Dot, it responds to my Dot commands. I am ready to replace it with an old Show 8. It's that bad.
This is an excellent video. Thank you! It looks like a great device but weird that the software is so limited. Seems like it should be like a Fire TV with more 3rd party apps. Just need to be sure Browser, Spotify and YT are covered so maybe some sw was fixed. It lags while it's sending all your movements and videos its secretly taken of you, over to Bezos. Should only take a few minutes every hour Jk, maybe that's true, but I still love my Echo devices, lol
I bought the echo show 8 today, then took it back for refund. It’s an absolutely pointless device for me. Wanted an alternative to Facebook Portal Go, but cant load any apps, can’t Skype, can’t video messenger, can’t WhatsApp messenger, has no battery, d the sound nowhere near as good as the Portal Go. Absolutely pointless. I’m guessing the echo show 10 won’t be much different, so will give it a miss. Just an expensive intercom.

A new version of echo is redundant if the service keeps going down hill fast.. Its almost a useless software.
