He's the best live singer I've ever heard in my entire life. Bruno Mars is one truly gifted artist in his generation and a musical genius. A legend in the making!

Only someone born after 1997 would have the audacity to call this guy a musical genius. The music is composed of simple, catchy cookie cutter chords that any 15 year old with an acoustic guitar could learn how to play in less than an hour. He is a good singer, granted, but if he is the best you've ever heard in your life you are seriously missing out big time on some real artists... you know artists who have released more than a one hit wonder.
Alex Alexander I agree with you, but I don't think Bruno Mars is portraying himself as a musical genius either. He has a great voice and his musical compositions are definitely elementary, but he set out mostly to use simple time tested doo-wop progressions to compose his songs and never claimed to be some progressive refined musical genius like someone such as Omar Rodríguez-López is. Bruno Mars has a great voice, but his music is definitely catered to the masses with white knight classics that made me cringe the first time I heard them such as "The Way You Are." That said I like his voice and think on a technical level his ability to sing soft in the upper fourth and lower fifth octave is far beyond other popular adult contemporary singers who cater to the masses. He can masterfully sing a difficult song like The Police's "Roxanne" and kill it live better than Sting could in his prime and not dodge any of the notes.
Alex Alexander I'd rate him as one of the best entertainers of our generation purely on his stage presence and acts. And to be honest, in terms of this generation, he can't that far behind. Who does he have to contend with... nicki minaj and Rihanna? At least bruno bring that liveliness that actually gets people dancing as opposed to watching a concert through their iphones

I was in high school when this came out and it feels like I've been listening to it my whole life. Bruno is such a skilled dude. Glad to have him around
I worked as a security for Super Bowl XLVIII, Broncos vs Seahawks. I was assigned to guard one of the entrance to the stadium, particularly one area where most traffic occurred. That day Bruno Mars rehearsed this song over several times and it was like putting the song on repeat. There was no mistakes, no voice cracking, nothing. This guys voice control is masterful.
