Hallo Herr hybridfreak... Was für ein schönes Video. Ich brauche eigentlich keine Anleitung um einen Motor zusammen zu bauen, aber ich bin zu dem Video gekommen weil ich vor einiger Zeit für meinen Vater ne kurze Anleitung gesucht habe wie er seinen 617 zusammen bekommt. (Er wollte es ausdrücklich mal selber versuchen) ... Und nun sitze ich mal wieder hier und schaue mir Ihr Video an. Einfach weil es so schön ist. Und obwohl ich es selbst nie machen würde bin ich sehr froh daß es solche Leute gibt, die neben technischem Know-how auch noch ne gute Kamera haben und vorallem die ZEIT das alles zu filmen, zu schneiden, Musik auszusuchen usw. Und dann auch noch so schön. Vielen Dank.

Dann kennst dich recht gut aus wie man sehen kann. Mein Sohn fährt den 79er 200d w123. Passt da der Motor vom 240er rein mit dem 5 Gang Getriebe? Mit den Federn würde es passen , das Differenzial hinten denk ich wird auch gleich sein. Der 200D ist halt schon sehr schwach. Vielleicht hast ja Rat. Machst du das als Hobby oder bist eine Werkstatt? Wenn ja wo findet man dich? Grüße Wolfgang
@@wolfgangbistekos4596 nur als Hobby ;)
Vom Motorblock sind die Motoren sehr ähnlich, deswegen kann man da sehr viel tauschen und umbauen. Allerdings gibt es verschiedene Positionen des Ölfilters, das ist das kritischste..aber ja, 240 oder 300d im 123er geht!

Schön gemachter Film :) . Hab zwei 407er Düdos und wollte einen davon eigentlich dieses We fit für die Straße machen, stattdessen lieg ich krank im Bett und guck dir beim Motor bauen zu. :D

Somtimes I read one thing (over 24 ,yes) others I read 10 after.It starts ok but smoke a lot.old engine. A pleasure !
Yeah I've had that with an OM615, change the chain to a new one and make sure the chain tensioner works and the guide rails aren't too worn out and it should make all the difference! Chains were like 30$ here a while back when searching for the manufacturer's partnumber and much more expensive when looking for MB partnumber..

Cooles Video, eigentlich müsste ich den OM616 in unserem Mercedes T1 307D auch mal komplett zerlegen um alle Dichtungen zu erneuern...

Ich hatte kein Buch dazu, ich habe mir die Explosionszeichnung von mb-teilekatalog.info ausgedruckt und die verschiedenen Anzugsmomente mit Google auf auf busfreaks.de zusammengesucht. Zusammenbauen ist dann auch nur Zerlegen rückwärts :D
Hello, great video. I am also overhauling my W 123 diesel engine. Unfortunately, the chain on the gear of the diesel pump has jumped over and I can't find a marker to put it back in the right position. Can you give me a tip?
I had problems with timing was putting 24 degrees then the pump now will get it right

Why did you leave the straight edge measuring stick under the cylinder head gasket when installing the cylinder head? Did you reuse the pistons? Why? Thank you for the video
The straight edge keeps the timing chain from falling into the engine. Like this I can just grab it and attach it to the head once it's on (and remove the straight edge of course). Pistons were in very good condition and I only had the block re-honed for new piston rings to wear in.

As I remember Instruction Manual for OM serie engines, it was reccomended there to tight fast regular wire with timing chain, leavig free end of wire. And now you can do what You want with the chain, even drop it in the cyllinder block.) Now after the installing of cyllinder head is is not difficult catch the chain by the free end of wire.
Probably I was wrong.
Let's keep theese best engines inwented end constructed by real Engineers turning and driving!
Mein Dieselmotor OM 615.940 starts by -35 °C (mit Stendheizung Webasto genau)).

Craigslist, eBay, and so on, maybe you can find a paperback one? I was able to find exploded views online and dug through forums for all the torque values and such :)

Welches Motoröl verwendest du? Hast du Erfahrung mit Motoröl-Spühlungen? Wie oft stellst du das Ventilspiel ein? Danke✌️

Als Motoröl kommt das günstigste 15W40 zum Einsatz das es gibt, die Ansprüche des Motors sind da sehr gering Hauptsache nicht zu dünnflüssig! Ich werde das Öl alle 10tkm wechseln, spätestens alle 500km prüfe ich den Ölstand und kippe entsprechend nach. Die Ventile habe ich bisher nur bei der Montage eingestellt und bin seitdem noch genug gefahren das es wieder nötig gewesen wäre (knapp unter 10tkm)

Ich nutze das Mannol Classic 10W40 und wechsle auch max. alle 10tkm, jedoch schwitz mein OM616 recht stark. Dank deines Videos werde ich mich bald an den Wechsel aller Dichtungen (Kurbelwelle vorne, Siemerring und Ölwanne) machen. Ventilspiel habe ich noch nie eingestellt 😓Allzeit gute Fahrt 👋

Hey, I used some MoS2 assembly lube, makes assembly smoother and lubricates all parts on the first startup until they receive their oil :)

minutes 10.14 to 10,21 please I can´t see de degrees and what meas the no coinciding two marks on the top ? when you install de pump thank you , a great video
Thank you! The degrees depend on your engine and differe between different OM616 and 617 but it's always around 24-28° before top dead center (BTDC). With the marks I first rotate the engine to TDC and make sure that camshaft and crankshaft align (could be off by a teeth or so) and then rotate the engine almost 2 revolutions to the desired degrees BTDC. Checking that the mark on the camshaft is before the mark on the cast bearing is just to make sure I am before TDC and not after. I've messed this up before and wondered why it wouldn't start 😉

Nein, die alten wurden nur für die neuen Kolbenringe nachgehohnt (~2/100mm). Führt angeblich zu erhöhtem Ölverbrauch weil das Kolbenspiel größer wird, aber das konnte ich bisher nicht feststellen (ca. 10tkm).

Doesn't matter how much $$$ it's worth. It's reliable and already in existence so it's worth keeping it running IMO 😉

Super Video.Hast du die Zylinder auch bohren und hohnen lassen und neue Kolben verwendet? Teilweise sind bei den Motoren ja Laufbuchsen verbaut,oder?
Danke! Ich habe die Zylinder nur nachhonen lassen und neue Kolbenringe eingesetzt, das klappt je nach Verschleiß der Bohrung sehr gut wenn das Kolbenspiel dabei nicht zu groß wird :)
@@hybridfreak das ist gut 😃, hast du mal die Kompression vorher und nachher gemessen. Meiner springt nur noch mit Schnellglühkerzen an und braucht ziemlich viel Öl...

If I remember correctly it's around 80-90Nm for the sprocket, for the bearings I don't know atm

@@bidong I think there was something about being able to lift the chain from the sprocket or not?! When running it will definitely rattle if the tensioner isnt working or getting enough oil pressure
26 BTDC, whay not 24?
Because it is the 75HP version from a MB100, Mercedes asks for 24-26 and I chose the earlier SOI because I also increased the pop pressure of the nozzles (which retards injection). Runs very smooth and powerful now :)

Schau dir bitte mal auf meinem Video den Motorlauf an... Er hat erst 120000km runter aber ich glaube ich muss ihn überholen lassen 😢
