      Sadly, the one and only time I went to Philly (for business), all I knew or heard of were Pat's and Geno's. I didn't know anyone local. I wasn't impressed.
      Here in the South, what we call a "Philly Cheesesteak" is meat, grilled onions and bell peppers, and provolone cheese. Cheese whiz isn't something that goes on a sandwich. That goes on crackers or nachos if you're desperate.

    • @FlavorofMind

      @alexanderrose1071 Před 13 dny +38

      Pats & Genos are like the fast food version of cheesesteaks. Not great quality, but they churn them out a ton. Instead of cooking to order, they just have a bunch of meat already cooked, sitting, waiting to be thrown on a roll. Not even a good role. Solid when drunk at 1am. I’m a Dalessandro's fan, personally.

      For real. I was born in NYC and in 2018 moved to Philly on a job transfer and loved it. Lived on Fairmount on Pennsylvania Ave. The people are very friendly and like you said, they have good food everywhere. Literally everywhere. I did gain a few pounds. Midway through the pandemic I returned to NYC since I was going to be working remotely for the foreseeable future and my family wanted me back home. I still travel to Philly for work constantly so I do get my fill but the problem is that since the pandemic crime has skyrocketed insanely. In NYC the media exaggerates situations for sensationalism. Get the best torepedo/hoagie/sub roll available, warm that on top of the grill, add the steak, add the carmalized onions, and please for me add good old tomato ketchup, that’s it Cheesesteak, fried onions, ketchup.

Now I've run into places in Kansas City and Denver that specifically say they get Amoroso rolls flown in. Those might actually be places that can make a good cheesesteak because they recognize the importance the roll plays in the final product.

      They are also good. They just get hate now by people in Philly because they got popular outside Philly.
      They still some of the best places around.

    I've been waiting for you to come to Philly and try a cheesesteak! Lots of places try to duplicate it but it doesn't even compare! I'm so glad you finally came here to try one! Also, most locals don't go to Pat's or Geno's for a good cheesesteak. There are so many more solid places.

    Hey guys… Even though it was an advertisement, thank you so much for the message that you put out there about mental health, honorable mention with the way Ollie took the tense subject about the message of mental health and made it Funny and relaxed. I’ve been going through it. American war vet. I don’t know what I would do without mental health coaching. You guys rock in so many ways.

      But don't use Better Help, they sell your medical info and they are worse company than Established titles.

    • @Kraetoros
      @Kraetoros Před 12 dny

      Hey @cornflake233 mental health and wellbeing is definitely something that you should look into working on. It's an unfortunately overlooked part of healthcare for most of us here in the states. That said, look into a licensed professional therapist in your area. Better Help is not a good substitute for proper mental counseling as it's outsourced, often poorly trained, and it's therapy as a business rather than as a healthcare option (in my experience, not elligible for insurance coverage). Sessions on there are quite impersonal as it's all through their application, and it feels more like just talking to a customer service agent on a website. The advice given was all vague and generic stuff, and the scheduling issues were a nightmare. It's a pretty predatory company and I would HIGHLY advise against using it. Seriously, talk to some fellow soldiers at the VA and find out if any of them have a recommended in-person therapist in the area. You'll thank yourself for it, trust me.
