    stryker is a great lil plane. fits in my small car and performs brilliant out of the box! changer the prop and a decent discharge battery and away you go. unlimited vrtical is fun.

    You didn't say it ,I did!Most of guys I've flown RC with have 3D planes and very few of them are even interested in gliders.I'm going to have to step up my game and get back into it really soon.

    yes its the 2.9 meter version. and yes the wings detatch from the fus. leading and trailing pins and a fibreglass main rod , i hold the wings on with wing tape rather than the grub type screws arrangement on the leading edge pins.

    Sorry about the week long RC interoggation-I am forever full of questions,it seems like you've done your homework!It's pretty cool to check out how things are done on the other side of the pond also.And yes-unlimited vertical is the way to go!!

    Hello,
    I use ORBIS 2.0 on my 1/3.75 scale Nimbus 4D. This is a german retractable motor and Dr. Martin Thoma speak english.
    Bests regards

    haha... i didnt mean to come across as calling you or anyone a newb. and yes ive seen such a rig before. infact i used such a device in my scorpio condor. works an absolute treat too.

    i just finished a su37 from depron foam. light weight and cheap power system only needed to fly it. its not uber fast but very manouverable.

  • @crosshairstare
    @crosshairstare Před 12 lety

    True.I have a GPSiren hotliner that will deadstick for about 100 yards3 or 4 feet off the ground.I also have a 1 meter Cirrus,but I've not flown it yet-I did some time unemployed and let my club dues slide.I just couldn't afford it!!

    The Cirrus I have was a chinese made NNRTF(no where near ready to fly).The CG specs on the sheet were to say the least "non specific".I've fabricated an adjustable position ballast rail inside the fuse so I can make slight CG adjustments in flight.
    Call me a newby,but,have you heard of anyone using this sort of rig?

  • @crosshairstare
    @crosshairstare Před 12 lety

    Ah.I think I will have to stick to 1 meter or less,just for transportablility.I should have done that with my Cirrus,but I could Dremel the joint away if push came to shove.A 1020Kv brushless is going on that,the brushed 600 speed it came with "gave up the ghost"(smoked like a freight train too!)during testing.It's the one with the ballast rail rig-it should be a BLAST!!!

  • @crosshairstare
    @crosshairstare Před 12 lety

    How do you like the stryker that is on your channel?I've seen them but never really wanted to spend that much on a foamy when I can cut more or less the same thing and calc up the mac and away it goes!

  • @PilotsOffice
    @PilotsOffice Před 10 lety

    Damnit amazing.

  • @crosshairstare
    @crosshairstare Před 12 lety

    Is your Condor the 2.9 meter version?If so,are the wings detachable for transport?That is an issue I have with any plane 1 meter or larger-it won't fit in my truck.

  • @crosshairstare
    @crosshairstare Před 12 lety

    I was thinking of buying something small to take when I work in the mountainous areas-I usually have 2 or 3 hours of daylight when we return to the hotel.A good friend of mine came across sheets of extruded foam 8x4ft.3 inches thick.It kind of looks like bubble wrap with tiny air pockets.It's fairly rigid-It weighs 1/3 as much as depron.I'm thinking a couple of carbon rods for lateral spars and a 1020Kv motor on a 4cell40c should tear up the sky quite nicely.Do you ever scratch build?

  • @crosshairstare
    @crosshairstare Před 12 lety

    Look closer,there are flaps on the top trailing edge.

  • @crosshairstare
    @crosshairstare Před 12 lety

    I'm also thinking of running the brushless on a lipo,and having a flight pack style battery for all 5 servos to run on.If I run low on throttle,I've still got plenty of glide time and control enough to land.Other than the obvious weight added by using two batteries,I can't see a disadvantage in doing it.Does anyone do this?More weight on a glider isn't always a bad thing,right?

    Where can I buy one of those Retractable motors for a large 8m glider.?
    Please reply ..

  • @Ripstop_pilot
    @Ripstop_pilot Před 12 lety

    still.....all the landings are on a shallow approach. with the speed they carry im surprised they managed to stop in the box.

  • @parkflyer68

  • @Ripstop_pilot
    @Ripstop_pilot Před 12 lety

    well i have a 4 meter ask21 and my approaches are high....full airbrake, steep approach and a well held off flair!
    just like the real thing. that i also fly.

    @jackline01 Před 12 lety

    Y like this

  • @Ripstop_pilot
    @Ripstop_pilot Před 12 lety

    some of the hair raising landings seem to be because of lack of airbrake

  • @GeneralDynamickx
    @GeneralDynamickx Před 11 lety

    Well, I do the real thing... Spending 10 hours on an airfield, working your ass off for, if you are lucky, 3x 10-15 minutes of actual flying?
    I decided to go back to the roots... This winter I will spend building me a nice plane and next spring I'll be flying instead of pulling on cables all weekend.
