I love the 2021 vw Atlas, it’s nice! I love the bloopers! So funny
Awesome video and great review!😸
Damn a budget Urus? I’ll take it!
I love an exterior but if they re style the interior it would be more interesting but I still like everything 👍
Agree
I just bought a 2021. Love it!
It looks likes the Amarok. This car is superb. The center console is beautiful. The fact that it has a spare tire a perfect fit for South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 I love this car. Unfortunate it is not available in South Africa in fact in many countries.
test drove one today...i liked it but didn't love it. i was so sure i wanted one for like a year edit: I ended up getting it lol very pretty after they detailed it. I’m happy with it
Hi there I am considering the Atlas Crossport, After having for months what is your opinion? Thanks -Kartez
Beautiful & big, though a bit pricy. Congrats on 230k! You guys do great reviews & folks are responding by subscribing your channel - Cheers!
I have 2020 VW Atlas cross sport now. Everything is good except interior but I really like my car 👍
On 2 litre TSI in Atlas 7 seaters, we were able to average 7.6 litre per 100 km like 30 mpg easily in city driving. Very fuel efficient Turbo engine.
Bull shit
I think as years go on people will start to appreciate VW's simplistic interior design. Interiors that are too busy become dated too quickly imo. A nicely refined (not material wise, but design wise) interior, with ease of use in mind will always be something car buyers should have as an option.
Nice design and costs less than the 3 row. I like the simple base version, cloth seats, uni paint and 18 inch wheels. Really cool looking cross over.
Great video as usual. I’m surprised you don’t have way more subs. A suggestion: please point out rear occupant air vents in future reviews. As someone with small children I can’t stress the importance of a car with rear air vents that are roof mounted. This is especially critical when kids are in a rear facing car seat since the console mounted vents won’t reach them.
Thank you!
I am leasing one now....I love it....I dont have the R line but I do have the Sel with tech and 4motion. Same color as in this video.
The incandescent turn signals just seems out of place on this vehicle especially in 2021
The incandescent turn signals are okay
they need to be led's
I don't see anything wrong with that.
@@Kumar-bg6nr yeah well i do
Probably takes 2 hrs to change the globe
Nearly every mainstream automaker (except Mazda) with SUVs in what Americans call the "midsize" category offers two vehicles. The larger group are 3 row vehicles that range in length from 195" (Highlander) to 204" (Traverse). A group of smaller SUVs most ranging from 187" to 192" in length are nearly all two row vehicles. (The KIA Sorento is the exception, 189" long with three rows.)
On average each manufacturer's larger entry is from 6" to11" longer than its smaller counterpart in an effort to provide more cargo space and more passenger capacity. Examples include the Explorer (199" long vs Edge (188"), Hyundai Palisade (196") vs Santa Fe (188"), Honda Pilot (197") vs Passport (191") etc. In VW's case, however, the automaker has learned that Americans prefer their Volkswagens to be considerably larger than Europeans. Thus, the US spec Tiguan is the largest of compact SUVs. The Taos tops the list in terms of size among sub-compact SUVs. And the Atlas as one of the largest 3 row SUVs in the marketplace. It's designed for the American market, built in the US, and isn't even sold in Europe.
So when VW saw the opportunity to add the Cross Sport to their US portfolio they followed the same pattern. At 195.5" in length it's the largest two row SUV in the midsize category and less than 3" shorter than the Atlas. From that one might expect that the Cross Sport offers an especially roomy interior for passengers and cargo. In some ways that's true. The 40.4" of legroom in the 2nd row is not only especially generous, it's more than the the big brother Atlas.(37.6")
Unfortunately, though, the "coupe-like" styling of the Cross Sport with it sloping roof, especially from the 2nd row to the rear bumper, sacrifices both passenger and cargo space compared to only slightly larger Atlas and its box-like design. The Cross Sport provides 37.8" of 2nd row headroom compared to the Atlas' 40.4". But that difference pales in comparison to the cargo space of the Cross Sport vs the Atlas. The CS provides 40.3 cubic ft of cargo space behind the 2nd row. The Atlas offers 55.5 cf in a vehicle that's less than 3" greater in length. Total cargo space amounts to an even greater deficit for the Cross Sport, 77.8 cubic ft vs 96.8 cf in the Atlas. Just to drive the point home, the Honda Passport, nearly half a foot shorter than the Cross Sport, offers 50.5 cubic ft of cargo space behind the second row compared to the VW's 40.3 cf and up to100.7 cf in total depending on the legroom allocated to the first row.
The Cross Sport may have appeared especially roomy to the reviewers but the admittedly attractive sloping roof coup-ish stying sacrifices a significant amount of interior space considering the vehicle's overall size.
This was actually a really great review
Thank you!
The front of this truck looks so good why can't volkswagen make they sedans look this good from the front?!?!
This is still a good used SUV for me to buy.
The car is beautiful but it needs a redesign with a new dash like in the toureag
Have the full sized R-line and the gas mileage is terrible. The best I’ve averaged on the highway is 19mpg, and I average 12-13mpg in the city. Apart from that it’s a great vehicle, hate to say it but I actually really like it.
I have this in blue. ❤❤❤❤❤love it
We bought the AWD with the 6 cylinder in December. Great vehicle. Very comfortable and tons of room. We only paid $36k. If they upgraded the interior to compete with Kia, I can't believe I am saying that, they could command more money. The interior is so cheap in look and feel.
How is the suspension?...does it feel very solid or does is have that bouncy "fleety" feel that Kia has.....also noise....how is the sound from the road?
Exterior of the cross sport is beautiful, but VW just lacks on the interior. The chinese version of the cross sport(Teramont X) has a completely different interior. You’d think VW would just copy this interior for the NA market, but due to pricing constraints(why not just buy a Q8) i doubt it will ever happen. VW has to have a line of differential between Audi & VW, atleast on the styling side. I expect the facelifted cross sport for 2022/2023 will get minimal changes.
Not too shabby VW! Looks aggressive with the R Line trim.
I love mine ! Just wish it was some more razzle dazzle inside 🤣 BUT I loveeee it
Would love to see what this looks like in black
I like the 2019 and older DRLs with turn signals integrated, why did they change that? For that reason and others, i got the 2019 atlas with technology
Does Volkswagen include a rear fog light on their US models?
I really like this, but it sucks that the headlights are not fully LED the interior doesn’t have a premium feel or essence about it, and the exhaust system is fake it’s too expensive for it not to at least have real a exhaust system. I guess the Mazda cx 30 carbon edition which is much smaller than this will do ‼️🤦🏾♂️💯
Nice VW!
Man, that interior 🤦🏽♂️ Like a warm glass of water on a hot day
What does this mean?
Mr. Funkapotomas lmao fr
@@totenblok Haha I like the interior
@@bobbyblue3348 That the interior sucks its not satisfying.
Even tho I don't agree, that's freamin' hilarious!! 😄
do a video on the toyota chr vs honda hrv
I can't believe this is a mid size crossover
Will we ever get it in RSA?
What’s going on Andrew!
What trim levels does the r line package come on? Can anyone tell me
Can we put the Atlas Cross-Sport steering wheel in the GTI and Gold R? The capacitive gloss black buttons are impractical and quite honestly gross
Vw is just behind the times, needs led lights all around, auto brake hold..my 2007 vw cc had auto brake hold then Audi and vw removed it from most models, interior needs better soft touch materials like how Mazda is currently killing its interior game lately.
why are they still putting the small ass screens in these cars???
Not everything has to be a stupid tesla or an iPad on wheels.
Because why not? You got a phone to play on its a car screen, your like 2 feet away from
You can't beat a VW for the quality/price! I love my 2020 Jetta. It's my 3rd Jetta. I looked at the Cross Sport and liked it a lot but it was just too big. Now, they have the TAOS which is just a lifted Jetta.
Why are most SUV makers doing away with fog lights? Where I live, we have a lot at certain times of the year and they really help. Also, it makes the car look strange and unfinished or not a high trim level. 🙄
It actually has integrated fog lights.
I have this car. It has fog lights
Most VW cars (including Audis) have integrated fog lights. They're inside the headlamp units, sadly it is costly to replace them.
I’m not sure about that rear design yet
OMG, $53K and no Head-Up Display along with lousy gas mileage. WOW
Do you have black color
The outside look is not bad, the interior has nothing like the Q8, let alone the Urus. The doors are not frameless.
The dashboard looks very cheap. But the vehicle is awesome
We have one…when we reverse or start driving we hear a popping sound on the roof/headliner? We can’t figure it out and dealership hasn’t been able to..:anyone else with this problem?
The only reason that I can think of for that popping sound is that it’s a Volkswagen so that’s probably why? 🤷♂️
@@mapledoodle5516 your so helpful maple , stick to commenting on something you have a clue about .
I see zero reason to pick this over the Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy. The interior definitely does not demand a $53,000 price tag.
I said the exact same thing. It looks like the Santa Fe Calligraphy is in my future.
Yes Volkswagen owns Audi Lamborghini Bentley Bugatti Porsche and 2 other cars does Hyundai own that no Volkswagen richest then tesla
the calligraphy looks like square box ( a very small soccer mom car ) if thats what you like that you but I think the square box style are soccer mom cars. The atlas cross sport is more sportier a man style car. cheaper than audi q8 and 7 times cheaper then lambo urus which they all share the same style
i wanted this as my next car but so many people have problems with it
I have one…it makes a popping sound on the roof which they can’t figure out :/
@@AdrianGonzalez-gj7yv thats annoying damn
The side mirrors are the same shape as the Audi Q8 and Lambo Urus
They are all the same car from VW group. The differences are just cosmetic.
Why did they put LEDs in the rear turn signals and old bulbs in the front signals?? CHEAP AS HELL.
What app is that on the screen at 10:36 when you are talking about the fender audio

@@CarConfections thanks for responding. That’s way better looking than apple.
Is that a Hippo on a skateboard?
It seems more of an Audi Q8 knockoff than a bargain Lambo Urus. Too bad the Cross Sport V6 is rated at 276hp. If VW dropped a detuned Audi Q7 supercharged motor at around 325hp, this Cross Sport would be a real performance sleeper.
Volkswagen own 8 cars Audi one of them

Thanks Capt. Obvious 🤨
A simple ecu upgrade and boom your over 300 ! The 2.0 turbo t is a great motor. Keep in mind the people buying this vehicle are not buying it for a sport car preformance, they are buying for a family suv .
Why get the V6 if the four-cylinder is turbo charged…🤷🏻♂️
but tel me about desel cases
I think vw should ditch the ikea-ish interior and step it up
It's giving Range Rover vibes
the video starts here 0:00
Lol i think we know..
*Thx I really didn’t know*

Awesome sauce! Ur a Genius
There has no 3rd seats?
The regular Atlas has 3 rows of seats!
@@CarConfections thx for info :)
POV this commet gets pinned
All it needs is a lot more power and a much more upscale interior. Lol. V.W. strikes again.
Ventilated or cooled seats?
The sel premium ( as shown ) will have both heated and cooled seats

Interior is like a hundred melted flip flops
We have one and it is in my opinion a piece of crap. Took it through the first car wash with the cheapest wash, no wax or extre just soap. After that the front sensor no longer works, cruise control stopped working, the headlights that used to dim automatically no longer do that. And unrelated to the car wash problems the the rear hatch does not open completely. About 1/2 to 3/4 open.. There is a squeal when you back up that is not one of the alarms.
Ugh.....this is FAR from Lamborghini style lol.
It’s also very far from Lamborghini price

The interior kills this for me. Wanted to like it but for the money I need more. It’s so bland.
Exterior, yes. Width, yes. Length, yes. Height off the ground, ok. Interior, trash and start over. Why aren't there that many of these vehicles on road? Simply Over-priced.
They are all over the road in NY.

Schönes Auto aber ein Riesen Passat.
VW design language just doesn’t do it for me
@Frigy Volkswagen interiors I understand are super underwhelming but audis are actually really nice and well screwed together
They blatantly ripped of the Lamborghini Urus design. They need to at least try to be original.
VW group owns Lamborghini, porsche, audi, Bentley oh and Bugatti 🤣
@@Carfan678 damn I had no idea
Engine is noisy AF, piss-poor MPG and don't care for the GM like plastic
The Acura RDX is cheaper (and nicer) than this 🙄
of course not worth this price ....
Really? $53,000 for this? I spent less than half that for a 2020 VW Jetta which has all of the passenger and cargo space that I would ever need. You really don't need to spend this kind of money to get a nice vehicle!
How has the Jetta been? I have a 2010 Jetta with 140k no major issues, I plan on getting the 2020 or 2021 when mine is paid off
You really have to spend more to get a nicer vehicle.
Scott they actually start off at 35K. Top end model here. And why are you comparing a subcompact car with a mid size SUV, doesn't make sense. U compare your car to a Civic or Elantra
Man, these germans are pretty bad with interior designing. How are you going to wreck that exterior design with that same old sloppy interior.
Also, those front turn signals are ugly and something out of the 90s.
I've seen skeletons with more meat on their bones.......but good review.
Hate the new VW logo
Horrible reliability
Are you kidding.. cheap plastic all around inside and you call it upscale? The one that made for the Chinese market is upscale!
This SUV is unimpressive. The interior is too simple. Nothing special about the exterior either. VW designs over the last 10+ years have been really blah. To each their own but I’m sure their sales in comparison to the competition validates this.
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Interior is ass
The interior is a 💤 snooze fest. The same layout in all VW cars. Like they don’t even try. Vw think we Americans are fat and lazy and we dont care bout aesthetics and gives us a generic plastic shitbox.
