As software engineer / Full stack developer , I struggle a lot with design .
Thanks for this info
really?
You should take a graphic design course it’s super fun to make everything yourself
@@samorwhatever4485 Thanks
what course did you recommend that could set me up pretty quickly
I am currently building a sass but my UI is not really what I expect
Bro I'm good at design but struggle with the engineering part. But I'm not a professional
you should just draw a sketch and ask chat gpt to make it for you
I have been developing my app for about 6 months now (and contracting out things I do not know how to do) and this video would have saved me so much time when first starting out. 😂
I agree with everything you said! Especially doing a 15 minute call on up work to check the vibe of the new hire.
Good video looking forward to the marketing side!!
Been a long time since I found someone share this much info on CZcams for free, never subbed so quickly before.
Thanks so much!
Seriously couldn’t have said it any better
Thank you so much for sharing! Been holding off on this app idea for over 5 years! With your content, I've decide to start the process!
Respect man. I have watch numerous videos of all these people making thousands but they never give prove. I just subscribed.
So, I followed along with this video. I went to 99 Designs, signed up and poked around to see the process as you were showing it. Right there, the top of the list is the recent designs/contests and your design from this video is right there on the top. It is not often you are following along with a video and the very thing the creator is teaching you shows up on the 3rd party page.
Great content. I can't wait for the next video, really feel this is actionable.
I think I'd like to hear more about any failures or pivots you had to make in situations where something might not have been vetted properly. Miscalculated something, poor launch conditions, etc. I think my biggest concern would be dropping $3500-$5000 on putting myself through this process to find that I made a series of poor choices.
Because it's a paid promotion. This guys is making money selling you courses and promoting these websites and not by creating apps.
So much knowledge, it's crazy
Great video! Would love to see you put out more info about this stuff!
waiting for the next video, would love to see the marketing side of things because that is where most new apps lack and die off, lots of money gets wasted that way (speaking from experience)
Keep up with the SaaS content! Straightforward and valuable, thank you!!!
I will tell a quick tip as a freelance designer: 15 minutes call with a designer is not really enough (although it depends on the project) a good designer probably will ask you a lot of questions about the task, I personally do at least 30 minutes briefs, it's not just to know each other and feel the vibe, you must tell about your business, your competition, examples that you like, explain whitch are the strong and the weak parts of your business (so the designer can embrace the advantages and hide flaws), which is your target audience, and etc.
Basically, the marketing begins when you talk to the designer, beacause UX/UI design is not only about making "beautiful stuff" it is also about sales and solving your client problems. Be careful when you hire a designer, there is many, who doesn't understand this because of their lack of study and experience, and many of them just do "beutiful, but the stuff they create doesn't sell nor have any snese in terms of marketing.
his 15 minute call was with a developer not a designer. he worked with his chosen designer over the course of 5 days
great video man, keep pushing this content!
Thank you brother!
This is great! Especially the design part. Lucky for me I am a developer so I'm saving mad money there lol
I actually have done this exact same progress before finding this video! Launching the app on appstore any day now
Did u launch it yet?
Did you lunch?
this all makes so much sense. very open and clear. Thank you so much bro.
Man just solved my problem in a video.
I’m a full-stack Django/Python developer. I also love Swift and iOS. My problem is UI/UX.
Thanks!!! You earned a sub from me.
This is the single MOST beneficial app development video I have seen. Makes sense along with your credentials and also that you are not emotionally attached to the software dev process since you aren't a developer and you are focused on the results. Amazing job and thank you for all of this free information.
Great value bro! Sick what you are sharing with us. I used 99 designs years ago, glad this site is still such a banger.
instantly subbed! Thanks for the great quality content!
Wow , I’m impressed you’re willing to share in so much detail . You’re going to make waves in software 👍
Man, you're awesome! This is the route to go.
Thanks to CZcams algorithm for recommending this video to me. This is exactly what I need right now.
900 Subs three weeks ago to 4.2k today ! your killing it bro
Did not expect all the love! Thank you!
@@stevencravotta Well deserved! When you show every step without gatekeeping or asking viewers to sign up for your email list, that's what happens, they sub instantly! You're doing a great job, keep it up!

This video is incredible !! Thanks for what you shared and the quality of the content
DUDE! SWEET ACTION BRO! Thank You for making this. : )
I was selected by the gods to see this video !! subscribed 🔥
Looking forward to the next video, Steven!
Saw in the first seconds you are serious. Nice info I really appreciate
This is going to take a lot of the workload off of me. I mock up, design, code, and build everything solo. Just knowing about some of these sites will be helpful for me to focus my energy on many other projects for my portfolio. Excellent video; I'm so glad I stumbled across this
Glad it helped!
Very well explained, valuable information. You’ve earned a new subscriber.
This was awesome! Super easy and concise explanations all the way through. The investment isn't too nuts, and no risk no reward, honestly. This is a great avenue that many people should consider. Very interested to see your next vid on the marketing. Also, 10 points for being incredibly normal, approachable and up-front about not selling us anything etc etc. BTW, my mother loves Wordle, ha!😂 Keep up the great work, Steveo🚀🤩
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks a lot for sharing; sharing is the true definition of love.
Great video, what was the budget for the design contest ?
Do you have all the copyright when the design is over ?
this is awesome steven
I spent the last 6 months learning to code and got my app out on mobile just a month ago
At 6600 installs as of today and $350 revenue: looking forward to your next video! Will work on my UI as its very rough me being a new dev but i have ppl offering to help for free with UI/UX to support the cause of the app

Real valuable information. Thanks a lot buddy.
New Sub here!!, its worth it joining such a community that explanation and process was educative to watch just the right moment because i wanted to hire a designer from upwork but i've found the way things go now, I dont need a developer since i am a developer my self but 99design really is a game changer, thanks bro ur amazing!!
Thank you!
This was awesome, easy to follow, super informative, to the point. Thank you for sharing! I’m ready to design and bring my app to life!
1:40pm pst CA, USA
amazing content bro!!!!
hey Steven, thanks for the video. I am just curious, are you building mobile apps with the intention to ultimately exit them or it's a "churn and burn" game?
Bro you are a leagend!
Thank you for sharing your experience without any distraction or being like other BS CZcamsrs
My pleasure
Thank you very much Steven.. I just subscribed.. You are very straight forward and you give a lot of informations. How can I get the spread sheet?
He is absolutely correct about only hiring from Eastern Europe. They understand the projects in terms of a total project multiple layer and give value suggestions based on that.
Great video, thank you so much. Some quick questions that popped up for me
For the apps, what services do you typically use for the backend database.
Who uploads them to the app stores, do you get all the code from the developer and then use your own account for this?
In the video you asked for a react developer, what did you use them to push it to the native app stores?
Again, thanks so much, super informative and I’m keen to understand more
Thanks for a clear and concise explaination 🎉.
Bruh this is a goldmine gem next level knowledge you are dropping
🤝 more videos dropping soon
Great video, thank you for this.
This is extremely helpful! Could you now dive into marketing micro-saas apps please with different strategies and how to's that would help out so much!
Good on you brother, this is a great video
Hi Steven
Thanks for your inspiring and helpful video!!! :)
Quick question. How can you make sure that you are not building an app with patented functionalities/features/processes? For example if you got inspired by a cool idea from another app, let's say a marketplace app, and you want to do your own thing.
I am also not sure what fix price i would need to set in order to have my app build since I want to make a fair price and hopefully receive a good outcome but I do not want to overpay. :)
Thanks
Cheers, Andreas
Appreciate you brodie. Was lost but now on track to building one of the biggest universal apps since Facebook.
Keep me posted Zuck
99 designs is pretty amazing. I agree its the best way.... not always the cheapest source, but the value cant be beat if you got a serious project that needs to be a winner first round.
Curious if you choose "guaranteed winner" ? I always have, so not sure if it makes a difference or not.
super useful video. thanks for sharing the know how
This was super interesting to me. How do you handle publishing and maintenance of the app if you didn't build it yourself? What does the handover from the developer look like? Do they give you files and you publish it yourself? Does the developer publish it and you take over the account? And if there is a glitch or situation later and the dev is not available do you just hire another dev? I guess it's too many questions for one comment lol.
This is what I was curious about as well. The handoff and codebase maintenance seems like a potential hurdle.
Yes was thinking the same thing.
Thanks for the kind words! Just continue working with the same dev or hire another on upwork. Have the dev send you all project files or store them on github. Dev can update and publish with user access on your ASC account that you can revoke. This way you always have 100% control and you can build a great relationship with your dev. I work with some for years on end, this makes building new stuff / publishing updates so much faster.
@@stevencravotta Thanks for answering. I think maybe I just needed to say it out loud to realize how obvious this was. Sometimes problems are bigger in one's head.
girl analogy was not it 🤣🤣🤣
HAHA I was waiting for this comment
Lmao, it hit for me 😂👏🏾 great video too I’m excited to have stumbled on this tutorial
True life lesson though 😂
subbed for this
Unsubbed for this but good content otherwise. Dont settle for the first bum either ladies
Great content, I was thinking of creating apps with AI tools and no code tools, but your idea is also good, even though it requires more money. I am from the Netherlands but living in Bulgaria, I have had dealings with developers from India and Pakistan, I was so happy to hear that East European developers are the best, I had no idea! I chose the right country to live in, I already loved it here but now even more. I subscribed and will follow you closely. Thanks a lot.
LFG, Steven! Legend
Stricko! Thank you brother
Great video dude! I've done a similar thing but have a question. One problem I ran in too, is finding bugs/wanting to make improves once the app is developed. I then go back to the developer and they want extra money for this and that. How do you handle the process of ongoing support and updates for the app? Thanks dude!
Dude most people are selling shit. Thanks for all the info you rock. Licked and Subbed
Great content!
You should do a part 2 of this video!
Its live! Check my channel
New here and subscribed. Very informative and practical. Hope I can create an apps soon after this.
Hi Steven! 😊
Love your video and thank you for sharing! 👍🏻
I do have a question: If the Developer uploaded to the App Store then who owns the App and how you could have the control of the App? 🤔
Thank you! The developer can send you the codebase or upload it to your ASC account so you have complete control
@@stevencravotta Thanks Steven 👍🏻
do u recommend when it comes to ads just to copy and paste which ads are working for that ai software and retweak it a little bit as your software?
But if you uploaded to 99 design, wont your app idea be copied by other people?
This is new to me. Question, when you find a developer on upwork and u set a budget for example $5000 how would you know that the person will only provide $2000 worth of result or effort since u dont know about coding? Thanks
Looking forward to the follow up!
Great vid. Subbed.
Question: How are payments/banking handled through the app store? Is it necessary to setup an LLC then get a bank account for said company, to do all of this?
Apple handles all of it. LLC is not necessary
It's inspiring to see how the speaker has turned building mobile apps into a successful business model! 💼 Their emphasis on problem-solving, validation, and outsourcing aligns perfectly with proven strategies for app development and marketing.
Very informative. You have certainly motivated me not to give upon my idea. I look forward to the next video.
Great video , honest and impressive
hi Steven how can you be sure the developer or designer isint going to steal your idea? thanks Steven
So much value holy fck
thank you so much, your the best saas youtuber iv seen
Great Video! Waiting for the Marketing and profit video. :)
Subscribed, because I wanna see live deployment data and your actual monetization. Please actually show us real life experience.
I'm curious regarding the security of the idea. Is their any legal protection, at least for Upwork that you get?
Thank you Steven
Steven, that was a brilliant video, thank you so much. I devised an app 8 yrs ago and was stung (not much but I’m retired and on a pension) by an Indian developer and lost heart. Because of this video I’m going to give it another shot. My only question is, how do you pitch the price you’re prepared to pay to have your App made? Mine is very basic.
It’s been a while since I’ve watched such a good video. But how do you handle maintenance and updates for the app?
Thanks so much! Just continue working with the same dev or hire another on upwork
love this! how much customer service and/or upkeep is required once your app is added to the app store? do you need to handle customer service or any technical support issues that come up related to your app?
Very little. Apple handles all. But always good to be communicating w customers constantly
@@stevencravotta awesome, thanks for the speedy reply!

Out of curiosity, if you rely on React native for frontened, what backend do you usually use with it ?
Depends on what functionality you need in your app
99 design is wowwwwwww🤯. Mind shifting for sure so I’m super thankful to have seen this
Hey man can you share the doc's first few page where the checklist is?

amazing content you always build mobile apps or do you also build web apps. which is better to grow and to market. thanks for the content subscribed!!
That’s great man I always think I need at least 50k to launch app😊
My question what’s the next cost after the app run on Apple Store?
Great video, subscribed...Do you have the developer sign an NDA beforehand?..Thank you...
So fabulous 😍
how much does it cost to run the app for you on play store and app store?
Awesome, how you validate SaaS ideas that aren't applications, like web apps?
