- First of all, massive thank you to Scott for making this movie happen for the fans. This movie practically oozes with love for the source material and works as a really fun adaptation of the original story of the games. I want to start with that before stating my opinion on the movie:
If this description doesn't quite align with my opinions in the video, it's because my opinions have matured a bit since seeing the movie for the second time in theaters. Overall, the FNAF Movie is Fun! But not really if you don't already know the lore 💀 If you've liked Five Nights at Freddy's for a long time, you'll have a great time watching this movie. It was definitely made for the fans and I appreciate that, but even as a fan, it's hard to enjoy a movie knowing that it doesn't stand on its own. Fan service and good storytelling can coexist, but I don't think they quite managed to in this movie. Watching it for the first time was a great experience though!

Edit: Also let me know what you thought about the movie! I'm really interested bc this has been a really divisive one. This video shows my initial reactions to the movie after the first watch, the description gives my opinion after seeing the movie a second time in theaters.
When is the second movie
I think that the movie was honestly fun and just amazing for ANY fnaf fan and I also think that the critics are WAY to harsh and they should think about also the lore and how much the fans were waiting for it

My theory of the movie is actually quite simple, what if Michael's dad is the movies equivalent of henry Emily, it explains why William knew where Michael's family was having a picnic at, because Michael's dad probably told william where they would be because they were partners. It could also explain why William was surprised to see the last name of Michael at the beginning of the movie because it's the name of his former partner. And in that case I would also theorize that balloon boy is Garret because it appeared not long before the "it's me" was written on the wall.

The fort scene in the movie really scared the shit out of me cuz I thought they were gonna do a “Together we are FNAF” type of narrative but now with watching it, it makes sense because the people who possess the robots are kids and also they did all that to gain Abby’s trust so they can do what they want with her later. So that scene makes sense to be in the movie and its a fun one too!
Like you said, they are kids. They built the fort because they are still kids so they still think and feel like kids do. They weren’t thinking about ways to gain Abby’s trust so they could kill her they were thinking about how much fun they were having together which made them want her to stay with them forever, and killing her is the only way to do that.

The Freddy that bit Max in half was the real Freddy, not a spare. The suit she was stuffed in was a purple type Freddy suit that Dawko says is “Shadow Freddy”
That's cool. Maybe she turns into shadow Freddy later on.
It’s so weird tho because shadow Freddy wasn’t real, it was literally just a shadow turned into a hallucination.
The games never confirmed that though, we just assumed that was the case.

I also thought the spriglock scene could be read as William enjoying the irony of it all, knowing this was always how he was gonna go and even enjoying his ow death, thus being too busy thinking of all that to scream. I would've liked it either way.
The books fucking say you can't scream while being springlocked,they will tear apart your torso and vocal cords. Which are the parts necessary for a human to scream.

@@stephaniegiacco7524 All books are canon,you can't deny something that it's confirmed. Novel Trilogy is a seprate universe,but some concepts of it are actual things in the games. Most of fright's stories are gameverse and tales is gameverse.
Plus the movie's Suit didn't ever activate fully when he said the line,so his neck wasn't locked and broken yet
I watched the movie, and all i can say is that this is now my new favorite movie :)
i loved how deep it went with afton. it was so close to the game (aftons death) when he gets in the suit in the game and supposably talks bad about the kids judging them and making fun of them, and then in the movie him saying stuff in his last moments such as "look how small you are", "look how ugly you are" i love it.
It's so natural but also shows just how f'd in the head this one is. It comes across as awkward but in an intentional way, like this is him when things don't go as planned so he speaks in a less measured manner.
Question: since Carl/Cupcake can move independently, does that mean one of the 5 ghost kids are a cupcake, plus i think it would fit better if golden freddy was Garrett because it says "it's me"
I think they’re making Garrett the puppet in the sequel, which I don’t mind but that payoff should have happened in the first movie and Golden Freddy would have made a lot more sense for Garrett

I think Carl is possessed by the same girl as Chica. We already saw the boy possessing golden Freddy so Garrett will likely be the one to possess the puppet because we don’t have any kind of confirmation that Charlie exists. The only theory we have is that Henry Emily was the one working on an animatronic in the security video but that doesn’t confirm Charlie’s existence which means the puppet is open for Garrett.
That suit that Max is stuffed into is actually Shadow Freddy, not a spare Freddy suit.
I don’t know why they made the suit shadow Freddy when shadow Freddy doesn’t really exist, he was literally just a shadow turned to hallucination

I don't hate the spring lock scene, I just thought it was random because i felt like there was no lead up to it.
They could of added a more terrifying death with just his screaming instead of dying with grunt noises, also the I’ll be back doesn’t make sense in the context of the movie and should of been saved for another one
@@10nissan67 you know, they weren't 100% sure if there will be another movie, if they will be able to make 2nd movie and add this line into there. I think if they were sure that there will be sequel, they would add it instead of first movie. Also, if next movie will be prequel it would make more sense to get this famous line to first movie.

At first I wanted more out of the springlocks scene, like most people. I understand why because it was pg-13. But I do see that he accepted his fate and was fine with what happened cause he knew he would come back stronger than ever. As we find him and add more flare into the suit. I do think that it should've been more like the FNAF 3 minigame though. Plus we needed a few more minutes of spring Bonnie chasing abby

For me I wouldn't want the straight up elements from fnaf game 1 like the toreador march into the movie because of the fact that I wanted this movie to be much more different than the novels and games with different parralels. Since the novel and game lores are different I want the movie's lore to have its own differences too based on the reason that fnaf really has no true mainstream timeline. I'm really happy that Scott didn't decide to copy what the games and novels did for fnaf into the movie but put both into the mix to get different results.
I had to watch this movie twice in the same night because of an event but I really have to say, this movie is insanely fun to watch, it has it's own charm to it and when it did become dark,.I think it did it wonderfully

Emma Tammi said that the movie frequently flashed back to the 80's and 90's when the pizzeria was popular. We never got any of that in the movie for some reason.

18:20 well the movie is hinting at the fact that Vanessa is the motive. William told her smth like “remember it is your fault for all of this” or similar to that. She is somehow linked to why he is at a murderous spree. How and why? I have no answer for that. We can only wait for future movies.

I will no doubt admit the movie isn’t perfect. The pillow fort that the characters built with the animatronics stumped me, but Bonnie falling over and giving a thumbs up was pretty funny. It’s more of a thriller than horror, and given its PG, it’s gotta be careful with what it does.
We got TheLivingTombstones FNAF song in the credits, which is awesome. Solid 9/10
as I FNAF fan, I want to share my personal experience with the movie, so major spoiler alert coming up
the movie was phenomenal, from start to finish, the tension buildup with the guard at the beginning, then the amazing intro sequence, the FNAF 4 alarm reference, the matpat cameo (Ness, the waiter at sparky's, 'they say that, but that's just a theory'), the fact they showed the animatronics were still misunderstood little children who still wanted to play, the whole fort scene, was amazingly wholesome too, the gore for the movie was perfectly balanced as well, 'the bite of 23'', the springlock scene, all of that was perfectly done, the story behind it was amazing too, vanessa being aftons daughter (which actually confirms quite a few theories), and the way afton delivered his famous 'I always come back', sent literal CHILLS through my spine.

I mean... When I first saw the movie on a Saturday I had very weird expectations going into it because the "FNAF" movie was first announced back in April of 2015 and up until now it had been stuck in developmental hell with Scott not being completely satisfied with movie scripts and the movie passed on to different directors like Gil Kenan and Chris Columbus and then the movie got temporarily canceled and went from Warner Bros. to Blumhouse Productions and Emma Tammi got signed on to direct it... And after I finally saw the movie I said, "it was awesome and it was really amazing and really enjoyable the whole way through from the very opening to the very end of the movie… I’m so happy with what we ended up getting… I was so happy that I even talked a little bit with some random strangers in the hallway who saw the movie and who were fans of FNAF…," but after a while I think my feelings and excitement were a bit misconstrued and over the top and I think I was so happy because the movie actually had enjoyable things and things to be happy about and wasn't a *complete* failure with nothing enjoyable or fun about it because it easily could've been just that... But..., the movie definitely has its *major* problems and issues and things that don't make any sense at all and there is clearly a lack of subtly within the script with the movie over explaining things and not leaving the audience with *any* burning questions and there are weird placements for certain scenes like the "Fort Scene" within the movie and characters that are just generically evil and cruel just for the sake of it (Aunt Jan and almost all of her cronies besides Max and Doug...) and characters that are stereotypical (Vanessa being the stereotypical “cop who is cryptic and knows too much”...) and the movie not being faithful at all to the whole "Afton Family" storyline from the original games by not having Mike Schmidt be Michael Afton and having Vanessa be William Afton's *only* child in the movie's universe and Matthew Lillard being completely underutilized as Steve Raglan/William Afton...
4:31 about this, they planned Markiplier to be the guard in the beginning of the movie
I really enjoyed the movie and i felt like it did what it needed to do in the runtime it had.
I think Afton's motive was similar to the games was trying to bring his OWN kid back. At one point, he says to Vanessa "You have to help me fix this mess that YOU created". Maybe Vanessa accidentally killed her little brother, and Afton murdered the kids to somehow bring his kid back to life. Similar to how Michael accidentally killed Crying Child.
It wasn’t his motivations in the games because he was a narcissist William Afton being misunderstood is just a misleading thingy made by FNAF fans he was a murderer before crying child’s death

Probably FNaF Movie 2 is a Prequel about The Puppet then FNaF 3 is a Sequel where it is Mike vs Springtrap and when there's a FNaF 4 it will tell more to what happened to Garret and then a FNaF Sister Location will be Elizabeth story?
The movie is planned to be a trilogy based on the first 3 games and the silver eyes. There won't be a fourth movie

I saw the first showing in the movie theater and football had been over for a couple weeks but two of the kids on my team were sitting there, so I got to sit by them and watch the movie
I was influenced to the point of becoming a kind of a hater of the movie, what shouldn't have happened, and now I regret it sooo much. I've been waiting for this movie since it was announced in 2015, and it couldn't have been more perfect. And it's a shame for me, being a fan since the beginning, that because of some of my friends and family I was forced in some way to believe the movie was bad, which in this case wasn't at all. One word that perfectly resumes this movie is "respect", they respected the whole community, keeping the fnaf essence in the movie. I was the one who didn't respect the film and who made it, and I will say it again, I regret it, Im sorry. I'm gonna watch it again to forgive myself and fix my error. Sorry.

As a FNaF fan I did enjoy the movie. I still have mixed feelings about the fort building scene but whatever.

Five Nights at Freddy's has way more than that.
Scott Cawthon makes new ideas for each game to prevent the formula from going stale. If the whole movie was just Freddy and friends killing people It would have been another generic forgettable garbage horror film.
This one actually cares for it's characters and it's story.
Many people flame Mike for saying yes at first, i think we forget that this guy is broken af. He lost his Brother, his Mother, the father dipped if i got that right. He is sleep deprived, yes he does sleep a lot but he purpesfully dives into a traumatic expirience. So yeah he is staring at his Brother, his Mother tells him he wasnt the right one for the job of raising his sister. Again he is sleep deprived scared, confused. He gets offered a deep desire. So he says yes, and then he realizes whats going on and backpedals. Im not an expert on trauma, but i know how it feels like to sleep a lot and dont rest so him beeing slow and bad at judgement isnt to far off in my Book.
My only problem is how Afton was underutilized. Maybe with it's sequal, they could fix that problem.

after i left the cinema my friend said that Markiplier was supposed to be the security guard in the intro who is being chased by the animatronics. don’t get me wrong, i would’ve loved to have seen Mark in this film, but if thats the case i think that it would’ve been the wrong call. in my eyes, the intro did a perfect job at setting the tone (even though they deviated from that tone a little), and if the film were to open with a Markiplier cameo it would’ve come across really cheesy and hard to take seriously. but that’s just a theory…

I watched the movie as soon as it came out on Thursday night. I was genuinely baffled when I started seeing negative reviews the next day because I loved every second of it.

Finally a positive video about the FNAF movie. So many haters out there who shit on the movie and suprise suprise most of them are people who know absolutely nothing about Fnaf or any of its underlying story. I mean even as a casual moviegoer you can't say this movie is bad. I think its a great setup for whats to come in the sequels. I also think they do a solid job stitching together the story keeping it familiar but connecting the characters like Vanessa and Mike and William so it makes some sense for new audiences.

I think that yeah, afton in the film enjoyied his own death but i think that he knows that he would come back and that's why he says "I always come back" like in the game, but in the game he says that in the fnaf 6 trailer and not in the first game so I think that he kidnapped Mike's brother somehow "transfer" his soul in the puppet and than the puppet would transfer William's soul in springtrap with still his body in.
I think that the missing children incident scene will be in the prequel/sequel
I think what is very interesting In the fnaf movie is the Easter egg form this franchise that in the beginning no won know about the story behind it and only fans discovered the story of fnaf and that's What's make this franchise a masterpiece from fnaf 1 to scerety breach and I hope markplier in the next fnaf movie

I think that garrett Was kidnapped for experiment of nightmares that was done to him at night like ( fnaf 4 theories of michael getting experimenting ), and vannessa says "i didn't until yesterday" or something about garret. And william kills him after failing those experiments? in the fnaf games puppet was made to protect charlie, they could take a different way but this is my theory about garret, about "it's me" i think as in games it could be golden freddy tho or shadow freddy is there in pizzeria doing this?, and he turns into shadow freddy?

When I explained the part where William Afton was not the father of mike and how Elizabeth and CC were replaced by Abby and (insert his name I don’t remember) they said they didn’t like the concept because even though the characters were familiar it didn’t stay close enough to the plot for them. We are both fnaf fanatics and know the lore inside and out. Still I enjoyed the movie especially since it’s been while since I went to the theater. I also had to explain it to someone who never has heard of fnaf so I had to explain what fnaf stands for who Elizabeth, cc, mike and his allies (it was hard)
Well I'm sure parts that was missed in the movie was in the movie, but the screentime got cut an hour early. I think that will be saved in future sequels.

I was getting exited for the spring lock issue for it to be very bloody and William screaming to death but watching the movie they kinda changed it but idc because the movie was awesome
You obviously don't know how a spring lock failure works first of all there would be no screaming because the spring locks cut your vocal cords and it wouldn't be extremely bloody because the spring locks stab into your body and then stay in there blocking the blood from gushing out you then slowly die from drowning in your own blood from the before mentioned vocal cords and also your lungs that would have been punctured by the spring locks somebody's been watching too many poorly made SFM animations

He looked like he was wheezing instead of being stabbed by sharp metal pieces deep into his flesh. And the blood is literally nonexistent, even in the end scene when he's supposed to be bleeding out. Even if it were like how you described, why make such a disappointing end to the main villain of the story? Fnaf 3 had a more fulfilling death to William and it was a pixelated minigame.
It's obvious they were just trying to make it pg-13.
