As a drummer for over 40 years, from local bars to touring the country, I don't consider myself an expert but experienced enough to know a good drummer when I see one...and I just saw one! Not only her drumming ability but her show, as well. Very entertaining, very steady...this kid is going places.

I feel you! Ads a drummer myself this brought tears to my eyes. She not only jams but her attitude and faces shoe it’s deep in her soul. It’s five years later now and I bet she’s got her own band. Wow, what a pro at 10 years old!

I love how the musicians on stage with her do not care about her age... they are performing with a great drummer and that's all that matters to them.
I say the same, it shows talent is the most important, and they are down to earth.

@@d.bankes No lol. My grand father on my mothers side of the family told me long ago that the eyes were the window to the soul. I was a small child at the time and didnt completely understand what he was insinuating. Later in life however i began to realise exactly what he meant. The look in this girls eyes tell me she is intelligent, full of energy and on her way to becoming something truly great.

She didn't win just because she can play drums well. Look at her face. It's beaming. People love to watch people that love what they're doing. It just makes you feel better. She won because her drumming carries her joy to the audience.

The way she sits in the groove in "Whole Lotta Love" at 02:11 is incredible. Her ghost notes, feel, accuracy and authenticity is spot on. John Bonham himself would even be proud.

This little young girl is killing it on the drums. Kids and young people love music and playing instruments and you see more and more female drummers. You can tell she enjoys what she is doing playing those drums and her facial expressions are adorable and she is very passionate about what she does and that's all that matters is what she loves to do. She is an awesome little drummer and the older she gets the better she gets and she is awesome already so can you imagine how she will be when she is older wow. She can have a career very easily doing what she loves to do if she wants. Kudos to you young lady and you did an amazing job !!!

Holy mackerel!!! The great John Bonham is nodding his head in approval, keeping the rhythm in his grave. Johanne is not just a phenomenal drummer at age 10, but she’s got a personality to go with it, and she’s obviously having a ball through it all. She owns everybody in that venue, and she knows it! I love this little girl!

It's a talent show and that girl has got talent and lot's of it. Many of those negatively commenting against her are doing so because they are judging her against drummers double/triple her age and who have decades of experience. The girl was 10 when she won the contest. Give her time to train, practice and mature and she will no doubt be one of the best drummers in the world.

Both are true. Johanne was a great 10 year old drummer three years ago and presumably deserved to win this. Yoyoka is something else entirely, possibly the most natural drummer I’ve ever seen of any age. She's less showy and more musical and somehow I think does harder things that don't look harder to non-musicians, like that shuffle on Rosanna. Yoyoka doesn't play a drum set, she wears it. Also, her smiles don't come from pleasing the audience, they come from the music itself. There is no “look at me” aspect to her playing, she’s utterly casual and so effortless. That doesn't detract from Johanne. The world has room for more than one exceptional young drummer. However, I have no particular desire to play with Johanne but I’d love to play with Yoyoka, just as a pure musician forgetting age.

I think the most astounding part is the time keeping. Seldom seen a kid of 10 years play that well in time, all the chops are perfectly in place. That is really remarkable. We'll see more of her I guess.
